Question for all those who have domain names of their own to host their work. Who do you recommend to buy storage space from? I'm not sure if many of these storage sites out there allow the hosting of music files(.mp3/.rm).
Thanks!

GUTEN TAG!!! I am in a different time zone...Guess where:-))
Beautiful Music with wonderful violin performance. I think composer is deeply interested in Hotel California Song.
Hotel California song lives forever as a good song format demonstrating lessons on Chord Progressions, arrangement concepts - Innumerable songs were made like that from then on...But most of those songs are good and can't call as copy...this is not even an inspiration:-))
I wish to listen from you guys about indian film/non-film composition which lives as song format...from which many songs can be made...
Please don't think that I am asking for copiable songs...i am asking more like a "sampradaya/sanskruthi"... which can be followed by others but yet in their own way with identity...
Regards,
Aditya

Aditya,
Thanks for your response and I am glad you liked it. I posted it for opinion since I liked the conceptualization of that piece. It was recorded on the stage and hence the bad quality. It was composed by Harihar and Ramesh of RPI (Troy, NY) and the performance was for an India awareness campaign. I had the opportunity of performing with them in the band. There were more pieces too.
You have a sharp ear to have recognized the violinist's possible inspiration in Hotel California on that piece that you have made a comment on another posting. Most of the songs of Eagles would be quoted as examples of what you recognized in Hotel California ('Lyin eyes' comes to my mind immediately). I guess that made them one of the greatest bands admired by fans who didn't have any liking for rock music too.
I am not sure if you could find such song formats in Light music, since its primary focus would be on the melody and seldom the harmony. Or maybe we could only look at it from the other side: some kind of generic melody patterns which could be improvised.

Hi Guys..Jay here..been a long time!
Yesterday I went for the Yanni concert...totally amazing! All the musicians were best in their class. There were like 8 or 9 Tritons on stage! No kidding. 3 keyboardists. Dont miss it if you get a chance!

John you welcome
Da vinci
nice explanation.
Eagles is one of best rock bands period.
Aditya i didnt quite get your question
you meant to say for example take the chord progression of hotel california and make new melodies using similar pattern?
that is very much possible.
but can we apply the same parameter to light music I am not quite sure?
but there are quite few tamil songs with same or similar standard chord progression
Experts here please give your opinion

John,
That was brilliant ! I have expressed my admiration earlier in this thread on your expertise of the Piano and I was glad to 'see' it too now ! Man, you have taste, and you know what, I felt like listening to another scintillating rendering of yours : 'Kanmani Paapa'. I may have to click the back button atleast 100 times to find the link, I guess. Would appreciate if you would let me know that link too. Thank You.

That was wonderful. I was amazed looking at the coordination of the fingers. Lovely! Thanks for sharing.
Talking about piano - one of my close friends is a pianist (born and brought up here and learnt classical music for 14 years). He played "Janmo ki jwala" from Hey ram and thinks that that composition is one of the most difficult ones in terms of the chord progression. It took him solid two days to actually get the whole thing down to the last note. He was later hooked on to it and asked me for more IR's compositions.
John, have you ever tried playing the whole piano prelude/interlude of this Hey ram song. It is just one amazing composition.

Thanks for your comments. Kaumudi, nice to know that you have a pianist friend. I have'nt listened to Hey Ram prelude/interlude but if I come across that piece, will definitely give a try. usually I prefer playing technically challenging pieces than showing chord skills.
aditya, aruL, thanks for your feedback. yeah.. you can call me whatever you wish! hope you all had fun.. have a nice weekend!
