Unearthing Rare Golden Oldies of TFM into MP3s

There are many many wonderful songs in old TFM (especially belonging to the period before 1980) which many of us have heard and enjoyed in the days of their popularity, but, as years rolled by those songs came to be heard only rarely. This thread is an attempt to unearth such golden oldies. Those who have longed to hear such songs can make a "nEyar viruppam" request here. In response, those who have the songs can convert them into MP3s and share it with others here. Through sites like coolgoose.com and Yahoo briefcase, it is now possible to do such sharing easily.

As rare songs are unearthed and brought out as MP3s, it would be natural to listen to them and discuss them here, so that this thread does not simply become just a set of requests and supplies.

My sister Sathya Kabali has a large collection of rare TFM goldies in cassettes and she is in the process of converting them into MP3s and putting them in coolgoose. The songs she has uploaded are available at this link:

  Damn! i am getting the same error in coolgoose... i cant download any song! its giving me error 503!! anybody else getting this or is it just me?

  This error is very common in coolgoose. What you need to do is this. Press the back button whenever the error page opens. After 3 or 4 attempts, you will be able to download the song easily. Sometims you need to retry for atleast 10 times. This has happened to me many times, when I try to download song from coolgoose.

  I have a song in mind from the film 'Valliyin Selvan'. Never heard it on radio, but know this song as I had learnt it for a skit in my school days. It's about children going round and round as a train and some of the paras of the lyrics are as follows.

  and it goes like it. Probably it was penned by that great Tamil writer Kothamangalam Subbu or Kalaimani who wrote 'Thillana Mohanambal' and 'Ravbahadur Singaram' both of which were made for the screen, the latter as 'Vilayattu Pillai' starring Sivaji Ganesan and I suppose Padmini.
  
  When I was asked to be part of the skit for the 'engine and train' song as a schoolboy in the 60s i never knew it was a film song of yesteryears. but later i found out from my sister that it was from the film 'valliyin selvan' which was produced sometime in the mid-fifties i suppose.

  Muthuraman is an ardent fan of the singer Kancheepuram Vaani (K.R.Vijaya). Vaani sings this song in the radio and Muthuraman listens to this song in front of the radio. Jaisankar had a dual role as Muthuraman's elder brother and the villain. That adds up to the twists in the story.
