Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

and which of my views r u disagreeing with V
is it the view that we dont accept hindi as a language over here[ cleanse up ur memory jus a few months back when the milestones were painted with hindi language in TN. every MP of TN stood with each other and stormed the parliament until it was accepted by our PM that the letters will be replaced by tamil as it was earlier]
is it the view that we v not accepted pop culture as the norths do the past ten yrs show very clearly how many pop artists/albums hav come up in north and how many are there in TN.
or is it the view that ARR is giving alien music to us.and he is churning out the music for the yuppie ungsters[well he is one of them]. who set their standards and views in life according to the western culture.
which one are u noty subscribing pls enlighten me.

hey rajasaranam are u the man ILAYARAJA himself? i'm getting serious doubts dude... the allegation that hurt me the most from you was "we dont see ARR as a part of this land he produces alien music to us. his looks and style depicts a yuppie ungster who has no aims in life" Mann he is a normal Tamil youngster who left his education to support his fatherless family and has been the icon of Humbleness and down-to-earthness. Take it from me raja dude, as a person ur IR can never reach ARR's heights... more ppl. love him than hating him... take the case of IR....it is pathetic...
y doesent it enter ur brain that when westerners appreciate him, they are bound to ask " where is he from?"
ur arguement is like i dunt consider Sachin Tendulkar as an Indian as he doesent play like Sunil Gavaskar but plays like Don Bradman, an aussie....

Why do you guys have to bring up IR whenever we have a discussion about ARR??? If IR is great why are you comparing him with ARR?
Whenever there is a discussion about an ARR's album, some IR fan comes in the thread and says 'oh, IR can do better/IR has done better/ IR this, IR that'... I think you guys have a severe case of inferiority complex. You are feeling bad that nobody is praising IR like ARR. Again you guys would say, 'IR needs no more praise, IR has touched all the peaks, IR blah blah'. All agreed guys, now can we discuss ARR without bringing in other music directors? This is a thread about the music album - BOYS...

well i dont consider cricket itself a game of this country so i dont hav any opinions abt SAchin.
"as a person ur IR can never reach ARR's heights" - well said: behind the humbleness of ARR crores of rupees r there and behind the arrogance of IR love for this land and music is there. how much money can a mugam, bharathi or sethu producer can pay to IR.[sethu producer kandasamy pledged his home and jewels in producing that movie]. think abt the low budget movies that IR had supported all along his career. in last few years itself he had composed for kutti, kaasi, azhagi, solla marantha kathai, kaathal jaathi, bharani. think abt the movies he had done for the new comers[directors] in this industry. how many such people had ARR supported. he goes for only mega budget, mega director [well established production companies and diectors]movies bcos he is safe over there as his music will be well marketed.but IR doesnt need that kind of marketing.his music justifies everything.
so i think my support for IR is rightly justified.

"y doesent it enter ur brain that when westerners appreciate him, they are bound to ask " where is he from?"
during our struggle for independence there were many people who supported the britishers [like ettapan]. well the britishers wud ve certainely appreciated them...... so......
dont u see the motives behind the MNCs appreciating ARR.sorry dude ur ARR is only a pawn in those hands trying to opress our culture abd inculcate their culture over us.

Well said Rajasaranam. These pathetic ARR fans are trying defend their idol so that the music for Boys will at least sell this time! The past 7 movie songs from ARR was a pityful crash - one after another. Keep trying ARR, and his fans..your freeloading days are over! What a bunch of loosers!

Rajasaranam and MS.....nobody is doubting Illayaraja's greatness....Infact ARR himself said once when he was compared to IR, " Don't compare me with him, he is a genius...Its from him that i learned that you don't need alcohol or drugs to produce music"...
So if you want to praise his music go start your own thread and sing all his praises...Infact i will join you there and help you out...But stop coming into ARR fans' threads and dissing him....I dont understand why guys keep doing this again and again.

"Boys" soundtrack was made available in Chicago on Thursday. A few points to note:
- Unlike the recent ARR albums, "Boys" songs make a very good impression on the first listening.
- The CD I got (from Ainghran), only had 7 songs (supposed to have 12?)
- The recording of the songs are very good
- The CD package was average - nothing special
- Blaze's song is vergy good and different
- A refreshing album from ARR
thanks,

Hey rajasaranam,
no MNC has bought ARR for ur info and it is no longer british ruling us... we are and our ARR is ruling them... and it is u guys are ettapans cos u r not supporting ur own tamilian understood.... and moreover i mentioned IR can never reach ARR in terms of Love and Affection of the industry ppl. and not MONEY... take a look at the statement of ARR on MONEY...." I DONT NEED MONEY, I'M SCARED OF IT, IT INHIBITS MY HAPPINESS". dunt ask y does he demand so much money then... he uses everything for music only again.. this is the last time i'm telling you... ARR is our icon and icon for various music talents from around the world....u can never change it

A.R.Rehman has done it again. After row of musical flops in Tamil in the recent past, he has proved once again with the film Boys. The much hyped audio of Shankar directed Boys with music by A.R.Rehman was launched on Saturday at the Devi theatre in Chennai. Two songs were projected for the select audience. The very first song “Girl friend...” sung by Karthik is trendy and will surely become a hit. And the other song “Maro..Maro..break the rules..”will is peppy and foot tapping. . Pop singer Adnanan Sami debuts in the film. His song with Sadhana Sargam is very melodious. A.R.Rehman was conspicuous with his absence. But the whole team along with producer A.M.Rathnam was present at the function Shankar said that 5.1 digital technologies have been engaged to record the songs and have been pasteurized in a grand manner which was noticed in one of the songs where 500 dancers had participated. Vikram launched the audio by giving Sneha the first copy. Top stars like Vikram, Vivek, Sneha, Meena, Trisha, Srikanth, Silambarasan, Sibi Raj and a host of directors like Bharathiraaja, Vikraman, Dharani, Hari, Lingusamy and singers like Vasundhara Das, Sujatha were present at the function. Abhishek Bachchan was a special invitee as he was shooting for Manirathnam’s film. The film with five new faces is likely to hit the cinema halls next month.
