AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Also; use this thread to discuss this album..

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  there is something peculiar when u see politicians step in against the movies..
  
  i pity Dr.krishnaswamy. totally forgotten from the political field he shouts aloud against the movies to show he is alive. if we note carefully he comes out against ppl who r crowdpullers.(kamal, shankar). can u imagine him going after ramanarayanan for any movie???
  
  rahman has given the music for this movie based on what the script demanded. so his over westernization can be reasoned out.
  
  ppl shouting against boys and womens associations jumping up and down - all coz of one reason. hype created during the release of boys. now everyone wants the spotlight bfore the curtain comes down. there is one valid point. if the movie is really bad and unacceptable then the fans are sure to stay away from it. so u can expect a natural decline of the movie(based on the no. of theaters its running etc).
  if boys is going to successfully make it beyond 50 days then all ppl who are out there and who r trying their best to get some kind of mileage have been defeated.

  Only talk about Boyz here. why to pull selvaragavan or dhanush or any other person here?
  If u can make such statements.. i can ask u.. Why cant i compare this boyz with Mudhal mariyaadhai, Udhiri pookkal, sedhu or azhagi?
  If u compare shankar with selvaragavan and justify.. i can ask why he is not making descent films like Thangar Bachaan, Baala and others?
  
  Why u ppl. always comparing boyz with a movie TI or KK? Why dont u compare it with some other films like sedhu or azhagi? Shall I compare..?
  
  If so.. certainly Malai kku pakkathil kuppai medu vaippathu pol aagi vidum.
  
  so.. dont compare boys with any movie.

  Boys is being compared to TI and KK just because they have similarities...r u dumb?..
  most of the talking point of BOYS exists in TI....
  and about the guy looking into women's blouse when she bents...also exist in KK...in a song that is...which is being aired on SUN TV ..every now and then?....that is why it is being compared?..

  TI and boyz story line are similar. That is what everyone is telling. Instead of comparing the stories of the two films u r discussing about the contraversial scenes in both the films.

  Peeping into a women's blouse is not new to shankar. He has already done it in Gentleman. why dont u compare boyz with his own Gentle man or manirathnam's 'uyire uyire' from bombay or lot of other movies having this kind of scenes?

  i read anandha vikatan review. i felt it might be overboard. shankar is too good a director to have just shakeela stuff for the entire 21/2 hrs in his movie.

  i remember.. vikatan reacted for gentleman.."Ivvalavu unarchi vasappada vEnduma Mr. Shankar?" for that particular scene from Gentleman in its review.
  
  When u compare to gentleman, vulgarity is more in boyz. so everyone condemns it. Its normal. u cant ask why these people are shouting like this now!

  I didn't call TI as sensitively crafted movie..
  
  U must keep in your mind that TI is branded as A film by the censor board and those who do not wish to watch the movie can stay in their home peacefully without going to theatres.
  
  But in case of boyz.. it was given U/A certificate..by Hyd. censor board (not by chennai). He has introduced the film as a dubbed one here. What great this man is?
  
  Obviously shankar has cheated all of us including TN censor board.
  
  If u give U/A certificate then, people will believe that it is a watchable movie. So the danger is more in boyz case..

  so what are all these vulgar scenes you people are talking about? someone looking at the breasts of some woman? ridiculous... it's high time people in india also start expressing their sexual feelings openly... surpressing it only leads to psychological illness.
  instead of demonising sex as some bad sinful western habit, one should find out whats behind all this and learn to enjoy it without any unneccesary guilty conscience, cause it's just natural.
  and besides, isn't boyz a movie about the present modern youth? well, then you know that this is absolutely common among the youth nowadays. and i hope this generation is courageous enough to leave behind the dusted backward moral handicap of the older generation and live their lives with a masters in sex education.
