Vijay's GILLI

Vijay's GILLI is the remake of the Telugu smash Hit OKKADU, which had Mahesh Babu and Bhoomika. The Tamil film is produced by A M Ratnam and directed by Dharani. But who is the Music Director. Is it Vidhyasagar, because the directer is Dharani or is it Mani Sharma, because he composed the Telugu original. Will it have the same tunes from Telugu, because they were super hits??

  Vidya Sagar has become worst offender in TFM by giving continuous chance to Udit Narayan or 'naraasam.To top it all he has used sukhwinder singh in this movie.I am surprised to note that he prefers to use KK instead of Madhu or Harish.
  
  I have lost respect for him. Why blame ARR as long as MDs like VS patronize/pamper lousy singers and tamil Killers like Udit/Sukhwinder

  LOL, I concur. I like them better than the Okkadu songs, though Hare Rama is a pretty cool song even if it is a copy.

  The Gilli songs are really dissapointing, none of them sounds good. I dont think Gilli will be a hit movie after hearing the songs,bec songs in the movies are very important these days. What happened to Vidyasagar?? He had a good opportunity to show that Dharani-Vidyasagar combination is successful combination.

  After the success of Dhool you should expect more from Gilli but what a blow. Totally Dissapointed! Why did he use singers ho cant pronounce tamil properly eg in "sha la la" Sunidha Chauhan sings tharuvee instead of thaluvi.

  the songs suck by themselves.but at least they are entertaining to watch cuz of trisha and vijys dancing.saw the trailor today abunch of action...followed more action songs here and there and oh yeh to make it complete love.

  Okkadu's (Original of Gilli) story!
  
  Obul Reddy (Prakash Raj) is a factionist in Kurnool. He falls in love with Swapna (Bhumika). Obul Reddy kills Swapna's brother (Achyut) when he passed a remark about the age difference between Obul Reddy and Swapna. Obul Reddy also kills another brother of Swapna. Horrified by the impending danger, father of Swapna gives her certificates and money and asks Swapna to go to her uncle's place in USA. Obul Reddy catches her when she starts traveling.
  
  Ajay (Mahesh Babu) is a Kabaddi player and is the son of an Assistant Commissioner of Police (Mukesh Rishi). At this juncture, Ajay - who is in Kurnool to play Kabaddi games - rescues Swapna from the hands of Obul Reddy and takes her to Hyderabad. Ajay takes Swapna to his house and hides her in his room. Ajay, with the help of friends, arranges passport, visa and flight tickets for Swapna.
  
  Mean while, the Home Minister (Rajan P Dev) who happens to be the brother of Obul Reddy asks ACP to search for Swapna and the guy who has taken away. When ACP realizes that it's his own son who did the crime, Ajay and Swapna runs away from his home and hides in Charminar.
  
  The rest of the story depends on how Obul Reddy traps the couple again and how Ajay emerges victorious.

  I've seen the original Telugu film. Very fast paced masala entertainer, typical of Dharani's films. No wonder he chose to remake it. For some strange reason I'd prefer Surya in the title role!

  More like MGR film.Intense fast moving love story but Vijay ,Prakashraj, Trisha all look Pale and lack freshness...It is again irritating again to see another heroine moving lips for Savitha"s dubbing voice.This film is essentially for front benchers....KUTTHU,GILLI,ARUL,ETHIRI,AYUDHA EZHUTHU all are films against one main Villan character and these routine films are sure to tarnish the Pleasent feelings generated by Cheran's team work AutoG TNS
