Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

Boys is above average.. but if arr fans argue its something new, album of the centuary etc.. its wrong. boys is good but not excelent. all songs are average except aley aley. when listening to the album first few times it sounds great.. but after 10 listenings its just an average album. no songs are good enough to touch the soul.
Navjot.. no wonder why they say sarthagies are the crazy idiots in the world. get out of tamil nadu and when u go take ur gay partner sukvindar sing with u.. that baastard is killing tamil with his songs...

the point i have been making for the past 2 months in variuos threads TRUEMAN..... ARR needs to be credited more by Tamils.... it'll be shame if Tamils fail to recognise his gr8ness as he is already accpeted by LONDON and MUMBAI as a gr8 composer....

Have listened to Boys enough times to form a reasonable view of the songs. I think there are two very good songs in Ale Ale and Girl Friend, one innovative song (trend setting?) in Dating, and three popular songs (in the sense of being catchy) in Boom Boom, Secret of Success, and Break the rules. The cacophony at the end of the otherwise good Boom boom song is discomforting. Sometimes it is difficult to differentiate between Adnan Sami's voice and computer generated sound (I am sure it is Adnan's voice and not computer generated sound though). The Girl Friend song has traces of Columbus Columbus from Jeans and a song in ARR's Vande Mataram sung by a Pakistani classical singer. It is one of the picks of the Boys album. The song Alle Alle is very good, melodious and all that. It reminds one of the Dipu Dipu song at places. The opening bit of the Dating song is superb (yaarai kEttu endhan nejil ida pakkam needhan nuzhaindhayo). The other two songs will be very popular with teen aged listeners, I guess. But Lucky Ali shouts at a few places. Overall a solid, if not the best, album. We have heard better stuff from ARR in the nineties.

that was a very good question MADDY: "ARR needs to be credited more by Tamils.... it'll be shame if Tamils fail to recognise his gr8ness as he is already accpeted by LONDON and MUMBAI as a gr8 composer...."
well we TAMILS are more deep rooted in our culture tht we dont accept anything alien to us unles it can be digested by our own culture. a fine example of this is accepting violins in carnatic concerts or accepting to wear a jeans instead of dhoti for comfort purpose. otehr wise we dont accept it over here. whether it is the language hindi or the pop culture that has been readily accepted by the norths[ all pop albums were a failure in TN].
by the way where is the need for us to be ashamed of being true to our culture. we dont see ARR as a part of this land he produces alien music to us. his looks and style depicts a yuppie ungster who has no aims in life. his music asks us to enjoy lavishly when people are finding it hard to make their day.ultimately we find solace in IRs music which soothes our mind and heart and gives hope for the future. we find IR to be true to this land and culture. even when he adopts western music it is well churned out with the music which prevails here and we cant find the differnce bent the two when it flows frm IR.
well now tell me why doesnt the world doesnt recognise the music of IR. dont u know the answer.
well heres a theory on that - all MNCs try to make people consumers. comsuming watever they give. watever they wish to sell has to be taken up whether its their music or culture we hav to buy them.but IR doenst fit in that category.[ he has been a lone warrior fighting against these for the past 11 yrs and we r proud to support him].hence ARR was adopted by them to be their messiah and he is being given great attention by them whether its SONY or AIRTEL or WEBER they r all the same junk.
ARR is made a brand name like PEPSI/COKE.
well we r happy with our Tender coconut and IR.
its time we say "if u dont care abt us we dont care abt u"

rajasaranam please do not talk your own opinion in the "name osf all tamils"
I might not subscribe to most of your views.
I am proud that TFM has an IR and ARR!
w/out ARR i dont know if I would be proud enough!
WIth IR I have some music which comes close to my culture!
WIth ARR I have some music that is global and it takes MY TAMIL MUSIC to global audience!
So I NEED BOTH OF THEM!!!!
