Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

C~P I'm Venki from OH. Anyways I see two teams one team wants to be EXOTIC and OPEN and another wants ot be SUBTLE. During college I told one of my friends to read a book to know about sex. He just told that he need not read a book to know how to do, and he would naturally know that. That is true, I liked his subtle way of telling that he knows what to do. Had he never seen such books? Nope, he was a BOGUS. Did I always take a lesson from a book? Nope, even that is false.
My argument is, certain things need not be told. Definetely not in a movie from Shankar. I have already seen what is seen in BOYS in 'Sthrikku or Isthri' and En purushan Ethir Veetu Pondati. These movies were released some 10 - 15 years back. So the trend you talk about is not new it has always been there. Only difference is what people take in their hand to make money.
Did Shankar get inspired from those movies.

magix,
Thinking big is not spending big. Look at Spielberg. He could give movies with lots of special effects like Jurassic Park, but he could also give a movie like schindler's list. That's what I am talking about.
Taking low budget movie does not necessarily means lowering the standards. A director in my opinion should give what the story line deserves. Nothing more nothing less.
But shankar always hides behind technology and relies of multicrore production. That's what I am talking about.
Had be spent 4 crores for Boys in place of 22 crores, he will easily finding producers for his next movie. Now it may be difficult.

MADDY,
I have only one complain against ARR in this movie. Tamil Kolai has been glorified in this Album.
Generally ARR does it for adding flavour to his album(like one song). Here only one or two songs were normal.
But for that songs are ok.

hey C~P... Ramanarayanan graphics...interesting.. If i would have got impressed with those kind of graphics i would have never compared Boys with Matrix... We r making the movies technically sound.. but what is the purpose in making a song with that camera work.. so the director is creating the plots to use the technology.. doesn't it look awkward..U have to use the technology in the movie if it needs that.. for instance ... the traffic jam scene in Mudhalvan..that is the effective use of graphics.Talking about songs... Alai Alai song is not that great as Telephone manipol (or) Athisayamae.. Maro Maro could never stand infront of Mudhalvane Mudhalvane... There is no song that has that majestic handle that Azhagana Ratchasiyae has got..Ok lets come to that Dating song .. Manirathnam has done that lots of times.. so nothing new in that too.. If u get a chance watch the song picturization of Kushi Hindi version. Particularly the hindi version of ponnu onnu nan parthaen... that will knock out the Secret of success.. See.. Shankar was improving technically whenever he comes with a new movie. But this time he is not.. Indian , a movie with 8 crores budget is much more technical than Boys...With 22 crores he would have done miracles.. Never ever compare Hey Raam with Boys.. technology wise he will kick u out of the arguement.. coming to 5.1 DTS.. i sadi its not impressive bcoz.. i have recently seen a movie Transporter which was improvised with 5.1 DTS.. I just watched that in my home theater.. when there was a car chase in the movie i felt like i was driving the car with roaring engines and smoking exhausts... I was expecting the same way that i will feel like in the crowd when they show the MTV awards in BOYS.. but a big disappointment..There was nothing of that sort.. thats again a marketing strategy to make the people to buy the original cds rather than downloading from the net... not even a single scene impressed me with that 5.1 DTS.. ordinary DTS would have done the same wonders..Then in Thulluvadho Ilamai .. it was not a youth who sneaks into his parents bedroom. Its a kid.. Director meant to show how stupid the parents are, they didn't even have the common sense that their kid is sleeping close to the place where they try to have sex.

ARR himself hate the movie and run away without dpoing BGM.Actually he felt himself why he did songs for the movie.ARR was not aware of the shankars TI copy.
ARR himself is against the movie BOYS.I don't know why evereyone is talking great about boys.It is really funny.Hahahaha

Yah
It is really funny. This thread is moving towards shankar, selvaragavan,TI etc..Not even YSR.
ARR is kept out of the DF.Nobody is bothered to discuss about the music in BOYS.I think this topic is dedicated for shankar.Right?.

I cant laugh to see xml's desperate attempts to assuage ARR fans and trying to entice them to say Boys is a flop.
Look at the concession he gives guys:
ARR has nothing to do with it. It is shankar's flop.
haha What a pathetic and desperate attempt. You do have a wry and sly sense of humor

Boys is a hit in Malayasia. In Malaysia a movie running more than two week is a hit. it has been two weeks and boys is still running in cinemas. it looks like it'll go on for another week as the movie is running even in least tamilian populated areas.

no rite...it is screened in a theatre..if u like..go and watch and enjoy it...or else..sit at home...and keep quite....
There are hundreds of theatres in TN showing uncensored movies....why don't go and picket against the director, or technical crew of it?..
Vera vella irunthatane seiyarathuke..

The movie will be a bad influence only if the person watching it is not a teenager.
boys is about boys and girls not men and women.
remember the lyric
'palasai vithiyai thadayai udayappa..ye..ye..'
from Break The Rules? so break those old way of thinking.
there was some (so called) sexual scenes but one of the boys died because of it.
it also shows that young marriage can be successful if they control themselves.
so the film is bad for those who think negative.
think positive and you'll see the morals in it.
