The aim of this thread is to collect, at one place, interesting
stories, anecdotes, tit-bits etc, related to TFM. A newcomer to
the forum will find this collection very interesting to read. For
example, Ramki mentioned the following story in another thread:

  3. 'Mugam' directed by Gnanasekaran IAS ( Mogamul Director) has come out well. Expecting the release soon.

  This piece of info was told by one of my friends. I hope you guys might kno Mr.V.V.Subramanian (VVS). Of late he is one of the chief violinists for IR.
  
  Seems once they had a tel conversation and IR was talking to him about, what raga you would get on changing the notes. VVS was able to grasp what IR said for say 10 mins. After that, he was totally lost. He just couldn't keep up with IR. He was dumfounded with the genuis in IR it seems.
  
  Here we are breaking our heads and do analysis on what raga the song would be or is. So Geetha, don't pondle too much on the 'ooranjaram' song. What he said was (would be) right.

  Rags!
  As per your posting, they refer their cassette to credit Deva and not any websites! Please tell them that there's this `Thalatta' song sung by IR himself! (Often these cassette companies play hell with the credits, especially when some `collection' albums are made! I have even seen a posting in which Pyramid is supposed to have credited `Mannan' with Deva!)

  Shankar Mahadevan, Sivamani & Louis Banks were the judges of 'Sarigama' compered by Sonu Nigam. It was telecasted on Z-TV on Sept 20th. It was the first round of the Young adults competition. They are supposed continue as judges for a few more weeks.
  
  Louis Banks said that he is originally from Nepal and at a young age moved to Calcutta to learn music. He learnt western classic (piano) from his father. The interesting thing is, his Great Grand father was supposed to have written/composed the National Anthem of Nepal !!
