...titled "Thendral" starring Karthik, produced by Oscar Films V.Ravichandran. Is it Ilayaraja or Vidyasagar? Please let me know. Also, provide a link, if you guys can, where it confirms that Ilayaraja or Vidyasagar is doing the music for Thangar's next film.

And now take this
Lets try comparing IRs dhandiya - dilbaru jaane[kalaignan] and ARR dhandiya - dhandiya aatum[kadalar dinam]
1. dilbaru- the voice of mano fills b4 the prelude and the prelude comes with shehnai, tabla and a string instrument[ i dunno the name guys]. the prelude flows gradually to the pallavi with a female voice joining with the male voice the rhythm remaining the same. the pattern follows till the 1st interlude where the same instruments r playing with a short piece frm a flute. all the instruments keep pace with the rhythm and there is no change over in rhythm. the song freely flows like this to the charanam and then to the 2nd interlude where the flute is missing with diff type of orchestration frm first interlude but the still the rhythm is same. then we start listening to the 2nd charanam which gradually goes towards the finale of the song where pallavi comes in with a faster pace, towards the end of the song the rhythm reaches its crescendo with voices joining into say aahhaaaa heyhey.
this is good composition of a dandhiya song in its authentic form.listen to any dandhiya song and ull find this true that only towards the end of the song the rhythm changes, that too not abruptly but in a gradual way where the dancers start dancing faster to keep up with the rhythm shouting aaha hey hey in a frenzied mood.
2.Dhandiya - the song starts very nicely with shehnai and tabla and the sound of the stick [ i dunno its name man???]is very clear in this song [ may be becos of the recording quality ARR keeps up]. the singers join in and for teh pallavi the rhtyhm pattern is good till the 1st interlude where in comes the shehnai, table etc., with a flute added. but after the flute is played the song definetely takes a diff rhythm with accelarrated pace. and i find a break in the rhythm and it is not a gradual tempo building as in IRs composition. the rhythm suddenly changes in jolt.atleaast ARR cud hav stopped here and kept up the rhytm but for the 2nd interlude where in the singers sing the charanam again he changes the rhythm pattern which doesnt sound good[listen to the female singing anbae vaaa.. then suddenly the male singer burst in with dhandiya aatamum]. there is 4 times in the whole song where ARR changes frm here to there. but towards the end when the female sings anbae vaaaa the changeover to male singer where he sings valiba nenjagal si more gradual and the tempo builds up to the finale. but ARRs composition came after IRs and he wud ve thought not to make it sound similar to dilbaru so the singers start singing oooooooo.... ohhhhhh...
u can come up with reasons as to the situation of the film here that the hero is searching his lover but in the other film both r a in happier mood. i too thought abt it. cud be justified if ARR had kept up with the rhythm pattern and looked into that they didnt change abruptly.
so my conclusion is IR had rendered a authentic folk and ARR had confused himself and the authenticity to the folk style he adopted is not gone.

Bengali Folk??
'Yengeyo Thikku Desai' from Mahanadi is a bengali folk song?? Nonsense! Only one instrument has been used (dholak) in that song and it becomes Bengali folk??
IR thinks he can use some north indian instrument and call his music north indian folk.
Dil Bar Jaane is a folk song?? It is a Dhandiya song which is very easy for our south indian MDs.
Hahaha I marvel at the fact that u accepted IR can NEVER EVER come up in a hindi top 10. ARR's song always come and I wont even talk abt that. I am talking about Veerapandi Kottayile in its own tamil version with tamil lyrics (not dubbed; not copied) coming no. 1 in super hit muqabla's hindi top 10!!!
WHat to do? TT is a flop album according to you. hahahaha. ARR accepted the failure of the movie and not the songs.
And u call Kalaignan a hit album?? BULLSsHIT Only one song "Endhan Nenjil" is good. REst are the same old IR-ish compositions.

rajasaranam
I probably will never listen to Dil Bar Jaane becos its a stupid attempt at Dhandiya by IR who thinks the mere use of instruments will transform his hardcore 'tamilish' musical feel into northie folk
U think ARR is just like IR keeping rhythm the same and making it sound boring???
Thats one of the hallmark of ARR where he tried to do something different and the song was a runaway success!
Stop cribbing now and dont make a fool of yourself comparing some shitt tunes and justifying them!
U merely describe the Dil Bar Jaane and I cant find one good reason in your write-up on why it is a convincing song!!
Whats the point if it is assembly line like authentic?? Where is the individual creativity then to make it sound different in your style??
Nonsense stuff really

Nobody is going to be impressed with your childish posts!
Any person with the capability of using some of his intellect will understand what I said.
IR has been truly awesome in TN-Andhra but has not really reached outside of his south niche! ARR has been phenomenal all over India and not just within TN-AP borders.
ARR is an all-Indian musician and he has catered to the whole stretch of India. Even with a strong western influence he has been able to capture the heart of the North Indian music listeners!
ANyway it is an untold fact that any person in the streets of punjab or Rajasthan will know ARR for his music. The is true internationalism in music!

rajasarnam,
IR composed music in the "Economic boom"(1992-2003) period rite? then y didn't his albums sell more than ARR's..... y do u credit ARR's success to econmomic boom.. isn't it childish and unsportive of IR and IR-fans..... and also u guys dunt understand ARR's music...u always search for Tabla base and "Raga shudham, laya shudham", and crap which u'll never find in ARR's songs.... that's y u criticise him.....but u guys dunt know there is music beyond wat THYAGARAJA has thought offf......

Wat u find in ARR's music is wat u find in MJ, Yanni, Kitaro, Vangelis, J.Goldsmith, Ace of Base, Peter Gabriel, Boys II Men, etc. And i'm only talking abt songs here. I haven't gone into his rubbish orchestration nor his rubbish bgm.
for heaven's sake, IR is a composer.
don't compare a musical arranger with a composer....PERIOD.
