They look like antonyms to me.THe forum, which had once been a playground of fun filled people, happniess, joy is now reduced to hatred, personal and verbal attacks. The attitude of certain people has literally driven some of our regulars here.Where are we heading to?If this trend continues i dont think this forum will be ever used for the main purpose it was created. We are here to talk about music, varieties of music, its creators, irrespective of who it is ,listeners. This forum is accessed and read throughout the world. SHouldnt we,people who come from prestigious universities, who are woring in respectable positions, show minimal politeness in
what we speak and what we write. But whats happening here is worse than 'kuzhaiyadi sandai'.I really feel ashamed and hurt to see this. SOme of us are really brutal.I dont want to cite examples, wait what the heck, once a srikanth had posted that he wanted to cut the throat of SUresh peters.I was shocked and was very sad to read that. You need not have to give respect for his talent but atleast he deserves some respect as a human being.WHat if suresh peter also reads the forum??Wouldnt he be hurt?If you dont like
an artist, keep it to yourself or say it diplomatically. We are not barbarians,we are all educated, talented human beings.Let us not slay each other with words.
Stop comparing people.Stop comapiring their works.
If you cant ,sorry to say,but stop coming here.
Ravi sorry for creating a melodramatic thread, but by the look of things here i guess you might even consider putting this thread in permanent section:)

Raj:
Should I really be thanking you for turning me into a coffee-dispenser ? ;-)
But you are right about the fact that I was once filled with the same ebullience (thanks to www.dictionary.com ;-)) that you are demonstrating now ! But with time, I learned that it does not hurt to be politically correct once in a while. Quite often it is beneficial when you can convince a person that you would never make a statement without fulling analyazing its consequences. Writing in the 'Politeness..." thread, I do not want people to misunderstand my 'political correctness' as an attempt to play by 'rules'. Like you imply, the only rules needed in the DF pertain to the use of logic in one's arguments. I suggest 'political correctness' only to soften the opponent before delivering the knock-out punch...if you know what I mean :)
As for strong filter-coffee, I have another confession to make ! After 1 full year in the U.S, I recently had my parents send me a packet of filter coffee along with a traditional coffee filter. Guess what ? It was too strong for me ! So I am now back to Taster's Choice :-( instant coffee !

Ah! I had all along been waiting for you to ask this:yeah! It does sound as if I have turned you into a coffee-dispensing machine! But no, I didnt mean it that way. It is just one of the by-products and a by-product also doesnt get produced if the originating process is not performed.
Ah! SO, you are put off by filter-coffeee. But then we enjoy your brew...I know of a vegetarian who cook non-veg for his/her dear one.He/she never has it himself/herself.
oH YES, I am learning the art of political correctness. Why, my last posting here reflects that fact, doesn't it? .But I am sad our friend SPM has gone berserk. He used to be such a poor thing, as someone called him. He is behaving like a bull thats sighted a red rag! Very sad!

I was still talking about politeness and this forum, though more expansively ! The 'coffee' stuff is just a joke.

Srikanth, sure. I am happy you are back. The discussions were getting monotonous, with all the back-slapping(not of the tamaraikkani type, though:) ) . Besides, this thread being politeness and all that stuff, a discussion on postings and their tone was inevitable.
I would sure like it if you can start off something like "innovation in Raja's recent songs".
Srinath, let's get serious :)
(Cha, seriousnu sonna adhe secondla, oru smiley type pannitten. I dont think I can ever get serious..unless a lorry mows me down, probably:))

Glad to see you're back ! How about a more elaborate post ('post' - courtesy, Raj ;-)) on your view of the politeness in TFM-DF ? Since this thread was started by a TFM Team member, Ramki, it is only fair that others from the team also post their views ! Furthermore, this is one of the few threads that deals directly with TFM-DF than with TFM alone !

Hi:
I have a problem w.r.t this thread. When I see the forum, this thread shows last activity as :
Feb 2 07.28:39 EST
But when I click on it , the last post I can see is mine at 14:26.
Was this post at 07.28, deleted, then?(Is it possible that someone is too unplite in this thread??:)
If so, why doesnt the "last activity at" FOR THIS THREAD IN THE FORUM doesn't reflect it?
- From: Ravi (@ hope.cs.umass.edu)
on: Wed Feb 3 14:24:07 EST 1999
Raj: The last post was deleted by the poster's request. I didn't bother to change the last updated time on the main page, since I assumed that there will be furhter activity soon and then the time will be corrected, as it happenned after you posted.

Ravi: I was really wondering:If a post in this POLITENESS thread is strong enough to be deleted where we are going:)
BTW, Good thing that you terminated the "ARR is smarter " thread, though I really wish you had done it a couple of hours earlier so that mine would have been the last word :).

Let the issue of politeness or the lack of it take a back seat for a moment. There has to be something against boredom in this forum.
