Hi everyone,
I have been visiting this page only for the past 1 year&am totally hooked.I don't like the new avataar-is it because the mind always resists change or is it a genuine concern,i still don't know but if there is anyway the same look can be retained,it would be very nice. Will Saravanan,bb never appear again on this page, unbelievable. He will be greatly missed.Things don't stay the same, but still it's sad to note their departure.Best of luck.If this is the way newtfmpage is going to stay,i really don't know if i will be able to visit the site as frequently i do now, let's see.

I too am hooked up with this plain looking style, five years old habits die-hard. But guess I can adjust myself to the new look and feel, provided that does not have too much of frills. Hope, as you have "vowed" you would try to retain the same look and feel as much as possible :)
btw, Admin, if you have plans to migrate all these threads from this location to the new site what would happen to the links given in many threads pointing to some page of other threads in this forum? I think your task is going to be labourious in fixing those issue. All the best :)

RR/Ravi:
Haven't seen a single post from you on any of the relevant (or irrelevant) topics in the discussion forum over the last few years. My understanding is that even for the thread maintenance and day to day administration bb was the point of contact. Even a casual surfer would know that in the past few years, bb's contribution to this forum has been immeasurable. Quite frankly, my perception (and very informed opinion) was that you guys had pretty much quit visiting this forum. Your sudden interest is similar to the "perusus" in Tamil weddings who give such valuable inputs on whether the bride's uncle should stand on the right side of his wife or left.
Anyway, irrespective of the reasons for your sudden interest, the least you guys could have done is to acknowledge bb's contribution to newtfmpage.com. You bet your As# you owe it to him. When you guys were in your chosen oblivion, he was the guy who was burning midnight oil to ensure that the flow of the page and the admin functions was as smooth as it has been.
Nobody cares about what difference of opinion you had or who was right? But when somebody takes care of your house (or what you claim to be your house) on your behalf for a good part of 3+ years, the least you owe is a courtesy "Thank You". You are lucky that it is bb's magnanimity that you are masquerading here as if "everything is swell and it will be back to old times". You deserve much less!

Dear All
There seems to be some concerns, sadness and even anger in the current, unfortunate situation here at TFMP.
Honestly, I don't see why bb or Saravanan won't post in the new TFMP or RR won't post in the new Dhool pages. Both of them have had some differences of opinion and have parted ways. They are not sworn enemies. bb's contributions to TFMP (and ForumHub too) cannot be denied and must certainly be acknowledged. Similarly Ravi & RR (together with Ramki and Pal) were the pioneers and dared to dream. Just as we acknowledge Indira Gandhi's role in nation building, one should not forget Mahatma Gandhi who actually opened the way to nationhood. India's history consists of both MG and IG.
This unhappiness will pass. We, the bystanders should allow the wounds to heal. Let us celebrate that instead of one, we now have two wonderful forums, administered by two brilliant groups. Let us wish both of them the best with blessings for the direction that they choose to take. Let bygones be bygones. All that happens, happens for the best.

"Concerned parties had split amicably so who are you to get involved?" is the veiled question here. As a guy who contributed when the Hub was in its infancy (even a hat was passed around for contributions where I and others contributed), I deem myself a shareholder in this forum. Hell, I would've liked to have thought of this place as family, but family doesn't unceremoniously dump its integral member overnight.
What's laughable is one person claiming ownership of this very public forum. If anything, the "owner" has been an absentee landlord at best. Besides, this wasn't built through one person's contribution. If designing the site gives one the right to run another contributing member out of the site, then I guess my Mason can chase me out of my own house for having built it! People didn't come here for the sake of the design. People came here: for the all-embracing spirit, the camaraderie that was fostered with diligence and care, the valuable discussions that everybody helped prolong.
I had been quiet so far to honor the high road that bb took in this matter. I emptied my angst in "dhooL" as a paen to a dear friend. I did that to lend solace to a wounded friend. That's my prerogative, one that I don't need to explain to anyone. But since that has been referenced here I feel obliged to give a rebuttal.
The reason for my angst is I have been privy to the correspondence that lead to the split. Yes, I've read the very emails between the two parties. I had to persist to get to read it too. bb didn't even mention it here. That shows his class. I'm mentioning it here because I can't stand it anymore. Silence is exhausting, it creates misconceptions and anoints the lie as truth. It's not my place to divulge the mail's details since not much good can come of it now, but I'm not going to leave this site with the knowledge that others consider what transpired as no big deal. That does my memories of this place disservice. That illserves my allegiances to the goodness I once found here. I feel the same as RajaG does. I smolder that someone would think that RajaG is flame baiting. Go and check Raja's track record before you throw such words at him. We have had a history here, people, hence the regret. It's easy for outsiders to shrug and say, what's the big deal, leave and create another site. I would think that way too, if I hadn't invested, time, energy, and care here. We have created another but that's beside the point.
Considering many people's love and labour went into building this site and the Hub, a civil thing to do would've been to congregate with the veterans of the site when irreconcilable differences surfaced between the "owner" and the Admin. I consider myself a veteran of this site. People who have been around for 6+ years know about it. I made lifelong friends here. bb met, fell in love, and married his wife from this DF. There are so many others like me who would ignite upon knowing the self-centered reasons behind the change of things here. To change guards without due reason shows no respect to all our contributions. To remove every one of our contributions to the DF and Hub would take hours if not days. I'm not here to grandstand, this is a lament of a good thing gone awry. To put a single person's ego over so many people's hardwork is regrettable. Creative albums, books, interviews with celebrities, have all been possible in the DF and Hub as a result of people coming together here sharing their goodwill and soul. That soul has been violated now. Once gratitude has been spit upon then what's left?
You can lay claim to the site. You can belittle others' contributions. You can redesign and make the site your own. Make sure you design a soul for the place, it's clearly lacking now.
Not much left to say. I wish the participants of this site well. I hope you find the joy this site once gave me.

en manakuralin ethiroli kEaten.nanRi.Personally i know how much of efforts have gone into Saravanan's SOTD.His unparalleled passion and the enthusiasm with which he shared his original knowledge,I am sure everyone who has visited this forum since Jun 2002 would acknowledge without a question.I think missing out of BB's and Saravanan's names is deliberate and the reasons are not TFM related...how shall we put mildly, diplomatically and politely....a conspiracy??
I must impress upon the word ""original"written in the previous paragraph.People who have read Mr.Vamanan's "thirai isai alaigaL"might understand the relevance.Saravanan has been personally thanked by Mr.Vamanan in many of his articles for the invaluable information. But people who had used gleefully Mr.Vamanan's work have refused to even acknowledge the source their "profound"TFM knowledge.
