  Savithri sings the song "kaaviyaththin thalaivan".
  there is one duet by Seerkazi "naadi thudikkuthu thudikkuthu". for Muthuraman and KRV, I think.

  Actors/actors in the movie: Muthuraman, KR Vijaya, Jayabharathi, Vijayalalitha
  MD: Kunnakudi vaidyanathan
  
  This song sung for Vijayalalitha. VaLLalar's song was used as the first two lines, I remember.
  MR goes to a dasi veedu and finds VL there, singing and dancing this song. He gets into her net.
  
  MR is a "sema villain" in that movie, spoils the life Jayabharathi. KRV, younger sister of JB marries him. Goddess Shakthi who was witness of the murder of JB, enters into KRV and teaches lesson to MR.
  
  A super-o-super meha hit Bhakthi film, from which KRV started acting in many devotional movies as Amman. The film was released in Plaza theatre (Mount Road)
  
  There is another solo by PS for KRV "Aaasai manadhil kOttai katti", a very emotional song indeed.

  I saw 'namma veettu dheivam' in my childhood days. MR first pushes JB into a well and kills her. Later, after marrying KRV, doesn't he do the same to KRV, returns home and gets perplexed to find her alive at home reading Ramayana or something to her in-laws?

  In 'namma veettu deivam', KRV is killed (how I don't remember!!!) by Muthuraman. When he goes back home, (probably after cremating her!!!), bang! KRV (amman in the guise of KRV!) herself opens the door and then continues to torment him till the end! The film has the first ever poem written by Bharathidasan 'engengu kaaNinum sakthiyada!' and part of Anantharama Dikshithar's slokam 'ayigiri nandhini, nandita mEdhini, vishwa vinOdhini nandhanutE...', all sung by TMS/Nagesh.

  Hello Forum: Just came accross a very rare piece from AMR & PS titled "Ulaavum Thendral Katrinilae". Not the one from the movie "Mandiri Kumari" (Modern Theatres/Ulavum Thendral-Jikki Krishnaveni/T Loganathan/GR/Maruthakasi/K. Mu. Sheriff).

  Just came accoss a very rare song by AMR/PS "Ulaavum Thendral Nilavai Pirivathu Koodathendre ..........Sallaba Maiyilum Veghathai Kandu"....something I have'nt heard in all these years.   The AMR-PS song is for Shivaji and Padmini from `Kodeeswaran' and it goes like `Ulaavum thenral nilavai pirivathu koodathenru ninaikiren..'. Give me a couple of days time,I will send you the encorded version. The movie has another great duet by the same pair singing for SriRam and someone (Raagini, I think) `Yaazhum Kuzhalum un mozhi thaano..'. I do not have a good copy of it, if someone can share with us in the `Golden oldies', it would be treasure.

  No idea who the composer was, could be S.V.Venkatraman, because he sings a comedy song for S.Balachander in that movie (Kattikko thaali kattikko).

  sk- PS is the singer, along with AMR.
  
  PS begins with the lines: 'Kulavum thendral nilaavai pirivathu koodaathendru ninaikkiren, poga koodaadhendru ninaikkiren'.
  
  AMR follows with 'Sallaba mayilum megathai kandu odaadhendru ninaikkiren, ini odaathendru ninaikkiren'
  
  I am in doubt about the first word- I have always been thinking it as 'Kulavum'- but everyone is referring to it as 'Ulavum'. Maybe I'm mistaken.
  
  But the female voice is definitely PS. Kodeeswaran seems to have been released in 1955- same year in which PS attained fame with 'Kanavane Kann Kanda Deivam'.
  
  Thank you, Vicky, for bringing up this lovely song. Yes, it is an amazing composition, with both AMR and PS sounding very young and romantic.
  PS mesmerises in the lines 'Ezhil mevum jothiye thaara, inba vaanil ulaavum thaara'. Again the lines 'Kannale vilayaadum raja, nee ennaalum vaadaatha roja' occur in the middle of both the charanams, and there is a wonderful bit of music which follows these lines.

  about last week's "Apoorva Raagangal" programme
  Last time the way Yugendran was the anchor and the way he introduced PS was not impressive. He didnt speak much about PS's acheivements. I have noticed earlier, "james vasanthan" try to give the best info. about them or songs . was it informative ?

  I am a great fan of PS. Some of you may have seen in VJ postings.
  
  I browsed thru some pages. It's an interesting discussion. Can we recollect PS award winning " Naalai Indha Velai Parthu..." from Uyardha Manithan ? ( MD : MSV) What a pitch, bhavam ? It is written that , once recording is over , everyone told PS that this will get her national award and it happened so. On the tune/Raagam of this, this is simply beyond any analysis.
