  The sax BGM is exactly from the song & played in bits in most of the places.The incohesive and too simplistic orchestra just does not match with ARR s style.
  
  All the Tamil Makkal whom we met after the movie were wondering why the mags have given this movie a gross thumbs down.(ofcourse i am not trying to generalise this as mine is very small place !)
  
  I would watch an old RK anyday than watch the new & young chimpu.(OOH i would watch Vennira AAdai murhty as an action hero instead of VK or Satyaraj!)BTW who gave this joker chimpu the title "Little Super Star" ...Rajendar or Usha?

  that just mayb a possibility......or cud it be sumthin of the sort of a dif type of music for RK which ARR was mentioning about?? (dats typical primitive thinking though!).......do u feel SM cud give this quality of BGM (other than those song clips....for instance in that kite scene)......and i don feel playing song bits is wrong.....dats typical IR!

  Read the last para.. Hr/She didnt even bother to get the lyrics right to report.. sounds funny though, how they manage to still sustain..

  I live in Singapore too.
  
  HEY RAM ran for 1 solid month in an English cinema(Cathay Theatre) at Orchard Rd which is the classiest place in Singapore. And the cinema which normally only shows English movies was world class.
  
  Baba is running in Broadway and Plaza cinema. Despite having DTS, they are sub-standard cinemas in every other aspects. Also, it caters to special audiences who have the wit to laugh off hysterically over an actor falling off a banana peel and clapping hands so excitedly(with a big grin!) over the actor's superhuman feats like the bommerang shoe etc.

  Look at the below Japanese site.The Japanese guys went to Chennai (Albert Theater) to see Baba movie and they really enjoyed it.

  Yes i agree with you that Hey Ram ran at Cathay theater which is one of the best theater. After showing that picture, Cathay was closed down. What a luck for the historical theater!

  For goodness sake you're moderator of a website of an Indian legend. Pls don't talk like a little child. The Cathay Building which houses the Cathay Cinema was sold away for purely buisness reasons. Pls don't go into that unless you have enough knowledge to do it. I think you better just stick to Rajini movies.

  naanum rajni fan thaan.....i liked the movie as well......but the thing is many RK fans dont like the movie coz of the aanmeegam part......so BABA isnt doing that well in theatres.......otherwise u wudnt see seats vacant at Sathyam Theatre on Sundays!
  
  the fact abt the collection of BABA is due to the large number of theatres it is running in and the price hike allowed by Jayalalitha.......i don feel BABA will get to 100days here....if it does tis something amazing (as u know 80% of chennai wud have already seen BABA)

  For your info, Cathay was not performing well even for English movies. Then they thought that Serangoon Road is very nearby (walkable distance) and it may attract indian crowds. Therefore it started showing Hey Ram, Guru Paarvai, Uyire, Jodi, etc. However they are not still making money too. No choice but to close down the theater.
  
  If they have started screening like Rajini movie, may be they will have good impression and attracted more crowds.
  
  Let me give you some example whereby the Singapore Tamil theaters are well regonised after showing Rajini movies.
  
  1. New Happy Theater was maintained by Kavitha's Videos. After screening Thalapathy, he was amazed the Rajini's support. He immediately got another theater to screen Tamil picture and that is Hoover Theater. On the first show of that theater was Thalapathy. The theater attracted more crowds once Rajini's Mannan was screened.
  
  2. Golden Sultan Theater became very famous after screening Rajini's Batcha.
  
  3. Plaze theater opened their theater with Rajini's movie Padayappa.

  Dear C~P,
  
  From Rajinidotcom group, some of the members told me that last Sunday Baba was houseful in Sathyam and Albert. Mostly occupied by ladies and children.
  
  Next, for sure Baba will run 100 days. It has already created history and we will wait for another history to happen.
