Dear NY metro area Music Fans,
The venue for the NY gathering is in the process of being finalised this evening ( most probably in the Flushing Ganesh Temple hall) for the Saturday evening ( May 22nd). I request all music fans from NY metro area to make yourself free to participate and contribute as much as possible for the program and the success of "TIS" project. There will be a surprise guest who would be willing to preside the function ( who as worked with Maestro in few of the greatest songs of Tamil,...hint.... Rajaparvai) again this will be confirmed by this evening.
For sincere fans of Music( Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam), if you happen to be out of NY or Tristate area please feel free to inform your freinds and relatives who live in NY to attend the program, because of the short time period I am trying to find as many different ways as possible to inform maximum number of
fans to make use of this great opportunity
( It is nice weather here in NY, it is a weekend, and there are easy means to reach the venue and of all it is a life time opportunity to associate oneself with a great project like this involving Tamil literature and music by none other than the living legend Maestro IR)
Dear "serious this time ",
since there was a gathering in NJ in Jan 2004, it has been decided to have the gathering at NY for the benefit of wider exposure to greater number of people in NY for this prject.
Teja, Jag and other telugu fans, If you happen to read this post, please inform y(o)ur telugu fans from NY area to attend the program.
"Music_lover", "Music is Life" I think one of you is from NJ, please see if you could attend with some of your friends.
Please suggest if there are any other active forum, usergroups where this can be anounced to reach more fans in NY/tristate area( due to short time period).

oops! it was in a hurry!
Cool it was to see IR in such a close proximity.
Definitely he is a living legend and a great genius.
Having said all this, with all due respects to the maestro, he (an there are many many such celebrities in India) needs to better his communication skills. He is not able to convey clearly.
Any organizers from Morrisville please execuse me, but you guys need to be better organizers. You guys almost insulted IR. Mike did not work, you blamed some poor guy in public for that, asked audience to hand over the check directly to IR without prior notice. I was really annoyed when noone walked to the stage for the first three four minutes. I thought no one brought their check books. IR was little embarassed with some stupid questions from the audience.
aaah.. I am sorry just thinking aloud.

x, even Rahman is not sophisticated in talking and he belongs to this fast generation. IR is a composer not a public speaker he has music occupying hsi faculties not what to say to the general public in response to embarrassin and naive questions. he does not waste time thinking out answers for thoughtless questions or remarks, instead his music has spoken more ably than the most able speakers and composers, so why expect IR to also be an actor or politician or some corporate guy- the Maestro is the Maestro because he does not like to waste his time speaking to people but instead wants to entertain them with his musical ideas.
x, about all informal meetings there is no preparation it is all like spur of the moment. it is greatly embarrassing at such honoring occassions but the purpose should be accomplished.
bottomline, Indians other than folks from the "IIMs" are not effective or smooth talkers, if u see what i mean ;---) who needs to be a master of bullshi anyways?

x, i hope you didn't find the tone offensive, it was just a casual dialog, not a outburst by any means ;---)
see, i believe only politicians should be able to speak well in public or Rahman, who seems to have spent more than half his career giving interviews ans social events. I am not impressed just because he still talks like a boring person. Kamal Haasan is very interestin speaker

IR is great no doubt about it. But lets face the fact. Many Indian celebrities cannot convey their ideas imprompto. Unfortunately at times they come across rude or arrogant because of this flaw.
Gyan, I beg to differ about Kamal - I have not seen any of his interview lately, but he is another bad communicator... He spends half the interview time in errr...aaa..errr.. aaa...like that.
It is so sad for me to point this out because these two folks (IR and Kamal) are like my gerat idols.
Communication is equally important to reach the fans. Neenga enna venumnalum sollunga naan idhan pannuven nu soldrathayum romba nasukka communicate pannamudium.
Though I dont appreciate most of ARR's work, he is a decent communicator - nothing wrong in giving so many interviews.

Just met IR and came back. I felt very happy to have seen the man who had weaved an inescapable musical fabric in my life, with or without my permission :-) Was also fortunate to performa group song "azagaana nam paNdi naattinilE" before him. Good luck to him in all the efforts of TIS.
