  I know this thread was started for quite a while. But I have a very very strange question.
  
  Why is this thread "rare hits of IR". This makes me to feel in a different perception, like IR gives hit songs very rarely.

  I just heard the song "Devanin Koil Moodiya Neram " from Aruvadai Naal. Great Song. Ilaiyaraja's voice in the second interlude is too good and the drum beats in this song is just fantastic. I would like to hear comments on this song.

  The Prelude was also great (kum kum thanthum thanthuna mamacheevitham) which was very novel at that time. The chorus contains lot of harmonies I think, any idea?

  Rare hit may also mean excellent songs, but bad movies (flopped movies which had gone unnoticed). For example there was a Karthik movie with Moon moon shen's daughter (forgot the movie name). That film had many great songs which goes like 'Raasaaathi Raasaathi..' and 'Chinna Mani kuyilu...' etc., . Anyway your comment seems to support IR, so no one should feel bad about that.

  Today I listened to some of songs of IR. I will list some of them.
  
  1. Alaiyodum Kadalodum Vilayadum -S.Janaki-Aavarampoo
  2. Saami Kita Solli vacha - Aavarampoo
  3. Edho Mogam Edho dhagam- Kozhi Koovathu
  4. Andhiyila Vaanam Santhana - Chinnavar
  5. Aanandha Ragam -- Paneer Pushpangal
  6. Solai Kuyile Paadum Mayile --?????
  7. Ennulil Engo Ketkum Geetham --Rosappu Ravikaikari.
  
  Especially number 7 is still going on in my heart. I some times wonder how this person name Ilaiyaraja gave these songs. God. I don't have words. Ennulil is one of the greatest compositions ever on earth.

  Song 6 in your list is "SOlai KuyilE KAlaik Kadhire ALLum Azhage ThuLLum RAgame", an excellent number by IR. It happens to be S.P. Shailaja's debut number and the film is 'PoNNu OOrukku Pudhusu', I think.
