I felt the loss at a very personal level. Who else can make evry cell in his body act and delight audiences.I only take consolation from some of the very philosophical songs from the veteran thespian's movies.
I hope his creativity and dedicated performances will inspire many more generations to come.

I hope the government will install a statue on 'beach road' for the legend. The statue should be the tallest in the world.
They should also start a film institute in his name so that one day we hope we see another 'Sivaji'.. What a wonderful day that would be.
Sivaji is immortal !!

Dear HI,
I agree Dr.Shivaji also best in Overacting. ButI need a clarification. What is the difference between Acting and Over Acting?

There is nothing called overacting. That is purely logical. Acting style is keep on changing for every now and then. What he did is best for that period. If someone still have opinion that Sivaji can only overact, better they can watch Muthal Mariyaathai, Thevar Mahan and Pasumpon. (Even Pooparika Varuhirom is also good).

well overacting...shivaji gives expressions which are more dramtical...in common life people wont react like that... like even when playing a mridungam ..he gives a facial expression as if it was his last day on earth..and thats what i call overacting... off course no denial that he is one of the best actors ever... but he had his flaws too...but all that he did was considered the epitome ..what to do ?? he didnt relate to reality ..in most of his films
it was more dramatic and reality

if u want to call an actor who was really at ease in pulling any role... think of actors like.. m.r radha and one for actor from telugu . who acted as a father in most of the old films ...i think is name was some RAO... they were both natural and versatile

one day when the dust has settled & i have some time to collect my thoughts I will post an article which befits Sivaji. Re. overacting tag that Sivaji has had to bear. i will just give an example watch Gowram See the way he differentiates between the larger than life barrister & the almost womanish son( being raised by Perimma Chellamma). The intro scene where he buys vegetables & also the scene where the two play chess. Small scenes but the nuances of acting are found there . no other film has better differentiation of dual role. make up here was incidental. the expressions , dialogue delivery, gait were the main thing. What people term as overacting is really method acting , Sivaji highlights or telescopes your attention to the skin of the character. No man can come near his performance as VOC in Kappolotiya Tamizhan. He understood & then potrayed a personality who had just left the scene as it were.
The writerAsokamitran once said that Sivaji took Tamil cinema back by twenty years because the directors who took the easier option of leaving it to Sivaji's histrionic abilities to carry the film & not concentrate on the finer aspects of film makin- like screen play development, technical advances be it in lghting, camera angles, shot separation et al. Don't blame Sivaji he was capable of all types of acting.

Do you mean Ranga Rao? I don't think MRR and Rango Rao will suit any role either - they too had their limitations.

Any way SIVAJI GANESAN WAS THE STAR WHO HAD EXHIBITED ALL VARIETIES OF ACTING WHICH ANY OTHER ACTOR HAS DONE SO FAR. AND ALSO AS A FAN OF TMS I CAN SAY THAT THE COMBINATION OF SIVAJI AND TMS HAS GIVEN RARE THINGS.

oSivaji is to Indian films, what Gregory Peck was to Hollywood! But, Girigiri Peck did not have histrionic abilities, which he beleived meant self indulgence. What would Indian cinema have been without histrionic talents? Not worth it.

Comedy is serious business. Making people laugh is definitely no joke. And Sivaji Ganesan understood it as much as the greatest comedians. That's why his attempts at levity continue to live. To this moment actor Sivaji Ganesan remains
ubiquitous, thanks to television. Not a day passes without one channel or the other airing his film or at least clippings from his films. Two years have passed but you still cannot believe that Sivaji Ganesan is no more.

What an wonderful Actor.Clearly in the exclusive league of the Worlds Best.He may have died a natural death, but he lives on, whenever one watches any of his films. There is no death for the legend of Shivaji Ganesan.
