The Maestro has done a lot to Tamil Cine industry. I think it would be also better if the entire Tamil Film Industry and it's popular personalties should help in advertising this great Master piece. This would one of the best token of appreciation/thanks from the Industry. This could be one of the ways to reach the Mass. I definitely know that TIS doesn't need any Commercialization, but still it would be right time for the Tamil Film Industry to Honor the Genius Maestro

Cheran,
Help is give and take policy - like respect. I do not think IR will get any from Film personalities.
He can bank on some NRIs.

Hello fans:
It was nice to announce that raja is going to conduct musical concerts all over world. but the way he talked with press was absolutely idiotic. people might say, he dont like press, but doesnt he talking with the people through them???? iam a hard core fan of raja, but when many of my freinds say that he was too self-centered, i c'dnt tolerate but to be frank, for a normal person, the interview do sound like that. kindly post your comments. iam not against IR but belive i was so depressed since yestreday. why is he doing this way. either he dont meet people and if he does he scre*ws up. athuuvum he is more than 60 years now

dear depressed, made very good point. it is such a strong point that i am compelled to give it major points and also clarify the issues with some valid but unfortuantely depressing points of my own... please follow me...
first of all, IR is very realistic, concerts itself is depressing for a composer, i'll tell you why. secondly, IR or any real genius does not want to get carrried away by the moment, (Rahman though talented is different;-) in many aspects ;---))
why concert is depressing, first of all a real genius composer when performing old songs comes across certain flaws in the composition only he or she can identify, that is no one depression
secondly, it evokes memories which a composer has no inspiration to relive at the peak of his career unless he is aware of his creative limitations and is more people person and he feels he can learn more from mistakes thru playing old songs of his own - where the learning is very limited (IR learned by studying numerous other composers and working with them for major part of his life)
third depressing (very depressing, please hold tight) point to state, a real genius composer will announce "major" concerts only at the end of his career, which is in IR' cases, indicates most assuredly that he is bidding goodbye to film songs almost entirely - so now he is in a moment to embark upon a journey into his successful and glorous past thru "major" concerts.
finally, for a composer as enlightened as IR every issue related to music of film stars might be piddling stuff compared to the real problems of the world, such as hunger, poverty, political unrest etc....
these are really depressing and so music is elevating compared to the problems afore-stated problems of the world including those encountered by the deaf and the dumb, in particular, especially when they can't hear music or sing ;--)
IR is perhaps well aware that his announcing his concerts is hardly a major cause for solutions, but he is also making another major depressing statement, AND THAT IT IS, PLEASE LAY OFF FROM HOLDING CONCERTS OF MY WORKS, WHICH MAY NOT BE WORTH YOUR (IR fans, ReR, etc... ;---)))PRECIOUS TIME, ESPECIALLY WITH PINT SIZE ORCHESTRAS and also, when music tastes are changing very fast, and if at all you are doing concerts please send me the proceeds as royalty so that I may send it to the charities...."
Hey Rahman Sir, when is your next concert?

T Muthu:
By your logic - all the great composers of western classical music must be pretty depressed to hear their work being played again and again to foolish audiences who pay a lot of money.
Great logic brother.. It is depressing.. sorry uplifting to read such enlightened posts.

Are you the moderator of this thread - please clarify. BTW does this thread relate to Tamil Film Music, which is a website for tamil film music - figure this out. If you would like the relevance - well, the comments relate to orchestras playing for public and symphonies are connected to concerts.

IIR wants to concentrate exclusively on the final moves from the 1st to 5th.
He may be free on the 6&7th and again wants total privacy on the 8th when the final mixing will be effected.
Reg.the 6&7th availability I will let you all know once I hear his plans. Thank you so much.
To tell you the fact, even I am contemplating if I should go as it is going to be exclusively between IIR and Mr.King and IIr usually prefers "no disturbance" policy on such matters!!
Even I may go there only by the 6th and that too only if needed.
Will definitely kep you all updated.

SSSSAV,
I forgot to ask one thing, in what format is the music being recorded 24bit/96Khz or DSD ?. I would have preferred DSD. We could release in SACD in future with that.
I understand why IIR wants to have privacy. This mixing work needs so much concentration and very tiring. I have played around with n-track (a freeware mixer) and have an idea about what it takes. Also, lots of decision making is involved, which can make or break the mix. People sometimes can casually dismiss it as 'too artifical sounding' or 'tacky' or something like that. This is not film music for IR to let the sound engineers to ping-pong the sound between left and right speakers :)
I wish him all the best !!
