I saw Virumandi by paying extra.
Why KAMAL..? Why u proved all that told by K.Balachander in Virumandi VIZHA.
It is better to have directors like BHARATHAN ( DEVAR MAHAN ) to deliver a good interesting movie.
Virumandi was very raw and not able to sit in the second half.
Dont confuse the audience with ur confused state of mind.
Iam UPSET and my friends ridicule me as a fan of yours.

  Saami was definitely cleverly made, but Dhool was horrible to say the least. I just saw the movie recently and it made me wonder how the heck the movie was a hit! The songs were good and the people had acted well. But for these I don't know if I would have watched the movie! Did you see any technical excellence? Did you find some nice directorial touches? Did you find a good plot? I am curious to know what impressed you so much in that movie. Swapna or Eash?? ;-)
  
  In my opinion, the only person who is capable of doing ANY role that you give him is Sivaji. Others lack in some form or the other. I definitely agree that Rajni and Satyaraj had better timing and it came naturally to them, but not Prabhu please!!! Kamal may not be a natural but he certainly doesnt make it look artifical! I mean he is that capable atleast. IMO as long as he achieves what is required (providing the audinece some good laughter) it doesn't matter which slang he speaks in.
  
  Third greade cheap comedy - I would definitely disagree for I enjoyed Thenali and that would mean I enjoy cheap comedy! :-) Thenali had the commercial stuff in it. It was directed by K.S.Ravikumar afterall. So did PKS and Panchathanthiram. But PKS did not impress me that much. Kamal had done his part in these movies. I don't think it could have any better. Given these, I would definitely watch out for Kamal's comedy movies.
  
  And yeah, I dont think people claim movies to be good only when it has Kamal in it. Our DFers have appreciated Kaathal Kondaen, Pithamagan and Kaakha Kaakha. I don't see people being narrow minded in here.

  I disagree about the fact that Kamal's not good in comedy..
  His sense of timing and spontaneity was brilliant in Singaravelan, Thenali and MMKR.

  Prabu....had done some very good comedy films...he was a natural....he probably gave the maximum number of comedy films that were commercial successes...from GuruSishyan to Manamagale Vaa...Chinnamaaple....the list goes on.
  
  True...who cares what slang Kamal uses...as long as it is fun. But, after a while it gives you that "repeat" feeling. But...hey...he did take me by surprise with Sathileelawathi.
  
  Mate...I am not trying to disgrace you ;-). I thought some scenes gave me that "low-budget" feel. Well...you are right...what more to expect from Ravikumar. Even...Muthu...had that look. But, Naatamai was fine.
  
  I am still admiring the technical brilliance of Kaakka Kaakka. I saw the film at Devi when we were holidaying in Chennai and now I have got the DVD. Now...this movie is a "nothing" plot...but the treatment was brilliant. I also watched the making of this film...it is actually a novie made with very little money...but see how rich it look on the canvas.....the story was told in a neat and simple manner...it was gripping...it was intense...and had the audience spell bound. Now...this is another good movie which became a mega hit without any of the masala aspects.

  Saw irumandi, must say it is a fantastic movie. Same old story but screenplay was superb. It is indeed Kamalahasan all the way. So much directors intricacies in the movie one can notice. Kamals approach to the movie needs applause. But one this that shud be discussed in this forum lacks in the movie. I mean that IR has a very little part to play in the movie. Cause even when scenes equire BGM Kamal manged with some great aufio graphy, natural sounds to get the mood. Even the songs, though very apt for situations, dont stand out.

  I wasn't saying Prabhu is not good at comedy. I wouldn't for I have watched Guru Sishyan around 20 times! Was just saying that I felt Kamal is definitely better than Prabhu...definitely! Prabhu, as far as I know, doesn't give you hilarious pieces. That was my basis of comparison. Kamal may not be a natural as you claim, but I have laughed more at Kamal's jokes than Prabhu's.

  Not only Sivaji,No other actor so far in TFM or even IFM is capable of doing that role.
  
  It doesn't mean that I am underestimating Sivaji.I agree he can do any role.But just wanted to point out that he also had his limitation for this particular role.
  
  Comedy.
  Rajni, Prabu and Sathya are effortless and excellent in this aspect.
  
  By just looking at these three actors it was fun.I agree it comes naturally to them.
  
  That does not mean you have to underestimate Kamal.
  Kamal had already done movies like Singaravelan,Meendum Kokila,Manmadha leelai which are all just ordinary form of Comedy just to prove he can do that also.
  
  But the mentioned actors {rajini,sathyaraj}cannot perform the roles done in MMKM,or Thenali.
  To say the least they have not performed so far
  in this regard.
  On the other hand ,I am happy to know how Tamil is spoken in diffrent accents.Kamal is able to give that variety wherein others just have the same monotonus acting.

  I saw virumandi, I must tell everybody that its one of kamalhassan's technical brilliance, I don't think it would be liked by mass this movie adhers to the class. A fantastic movie a must watch. I just wonder when will people wake up to watching quality movies, But i'll conclude there can be movies which runs for 100 days but this movie has no comparsion to others it's a cut above others movies made these days.

  Kamal is the best comedian ever... some people here think prabhu is better... the way kamal delivers his dialogues is soo smooth... all his tamil accents the way he presents it puts him top of any other hero in tamil r indian movie industry... Micheal madana kama rajan... now tell me can any1 else pull those roles of other than kamal... that is just one movie i am talking abt...what makes him more special... he can be a chappani... then he can also be Kamaisvaran (michael madana kama rajan)... he can be Aadhi(Kuruthipunal).. he can be Guna...he can be PKS.... now VIRUMANDI.... there is nothing common in these characters except it is played by the greatest actor ever to live in this planet....

  Sivaji is definetly good with tailor made roles for him like Thiruvilayadal, Kattaboman.
  His comic sense wasn't that good, he's definetly not as versatile as Kamal.
  He needs to overact to show people that he acts.
  Subtle and intelligence acting was never in his Lexicon.
  Sivaji can never do a Nayakan. Look at Kamals range of emotions in that Movie.
  
  A simple example of Sivajis overacting skills is mirudanga chakravarti.
  Watch Salangai oli and you will know How to live a role.
  Sivaji's portrayal of a Lawyer in Gouravam is a mockery to his real life counterparts.

  True....there are many roles that Sivaji wouldn't have done as well as others.....Shankarabaranam, Salangai Oli...that is not because of acting...friend. Kamal is a dancer first then an actor. Obviousely...it suited him.
  
  For God's sake...don't compare Sivaji...he is the ULTIMATE in acting. Any actor, especially Kamal, would commit suicide if they hear anyone comparing them with Sivaji.
