Hi all:

Many times we miss to notice certain songs which are too good, just because either the film goes for a flop or some other popular song in the film overshadows this one. Hearing such a song carefully will tell how superbly it is crafted. I will start with a couple of such songs :

1) Kanna Varuvaya (Manadhil Urudhi Vendum). The beginning humming itself is mesmerising. And the interludes are simply superb.
2) Chinna thayaval thandha rasave (Dhalapathi). Soga Rasam pizhiyum paadal. The tune of this song comes often in the BGM. The beginning, the interludes are too great! Its been a very long time I heard this song.
3) Keeravani Iravile Kanavile Paada Vaa Nee (Paadum Paravaigal). A beautiful one by SPB.

  This movie contains great songs, but this song is not included in the movie, so it is less heard. Great song by SJ.
  - Oh Megamey Odum Megamey Engey.... (SPB) (Andhasthu) (MD: CB)
  What can I tell? Beautiful song by SPB.
  - Muthal Mutha Mogam Ithu Enna.... (KJY,SJ) (Puthir) (MD: IR). This song contains great interludes.
  - Ilanguyil Paadutho Ilamail..... (SPB,Chitra) (Kaliyugam)(MD: CB) fast paced duet song.
  - Kalyaana Paatu Naan Paada Ketu.... (SPB, Devi?) (Puthiya Poovithu)(MD: ?)
  I heard that this movie has a great story. Did anyone see this?
  - Kalyaana Selai Unathagum.... (SPB,SJ) (Ampigai neril Vandhal) (MD: IR?)
  - Yaaro Sonnanga Enennu..... (SPB,SJ) (Kaavadi Sindu) (MD: K.Bagiyaraj)
  SPB and SJ handle this song very well.

  - Ammamma Sollamma En nenjil ulla Kathai... (UR) (Melam Kottu Thali Kattu) (MD: ??) UR did an excellent job, look at her voice modulation. The first saranam is a happy one, the other one is sad. Her voice completely changes to the next saranam.
  - Moongililey Paatisaikum Kaatalaiyai.... (SPB) (Raagam Thedum Pallavi) TR proved to be a poet in this song, but the movie bombed at the box office.
  - Kaanpathu Kanavaa Illai Kalai Kindra....(SPB,?) (Kaathal Ennum Naadhiyinley)(MD: Manoj-Giyan).
  - Ivarkal Indiyarkal.... (MV,?) (Ivarkal Indiyarkal). This song is like Then Kizhaku Seemaiyila... from Kizhaku Seemai. MV did a great job. I think this song is a title song and the casts include Sugasini and Santhira Segar.

  - Kadalalai Kaalkalai Muthamidum Puthu... (JC). I don't know the movie name, MD, etc. But a great song by him. A soft melody.
  - Chinnavaley Chinnavaley Sella Kili Yaaramaa... (SPB, Sunantha) (Ithaya Theepam) (MD: CB). CB had a great period in this time.
  - Oh Megamey.......(KJY,Lalitha Sagari) (Chinna Chinna Aasaikal). A slow melody, but a good song.
  - Paaku Thoppu Paatu Keteney... (SPB,SJ) (Aankalai Nambaathey). A melodius song.
  - Kanneeraaley Vithiyin kaikal... (KJY). Sad song by KJY.
  - Ippadiyum Nadakkum Endru... (KJY) (Raasathi Kalyaanam) (MD: MSV). I couldn't believe that MD is MSV. Such a different song.
  - Kanniyaval Naanukiraal Kaathalan... (KJY,Chitra) (Sangu Pushpangal) I think this song is based on a classical raaga. KJY and Chitra handle the song very well.
  - Solai Kuyil Paaduthey Soga... (KJY) (Sangu Pushpangal) It is a sad song, so I don't have to comment on it. KJY fits very well for these type of songs.
  - Vannam Indha Vanjiyin Vannam... (SPB,SJ) (Pirema Paasam) (MD: GA). Good melodius song, but I didn't like the picturization!

  - Rayila Pola Joraa Ponnu Mayila... (Mano) (??) (MD: SG).
  This contains dialogue in between the saranams.
  - Endha Iravu Mudhal Iravu Enaku Theriyala... (SPB)
  Great song by SPB. It also contains dialogue, SPB did a fantastic job. I'm looking for the name of the movie. Anyone has any idea about this movie?
  - Poravaley Ponnu Thayee Naanum... (SPB) (Rayillukku Neramaachu) (MD: SAR)
  Good song by SPB, but the movie bombed in the box office.
  - Poo Pootha Sediyai Kaanom... (JC) (Poo Poova Poothiruku) (MD: TR). A mega hit movie for Pirabu, but this song is less heard.
  - Oru Pattam Poochiyena Vitta Paranthu... (SPS) (Poove Ilam Poove). Good song by SPS.

  hello,
  could anyone tell me the song from a movie(sorry i dont know the movie name) in which pandiarajan acted and one song in it is "vaanathil neeyum veedu kettalaam" the movie deals with the dowry and job problems.
  What i want to know is that there is another excellent song from that i hope it is pandian who acted in that, and the music is by Hamsalekha that song is too good, but iam not getting it can anybody help.

  Revathi's re-endry to the film industry, but bombed at the box office regardless of having great songs.

  Tousar's movie, remake of old MGR's movie. It left the theatre's within one week of it's release. MV did an excellent job.

  IR sing this song very well.
  - Saan Pilai Yaanalum Nee... (IR,SJ) (Manaivi Redi)

  Just a request. I am an avid collector of good TFM. Most of the songs you mention are unknown to me. For eg, Eera vizhi kaaviyangal songs.. They are unknown but great. Can you separate those songs which we must not miss in our collection? This way we can extend our collection.

  I can gurantee that at least 95% of the songs are really enjoyable, it's worth while to collect all of them. I had all of them, but some how lost it. Prob. in summer, I'll upload some of the songs, the songs that have been never heard before.

  I think this song is from a mid-80s film named 'thappu kanakku' or 'mana kanakku', or something like that. this movie starred prabhu and mohan i think. i cant recall further.
