  Unfortunately, I couldn't find this song on the internet (I did search before posting). But I believe the song covers about 2 octaves. The song starts at lower "Pa" with lower "Ma"showing up once in a while. Then a major portion of the charanam is in the full regular octave. The highest point in the song goes all the way upto the higher "Ga" or "Ma" which then falls down all the way to the lower "Pa" where the song started. A very impressive song indeed. If I find the link for this song or other songs in this movie, I shall post it here.

  one more request. What could be the higher note which PS has touched till now. same way lower notes also. It can be of any song .
  I feel even at higher octaves her voice is very stable and it never shrill.

  Kalai: "She is an exception" should be removed. It should have accidentally got in there while I was trying to edit another piece, that I was writing on Renee Fleming. Thanks for pointing that error out.
  
  FYI, Jules Massenet is a french classical composer who has produced some extraordinary music (1812-1942) during his lifetime. If you (or others) are interested I would be happy to refer you to volume of great orchestral works by other composers.
  
  Anyway I have to keep this short as I was ridiculed once for comparing PS to other classical singers of the western hemisphere or referring them by their work. Sometimes I stray and wander as I gather my thoughts to express the metamorphosis of a particular PS's song that I come across which may have some affinity to one of the elements mentioned below. I am well aware that this thread and others are dedicated to great south indian artists.
  
  Having said that, my references always have been limited as to the lyrics, quality, style and composition but nothing negative. I have had utmost respect and great admiration for PS (and you would have noticed that from my earlier notes), all these years dating back to her songs in the late 1950s.
  
  I appreciate the warm embrace that I have received in other threads and this one in particular and I hope that it would continue.
  
  Before I end this, see if you or others in the PS group can get their hands on these amazing but simple yet haunting songs from the telugu movie "Gundamma Katha" (Savithri, Jamuna, ANR & NTR) by PS & Ghantasala titled "Premayatraluku Brindavanamu" and "Enta Haayi Ee Rayi". Composer Ghantsala or Suluru Rajeshwar Rao?
  
  It was dubbed in tamil with the same group(could'nt recall its name), with the same tunes "Theerthayathiraiku" and "Inbamana Iravidhuve".

  "Premayatraluku Brindavanamu" is "theerththa
  yAththiraikku bridhAvanamum" in thamizh
  (Movie: manidhan mARavillai starring Genini G,
  Savithri, Nageswara Rao and Jamuna).. it is
  a very enjoyable light hearted movie. The song was
  sung by AL Raghavan and PS in thamizh.

  In the 'pazhamudhir chOlaiyilE' song, the dancer is not
  Geethanjali. It is someone else.. it is the same
  actress who dances in 'avaLukkenna azhagiya mugam'
  in Server Sundaram. Also, GVaralakshmi doesn't
  come in that movie or the song. Whatever, padaththil
  andha pAttai kolai paNNittAnga!

  Regarding 'sendhoor murugan kOvililE' (PS version)...
  
  In this film Vijayakumari is a blind girl and SSR
  marries her. Immediately after the wedding he
  goes for a jungle camp and disappears, and everyone
  presumes he is dead. To avoid giving a shock to Vijayakumari,
  Shivaji is forced by circumstances to pretend to be her husband SSR. This song is sung by Vijayakumari
  to Sivaji when she eagerly expects his affection.
  Obviously, Sivaji feels uneasy all through the song.
  (At the end of the song Sivaji creates a fire in
  the room and tells her it is a bad omen and so
  they should keep away from each other for some time.)
  It is a pretty ordinary situation, but even then,
  kavinjar uses some very suitable lyrics:
  
  eNNiru kaNgaL thoongiyapOdhu peNpArkka vandhAnammA
  panniru kaiyil vAriyaNaiththu paNpAda vandhAnammA
  
  konjum kumaranin azhagiya madiyil koNdAda varalAmA
  kungumam sivandha kOdhai idhazhil ondrEnum tharalAmA
  
  These lines are different from those in the PBS-PS
  version that comes earlier in the movie. That
  version comes as a letter that Vijayakumari dictates (sings)
  to her friend Devika for sending to SSR who has gone
  for the camp. That is the PS part. Then
  SSR receives the letter and sings the rest of
  the song in the camp (the PBS part).

  It is Geethanjali. Am 100% sure abt it. It was not "Magic" Radhika as you mentioned. Magic R did not act in Kuzhandaiyum Deivamum.
  
  There was a mistake in my posting. G Varalakshmi acted as Jamuna's mom (not Geethanjali's).

  Wasn't it a villain(ess) lady named CK Saraswati???
  Plus, I think Nagesh and Kutti Padmini are also in that scene (Hindi- AVM's 'Do kaliyaan', in which Mehmood and Nitu Singh replaced Nagesh and Kutti Padmini in that song!)

  Actually, I havent seen the movie yet and I have got the real situation about the songs " pazhamuthir cholayile" and " chendoor murugan koyilile" . thanks to all.
  How about "Kaviaythin thalaivan raamanadi" ? I have read that this song is from the movie "seetha" and lyrics is by kannadasan.
  next, shall we discuus about "Gangai karai thottam" from vanampadi. One of my all time favourite and PS is at her best.

  in K.Dheivamum. But I am not sure about Geethanjali
  in pazhamudhir chOlaiyilE. The mother of that
