Excellent movie. Only one mistake that I can identify. Cheran should have had IR to do the BGM.

"Let's learn to appreciate the package as delivered. "
Well, considering the BGM was packaged from the original "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton, sure, let's wholeheartedly appreciate Eric Clapton :-)

Yeah, it had "Unbreak my heart" by tony braxton as a flute piece in the bgm.
Apart from the bgm which was lifted from various hollywood sources, the film was absolutely wonderfull. Enjoyed watching it.

PP has made a very good observation, about the Bollywood mafia taking control of the original movie, typically via the Telugu route and making good profit, and hogging all credit. The original Tamil creator who had put his everything into the movie ends up getting peanuts and almost no credit at all!
Here's my guess on the Hindi remake by Satish Kaushik:
Hero: Salman
Heroine: Sushmita (in Sneha's role), Mahima (in Kanika's role), Bhumika (in Gopika's role, but this time they would make her a 'Madrasi' character with all stereotyped accents and mannerisms (a la Mahmood) and Gracy Singh in the role of Mallika.
There will be a couple of additional songs composed by Himesh Reshamiya picturised in the Alps and five fights and a separate comedy track.
Of course the credit lines will go like this:
WRITTEN and directed by Satish Kaushik
Produced by Boney Kapoor

saw the movie yesterday. Though the movie story line is not new, it has an excellent presentation. Everyone in the movie acted well. Cheran should have avoided tamil patriotism in Kerala part. Otherwise, a nice movie after a long time in tamil cinema.

this post will be a little off-topic,
but anyway we are talking abt movie flaws and I want to point out memorable movie elements.
I was watching Pasa malar the other day. Man, why dont we get comedy like KB Thangavelu style these days? Its just amazing how his dialog delivery is and he uses normal tamil words and makes it sound funny by his body language and dialog delivery. True Artist.
The scene when he explains to GEmini how Shivaji has prospered is amazing. I wanna re-live that.
"Adhu mattuma, coat-u suit-u elam pottukittu anniki apdiye nadanthu poinde enna parthu 'hi how do you do?' apdinnan, nan alavidura saaminu odiyaanthutten."
hahahah very nice.

He is KA ThangavElu! He is the ultimate comedian! You have to see 'aduththa veettu peN'to see his versatality. ''kalyANap parisu', is another one! His comedy is such that you can just play an audio cassette and you will be laughing to your ribs! thanks for giving an opportunity to say a few words!
YIA!

I haven't watched much of Thangavelu. I always preferred Nagesh. But the old comdies are truly gold. That standard is not met by "Karuppu Nagesh" (damn!) and "Chinna Kalaivaanar" (damn damn!)

In stupid Tamil films of yore they will advance a stupid argument that Love will blosson only once.
"oru murai than malarum"
This film kicked that unnatural concept to the dust bin. Bharathi Raja, Balachander , Kamal hasan and all the cliched like should learn from Cheran.
- From: xml (@ 128.148.68.110)

You missed Vikraman also.He is the one introduced that stupid concept which is not possible for the real life.

Balachander concept-a? That love will blossom only once?
KB films usually have this story line...
X loves Y. They get married. X starts loving A. Y starts loving B. Then they solve the expression...
if((X&Y>X&A)&&(X&Y>Y&B))
{ X.wife=Y;
Y.hubby=X;
}
else
{ A.wife=B;
B.hubby=A;
}

Another irritating thing in KB's cinema is that he has this female character that will be so bubbly and offbeat from regular social behaviors.
Worst of those kinds of KB characters was Madhubala in Azhagan. Wanted to kill her every time she came on screen.
And also he makes these characters "Anadhai" and expect audience to go "chu chu chu" when their Anadhai histry is revealed. How can an Anadhai bury the sorrowful life with such bubbly enthusiasm and kurumbuthanam?
Answer is, they cant! That can only happen in cliched KB movies!

All words spoken out of male supremact and chauvanism. In our world, male is the ultimate and women have no say what so ever.

even if KB puts a male character with such adhigaprasangithanam, I will protest doubly!
Adu innum sagikkadhu, romba over-a irukkum. Idhuvey thanga mudiyalai. Imagine a male character in KB movie who is bubbly and talks hurriedly and talks silly things abt life, happiness, etc. What nonsense! very synthectic!

Another stupid story line by KB is -
2 people will love each other deeply and show all explicit signs of their love for the other - but till the last scene they will not directly expose their love , eventhough a 3rd standard child will tell thay they love each other. KB is still continuing this trend in the serials like "SAHANA" - a very irritating stupid one.
This Government clerk cannot think beyond a line!

Friends,
In the movie Autograph, Baradwaj has used the tune of Eric Clapton's 'Tears in Heaven' in the scene in Kerala where Cheran goes everyday to
Lathika's house when she has gone outstation & when he gets to know it's her birthday (in the rain).
He used a female voice to hum the tune of the song.
