Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy can be brought to TFM

Remember the Music Director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music directors of Kamal Hassan's Alavandhaan. They seem to be missing in the Tamil scene for the last 2 years and they are doing really good in the Hindi field. They have given solid musical hits in Hindi such as; Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahtha Hai. I think they can be brought to the Tamil films again. I feel they are definitely better than Deva and a few others. I think they are the best as far as Hindi Film Music goes after A R Rahman.

I would like healthy comments who listen to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and have a fair knowledge of Hindi Film Industry.

  If this is the sort of mentality you people have, no wonder North is still under-developed compared to South.

  Indeed, what an eye opener that with so much to pick from - you could have quoted Dr.Hargobind Khurana, or Kalpana Chawla or even Manmohan singh as achievers from N.India - you chose a couple of brainless bimbos to parade the "greatness" of N.India. Not only are you ignorant of good music and arts, you are also unaware of your own worthy people and history. A pity you are the spokesman for your region here.

  here in Birmingham, we live among gora's. believe me our best friends here are often pakistani and bangladeshi. we feel like we are part of ONE community, from the south asian sub-continent.

  with all due respect to south indian singers, they all sound so similar dont they! almost all of them have shrill voices with good control and modulation.
  
  i feel it is really such a welcome change to hear sanu da's voice in south indian songs :--)
  
  on hearing this song(linkmon top of page) i hope all of u realise that all the rhetoric about sanu da's voice not suiting south indian/SEL/ARR music style is rubbish.
  
  actually i have my own views on this.
  
  ARR/SEL are music directors who make music dominated songs,ie, emphasis is on instruments and sounds rather than basic composition and singing. singers dont get noticed in most of their songs, so the MD gets most the credit of the success.
  
  but sanu da's singing and voice is such that he just cant be ignored, and his songs are invariably remembered as HIS songs rather than the MD's songs.this can be atributed to both his gifted voice and emotion filled singing style.
  
  i am talking in relative terms here, i am NOT saying that ARR/SEL or KS get ALL the credit while the other singer/MD is left in the cold, but they do hog up MORE credit that their couterparts.
  
  thats why these MD's(SEL and ARR) who always want to always hog the limelight are scared of using sanu da's prominent soft 'surround sound' and bassy voice.
  
  they wud rather stick to non-prominent voices which wud allow their 'music' to be noticed better.
  
  actually ,these days even north indian MD's are using lesser singers (incl babul supriyo) more and more because they want more credit for their efforts.

  Whatever you do,please do not curse the celebrities of north and south. They are the ones who have made us proud. Even if you say something,it will not affect them. Because, they will remain still big. We, the ordinary people, can not touch them.
  
  My special requests to the racists: first try to know about other culture and then say something.
  
  Tapan! You do not have the capability to understand the genious of Kumar Sanu. You have learnt music,it is true. But your music knowledge only consists of the notations and the grammars. You do not know how to put life to these grammars and notations. So, you do not understand the brilliance of Kumar Sanu. So, you better keep your mouth shut.
  
  V! Yes, I do agree that many Hindi films are copies of South Indian, Bengali and Oriya films. But there are origianl stories also. First you try to know about them, then you will learn. Then you will be able to speak. Of course, I am proud of the South Indian culture. But, that does not mean that other cultures are inferior. Get yourself free from this superiority complex. And, in India, other than South Indian amd Hindi culture, there are many other culture. Assamese, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Gujrati and Marathi - all are culture-wise very strong. Learn about them. Then you think of saying that South Indians are superior.
  
  And Kavita! Why do bring in these Aryan-Dravidian conflict? Do you have any idea about the South Indian culture and the South Indian food? Whole world is crazy after these two things. Just know a bit about them and then talk.
  
  Lastly, let me once again point out that our battle is against the racists. Not against any culture or tradition or the celebrities who belong to other cultures.

  I dont hate North Indian people as such. But I feel ashamed that North Indian politics (castebased) is destoying this cuntry.
  
  The golden triangle of india (chennai-hyderabad-bangalore) has just zoomed in recent years and IT, agriculture, municipal administration, urban development, education, health, civic amenities, road construction, literacy programs, AIDS awareness campaigns etc etc etc.
  
  I hate these pan chewing laloos and ex-toilet cleaner mayawati(it is the truth) ans caste fanatic mulayam, religious fanatic modi, etc etc
  
  Apart from Sheila Dixit who else have performed well in the NORTH???? Modi did good work but his religious hatred was revealed.
  
  I just wished that south was a seperate country not because I hate north indian with a racist attitude. Just because we are better performing. Imagine we would have Abdul kalam for ourselves for our missile defense program. A chandrababu naidu, A Chidambaram etc etc. Our IT growth and agricultural development and most of all our disinclination to get provoked to the level of burning children and women in lakhs and lakhs would make us less violent (note: agreed we would still have naxalites etc. but not something to the tune of guj and mumbai muslim-hindu violence).

  I know you are from the north and the caste mentality is raking in your brains. After all when your politicians play caste politics what will a poor soul like you do?? You would still have that same caste mentality.
  
  But try to shrug a little of that off. Try to catch up on what we are undergoing in this country.
  
  Can someone come up with real arguments that would weaken my claim that the North is pulling our performance averages down and the south is a paragon in development?

  You have said the Hindi pronounciation of south indians is so bad. Yes agreed.
  
  But I am ashamed that some south indians even atempt to speak that language which was rightly put by some member here as "a mughal inspired concoction".
  
  I do feel ashamed that I dont speak Samkritham. According to me it is my National language and not Hindi and stuff like that.
  
  So I am just glad to hear that south indians havent given up their own culture and have held on to native original languages and not concoctions!
