TMS&P.SUSEELA VS SPB&S.JANAKI

I certainly think and feel that TMS& P.SUSEELA,jodi which really dominated the tamil film music in the 60"s and 70"s is the BEST duet pair we ever had.Even IR"S favourite SPB,S.JANAKI jodi is no where near to them.

  raj, I have some doubts.
  
  First you say chinnanjiriya will be horrible in high pitch. So, i think that song is not in high pitch. Then why you are think the "high-pitch" stuff here for this song? Or is it you are saying that, that song has a high-pitch version/part which is horrible? If it is so then why you are comparing that high-pitch song with Thoongadha kanneRu which is not a high-pitched song, how does this comparison guarentees PS is better than SJ?
  
  In films where two or more songs are good its been a history that only one song has become very famous. Like, between iLaya nila and thoga iLamayil, the former was a super-duper hit. These two songs cannot be compared between themselves for merit of the singing under a same yard-stick, can they be?
  
  My position here is clear. I like both PS and SJ. I don't have enough statistical information or assessing knowledge to judge who is better. IMHO both are at par in my taste.
  
  But my question is due to the lack of understanding on my part about the statement of yours that i quoted.

  GR, how can this be taken as a yard stick for deciding SJ is inferior/superior to PS? By that time PS was so popular that SJ did not get chances. But tell me after IR's arrival why PS was not getting so much songs as SJ? Do you want to say that PS became old and bad? Inspite of that(being old) PS' voice was as gold as usual ( remember muththu mani maala). So SJ's advent in 80s found PS not in top notch. Even then we cannot conclude that PS has become bad after late 70s. Same is the case with SJ in 60s, IMHO.

  " than nilavu" film was released before " singara velane. it is released in 1960-61.
  " kalaye en vaazkayin thisai maatinai" from kalaikoil is A.M raja P.S pair. She given the same kind of humming.

  Before coming to film, Ps had taken diplamo in carnatic music. SO PS coulnt do "swara varisai" is not the correct answer. In "kanavane kankanda Theivam" , a song "thesulavuthe " was sung by Ps and Ghantasala. It was released in 1954. In that song she do this "swara varisai". This is absolutley a wrong information.

  although PS had a sweet voice, she is not as versatile as SJ, so
  
  SJ > PS, neverthe less PS is still great.

  "why SJ didnt sing Sindhu Bharavi" songs. Can I say "SJ cant sing that song?".

  It depend on the availability of tha singer. She was very famous in all the four southern languages. A director like KSG ( he was one of the top most director), waited for her for two months after she returned from Border(war front). Doesnt mean that everybody waits.
  May be so many reasons like this. But, in PS case, she has done so many better songs than this like " mannavan vanthanadi", " marainthirunthu Paarkum" " nalanthana" "en uyir thozhi" . None of these songs , not even her dreams SJ can think.

  I am cool ..I am expressing my views and you are expressing your views. I should thank you for maintining such kind of decency all over. Only few people we can discuss or fight like this. we get more information or knowledge over discussions.right...?
  I dont open PS Vs SJ thread ? I always believe that only Lata can be compared with PS in all aspects and SJ can be with asha. In tamil SJ and LRE can be compared of their versatality. Bef'80 LRE and after '80 SJ.

  IR FOR Child like voice and for a boy,s voice had used SJ and this added to her variety list...
  But look at the same IR...
  Darling darling,En kanmani Ilamangani,Hai Thendrale(nenjathai killadhe),Mella mella ennaithottu,Manja kuruvi,malligaipoo katilile,all these songs were westernised tunes with very stylish BEATS....He opted for PS only...
  In Sollathan ninaikerene....there is one duet by PS and SJ....Pallavi ondru paduvenadi...after SJ...struggles in her shrill voice..PS ..starts the Charanam...Meera paadum paadal....Listen to this duet ...whose voice is better....all can realise
  IR had composed a song in Thai Moogambikai...Where PS and SJ voices...compete in a copetetion like scene where PS ..completes the song the other voice accepts pointing to PS..voice...Isai Arasi Endrume...Needhan....So we stop here....

  Mr tns the same IR opts SJ for the same Darling song in Kannada film Priya. Even I heard Isai Arasi song from Thai Mookambikai, SJ voice is very sweet in that song so dont get confused where is PS and where is SJ voices. We know where is both. In any case we love SJ's Shrill voice I mean Keech kural. I am not going to insult any artists here.Because I do respect both PS and SJ. One of my fav song is Nija Heluvenu Amma Ninna Kandare Preeti sung by these two. PS sing like amma and SJ like baby voice.And one more song is Nee Nadeva Hadiyalli both duets are soooooper duper hit in kannada. I think these two legends are two eyes in our south Indian cenema. Please dont argue about their talents but do argue about the good songs sung by both pairs.

  I compared her with LRE. For that you are so..happy. Then you laugh liitle more man. I told LRE's versatality. SHe is known for " aabasa paadalga;" in TFM. she is known for third class bed room songs. I didnt know that you will be so happy to compare SJ with LRE.

  Yes, anyone stopped you? . "Chattyil irunthal ahappayil varum". ontrumeillayental satham than varum. athu than ungalidamirunthu varugirathu.
