ARR is the KING of Theme Music while IR is the DON of BGM!

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

I feel IR is unmatchable in BGM, few of this examples are from the films "House Full", "Dalapathy", "Nayakan", and the list goes on........, while on the other hand ARR is the King, when it comes to theme music like "12ka4", "Ratchahan", "muthu", .....
any body agree with me?

Oh yes, I am great fan of both of them, so no fightings pls :))

  Guess for some its a hard act to follow. Or rather, its hard to swallow the truth. Pity these souls who still make themselves go thru this even when proven straight to their ears.

  ILAYARAJA is teh best in BGM, Theme Music, Live Music, Dead Body Music, Children Rhymes, Dappangkuttu, Opparai.....and anythign to do with music...
  
  even in outer space...his music rocks (as it is vacuum)....

  IR also teh best in raising kids...for ex: YSR, KR and Bhavatharini....

  I've a project of composing for Nursery Rhymes.
  
  I considered IR first. He is quite busy with 4 to 5 films in hand. Somebody told me about ARR and said I might try him as he is likely to be free.

  and so...teh associate..ARR to compose it..
  
  but do u know..these Nursery Rhymes makes more impact than Rakkam Kaiya Thattu?..
  
  almost anyone..can sing..."Twinkle 2 Little Star"...
  
  it is that popular....if they were to give royalty..for this songs...i believe the composer....could live is entire life..wihtout composing again at all!....

  Curses - well, certainly not on a warpath..... on IR Vs ARR fight - iam not much bothered..... but whenever someone says IR Fans are not decent, and ARR fans ARE ALWAYS DECENT - i don't get that..... and certainly it pisses me off.... this person talks about decency in this and posts an ugly one in another thread - yes it is a retaliation on another posting - but then it means that this fan is in PAR with the other fan, right - so why should we keep saying that only one set of fans are DECENT and others are not ?

  My opinion is that IR is really good in theme music - perhaps one of the best in the business. In his prime, it was not very common to market theme music as a separate entity - But for any serious/worthy movie/subject, his use of theme music with different flavors throughout the movie is amazing.
  
  One movie that stands out in my mind is Guna - others are Nayagan, Siraichalai, Salangai Oli,
  MMKR, Mouna Raagam, etc., there are manay more
  
  ARR did do a very good job in a few and has to be appreciated, but making a blanket statement like
  ARR is king of theme music and IR is great in BGM is like trivializing them
