English class Ist std student having a serious question:
When we say it "b" is silent but when it is written "b" should be part of the spelling. Then why is "b" not there?
Can anyone clear my doubt?
Wouldn't it be nice if it had three b's in the title!

I just heard the DUM DUM DUM songs.. again he has proved he is unique with his own style immitates neither IR nor ARR. Even YSR could not achieve this.. KR is really great.. Songs are great and Fresh. May be i will come out with a detailed review later.

Hi Guys,
I just now heard the songs of Dumm Dumm Dumm. Well, after hearing the songs for the first time, I was definitely disappointed. The music is not a patch on ARR's music or for that matter Uvan Shankar Raja's music. I cannot beleive such a product from Mani's production. Though the first song on "A" side is good ( this reminds you of the Megham song in Kushi) none of the other songs are really gripping. Anyway this is my opinion after the first listening. I shall get back after listening it for a couple of times.

Here is a detailed review of DUM DUM DUM:
The first song is "Sutrum boomi" sung by Harini & chorus. This song starts with a slight folky style and in saranam it slowly transforms to a new color. Good work.
The Second song is "Desingu Raja" by Harish Ragavendar & Sujatha. This number i can say one of best number well backed by some wonderful violin pieces throughout the song.
The third one is "Un Perai Sonnale" by Unnikrishnan & Sadhana Sargam. The best song of the album.
The fourth one is "Athan". A typical folk song or can say a bit slangy. May be very catchy one for folk lovers.
The fifth one is "Rahasiamai" by Hariharan, Sadhana Sargam & Ramanathan. This somg sounds more like a seductive number. The orchestartion arrangement is perfect and may hit the top of the rating charts.
The sixth one is a pretty usual one. Nothing much to write abt it.
Overall the album is sure stands with a different color from the usual groovy numbers we very much used to these days.
My opinion above is after i listened the album for abt four times.

I don't know if you're another one of those alias- avatar's that abound in newtfmpage, but did u really hear the album at all before u passed ur judgement? Why don't u listen to "Un Perai Sonnale" (in my opinion, a beauty) and tell us whether this justfies a "Mani production"(whatever this is supposed to mean) or not. And to compare "sutrum bhoomi" with the kushi no. shows that u r going strictly by visual imagery (of jothika prancing), and not by any aural analysis.

I Agree with Suresh,
Looking at the lyrics, 'SuTRum Boomi' is similar to 'Megam Karukkuthu' and 'Aththaan Varuvaaga' is similar to 'Yaaroo Yaaroodi', But the tunes are entirely different and new. No doubt in that.
I feel this is one of the best works by Karthik Raja after Ullaasam, 'Un paeraich chonnaalee' and 'Aththaan Varuvaaga' are wonderful numbers, Other songs are also good.

Yes I also heard Dum Dum Dum and to be frank, it was just a mediocre effort by KR. Well, I do like KR's works, but then I've got to be fair.
Only "Un perai sonnaaley" and "Ragasiyamaai" are good (Really good ones folks !!!). Others leave much to be desired.
VERDICT : Disappointed to hear such a lacklusture track in Manirathnam's movies (Of course, he's only the producer)

Got hold of DDD yezday and was quite surprised at KR's range. Good effort. My fave was ragasiyamai, i suppose it's the panthuvarali base that had me hooked.
All the songs are very listenable and I really look forward to some mani-style picturisations. Actually, KR's music in DDD has a very good combination of IR's orchestral play (with violins et all) and ARR's tune manipulating skills (the way tunes go off tangent and back, in a very aesthetic way - particularly in desingu raja!). Very progressive work...I'm sure KR will come out of his bad patch after DDD's release.
Hats off to Karthikraja!

Hi,
After about 5 listenings here is view on DDD
Definitely this is not a mediocre album by any standard.
Songs are very refreshing.
There are 6 songs.
"Sutrum boomi" - Harini/Good song
This songs is a fusion of folk and rock.
1st bgm is very impressive. . 8/10
"Desingu Raja" - Harish Ragavendar & Sujatha/Impressive orchestrization(WC)
The charanam is very catchy. 8/10
Un Perai Sonnale-Unni Krishnan/Sadana Sargam
Beautiful song.
I love this song. Very melodies. 9/10
Athan-Subha-Chitra/sivaraman/Harini
The situation is something similar to rukkumani song from roja. KR has mixed folk with classical and has done a very neat job. 9/10.
Rahasiamai - Hariharan/Sadhana sargam
To me this is the best song of the album.
Simply amazing. The situation of the song very similar to Hai rama from Rangeela.
Should be on top of the charts very soon. 10/10
Krishna
Nothing much to say abt this song 6/10.
Overall I am very impressed.

Wow... a great followup to 'Ullam Kollai poguthei'...
all (atleast almost all) songs are non-arrish...
(which is a great relief!!)...
A chart buster for sure....
With the enemy camp giving UKP, thulluvatho illamai and now this... wonder how ARR will react
in his next movie... Sure hope he tries something
diff next time...
The battle is greatly poised... hoping no one
wins and the battle just keep continuing... and we
the listeners can win :))
