To those of you who are wondering about the song, "Deivam Indru" from the album MVU, here's what I think: The album(CD) MVU that I own has been released by the Ramy Records which also released the "Raman Abdulla" album. In that one (RA) few songs were added on as fillers under the title, "Moorthiyin Muthukkal". This is just a mere reproduction of some popular hits like, Telephone manipol, Azhagiya Lila etc. all with a change of lyrics only. For instance, they changed the Telephone manipol song into a duet sung by a father & son (in which the son is demanding the father for his marriage approval). The lyrics were extremely hilarious. The same thing might have happened with "Deivam Indru" & "Singam Ondru" songs, because it's again released by Ramy Records. It's definitely not part of the MVU album. What do you guys think?

Kalki's review of Desiya Geetham praises the bgm
and re-recording, apart from also praising the songs.

Kiruba:
I also enjoyed the songs of Sendhooram. Particularly
I enjoyed IR's jolly singing in un pakkaththilE
oru poovai vachchaa. The beats in the song
remind me of pachchai malai poovu and
paadha kolusu songs. Bavadharini has done
her best to spoil the nice aalamaram tune
by giving a bland tone.
I saw the movie on video yesterday. Oh, IR's music
is a waste for such an ordinary run-of-the-mill
village theme. The director is a totally new guy
with little experience in making movies and the
movie is dull!!

Hi everyone,
Here is a bonus news on IR's score for the movie 'Time', Maestro has made excellant 30 tunes for the movie , The director has mentioned it is an uphill task (same words) to select seven out of 30, The movie is a musical love story. It is a bilingual movie in Telugu & Tamil, later they plan to dub it in Hindi too. Eagerly awaiting for this album.

VanaThil Aadum from MUV is really a good melody number. It has been sung both by Mano as well as a
female singer I think it is Chitra.

IR's new albums - I have noticed a pattern. He is a using a lot of percussion now (albeit electronic often times). I am listening to vayasupulla vayasupulla from Annan, even though at first blush it looks trashy, it is really musical. The lyrics are not helping this guy.
When I was in India everybody was telling me that ARR is being really helped by the nice lyrics of Vairamuthu. Its a pity these two guys dont work together.

IR has definitely changed his style, but not that much to make it look ARR's innovativeness outdated. ARR's style is what is really cracking up everybody to wake up. Including IR, now that Deva is uses scanners to copy IR's orchestration and musical notes, too I think IR should just move to a different arrangement, returning to more of Indian folk and carnatic instruments I think. But i know that is not welcome in today's hip market. kids want to dance and we need to hear IR like in MVU.

I recently went to India and bought Desiya geetham and a whole lot of IR casettes. This is what my opinion is,
Desiya Geetham:
1. En kanavinai kel nanba is a masterpiece. The lyrics falls down at some places - sounding lighter than the music for the song - lyrics at those places are more like typical ARR/VM combination. HH is given a remarkable performance.
2. Naan Vakkapatta - The interludes and orchestration are great, but tune is upto that level.
3. An ultimate emotional masterpiece - "Vaanathil irunthu kuthichu vandana " from IR. Sounds like Vennilavukku vaanathai pidikkalaya. Really great.
4. If you like Pushpavanam Kuppuswamy's villupatttu style singing - you will like 2 more songs in the album. Personally I like them too.
I remember hearing thalaimurai to be good. But will update later.
My updates otherwise,
MVU - good as an album except for the starting piece of one song where every known name sings. Etho Etho and vaanathil aadum are great.
