My advise would be to get a Roland XV - 88 or Yamaha CS series.. not sure about Motif
Clavia Nord lead may be another option...

Hello Friends:
Please download my latest score "Dream Comes To Reality". This represents Vijayotsaham set in Desh Raag. For carnatic trained ears sometimes you find the shades of KedaraGowlai.
I dreamt about making a jugalbandi of the following instruments playing this song live.
Veena - Sarod - Piano
Shehnai - Saxophone
Santoor - Bells - Harp
Mridangam - Congo Drums
By god's grace, I am close to accomplishing some of these dreams.
Downloading might take long time, be patience because of it's size.

Let me know your opinion.

Aditya,
I am hearing your "Vijayothsavam" - which is timed nicely on India winning over Pakistan in World Cup :)
I find it rich and full of ideas. Yes! I can imagine how it will sound if we replace with Indian instruments. Very good work. Sounds very rich and full.
Admins,
Please if you don't mind point my music homepage to http://music.beyondaspirations.com/

Aditya nice peice of work.
change in pace, rthym work is nice.
But I couldnt fully appreciate Synthetic Sphuritha a flute or e-guitar would have been better hey thats my 2 cents. lot of time the delay that is applied to instrument jars the melody

Thanks for your comments. I was quiet careful in playing with delays and not to jar the melody...These suggestions are helpful.

Hi friends
I came upon this niece music peice in the
MOTIF forum composed by an amateur composer John Deung Lee aka KINJI(chinese guy).
He has composed using motif for orchestn and for the main violin solo played by himself.
Really amazing peice

Goes to show the amazing talent out there.

guys
can someone talk/explain about augmented chords please
thanks
- From: John (@ 12.163.39.254)
on: Thu Apr 3 16:53:53 EST 2003
when the 5th note of a major chord is sharped, it is augmented. It is cyclic like a diminished chord. eg. C+ = E+ = G#+

John thanks again wonderful site
had fund on quizz section I was able to identify most of times ,but had problems with diminished chords anyway.
Do you have any song samples that actually uses this type.
what about IRs song 'vegam vegam' from Anjali ?
or any other artiste song having augmented chord
Going by definition its used for kind of dark atmoshpere

try to hum 'oru pon maalai naan paada thakathiki thom' song, you'll notice the augumented chord flavor. also this chord reminds Amjad Khan and Nambiyaar!!

talking about chords
do you have any idea about slash chords
its only for notation?
something like G/B, G/F# ?
any use of it?
thanks again
- From: John (@ 12.163.39.254)
on: Fri Apr 4 12:46:46 EST 2003
UV,
G/B means, G major chord with B as its bass note instead of the root note G.

Hi UV,
This is Naveen. hope you remember me. I'm just writing under a different name and will be continuing that. yeah.. I play guitar but not as good as piano. just want to say hello to all 'amateur composers thread' visitors. hope you are all doing fine. I could not listen to many of your compositions as I was busy on something else. please do not get bored if you don't get proper responses. keep on composing.

On Augmented chords. There is accompanying augmented scale. All the intervals in the scale are are whole intervals (two 1/2 intervals). For example, starting from note C
C-D-E-F#-G#-A#-C...etc
You can start from *any* note in the above scale and play augmented chord with notes belonging to same scale.
One Example of augmented runs: Star Wars from movie Anjali

Man ..Aditya..you are amazing. A year or two back you were just an appreciative listener here, encouraging other people. Now you seem like a pro..the bass in self-realization, the strings in the background in cold morning ..you are beginning to sound like my favorite film composer !!! (no brownie points for guessing who it is :)). BTW, dream comes to reality ..is such a soothing melody that it sounds like a lullably with the harp sounds as though like a feather soothing the skin (varudi chelkirathu - in tamil)..While many concentrate on a good melody and a nice rhythm..you seem to do a good balancing act between, melody, rhythm and harmony !!! I really enjoyed your compositions ..
I haven't been visiting this thread because I lack the vocabulary and knowledge to communicate with you guys..but I had to post now to show my appreciation and encouragement..
(Kicha's gulmohar malarE - was it inspired by U2's achtung baby ?)

Hi Naveen welcome back man.
Good to see you.
Swamiji
interesting
well I was listening to that song, thats when i got this doubt.
thanks man.
btw can you explain chord progression of 'Elamai Idho'
naveen/swamiji regarding this slashchords can this be applied to the above song because I do observe a pattern between that chord/bass in this song esp around 1:30
another interesting thing is around 1:23 far the guitar lead the bass plays the seconds(harmony) short but cute apart from the bass punch being played 'onnu thalli'(not on the beat/samam)
