Dear Friends,
Let us vote for 'Adi Rakkamma' from THALAPATHI as our choice for the World's Top Ten Songs poll conducted by BBC!
I am suggesting this song because if in case the BBC people listen to the nominated songs, they will feel knocked out on hearing our Maestro's 150 Vioins' Strings Ensemble!
Let us all do it at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/us/features/topten/
Yours Always Musically,
Vijay.

"you refuse to see my point-singing VM as a pop song is synthetic."
Wat exactly do u mean by singing VM as a pop song?
Is there some reason why "Vande Mataram" cannot be used in the lines of any song which is not pure classical?
And even if tat is the case, then where does the word "synthetic" come in?
Like CP put it,
">>you refuse to see my point-singing VM as a pop song is synthetic<<
well that is what u have been sayin all along....reason??"
The rest of ur post is digression from wat I intend to discuss. Tempting as it is, I'll leave it for now.

"Since ur pretty relentless, I'll humour u wit a response."
Who is relentless? may I ask? If you think your posts are bathed with 'self-professed' humour, you better open your eyes and brain-cells, and think again.
"Of course u r an ARRFan, and jus bcos one attacks OISG, AY & WN doesnt mean the person is a HCIRF either"
If your intention was to drag in 'the others', one did pat ur back..heh, but lost one did you?
"And why isn't it surprising u ascribe to Freud's theories. And why do some get rubbed the wrong whenever they read any info tat contradicts their fantasy of how things shud be, and make personal attacks bcos of an inability to rationalise?"
In order to rationalise, one needs to cross the second stage, fixations are very evident...
"The knowledge of musical technicality in her(lets assume it is a she) posts is zero.............. let alone the top 4?"
it was a simple or obvious observation. I don't expect to be proved otherwise. How can I live the torture if you started explaining the nuances of music???
"And wud u term Yaaro's anti-ARR posts in the "World's Top ten revealed!!!" as some of those which are best ignored? Or wud u term ur own PIM posts as best ignored?"
Please ignore the PIMs or anti-ARRs with more determination. didn't you preach to others to ignore the PIMs? Couldn't resist to bite the bait, heh ? and am i encouraging such long retorts, as well?
"Start treating PA making PIMs like u wit cordiality, stop posting my opinions in tis forum"
Hey hey hey, don't use the PIMs as an excuse for the lack of your civility or cordiality.... you can do better than that...sure...believe me...
"Or did u hope we wud stop sharing the latest info on ARR's releases (again, something which rubs many here on the wrong side for some strange reason)."
By the way, who is WE, I thot that one of the issues here was about personal attacks. Why drag in the others who are staying out of your stupidity. But before I forget......, please don't stop posting the latest info on ARR's releases (the most important reason I visit this forum).
WN, sad to say, but you are living upto my expections....

"If you think your posts are bathed with 'self-professed' humour"
If u thought the word "humour" in the abv sentence meant "funny", u need English lessons badly.
""Of course u r an ARRFan, and jus bcos one attacks OISG, AY & WN doesnt mean the person is a HCIRF either"
If your intention was to drag in 'the others', one did pat ur back..heh, but lost one did you?"
Drag in others? Who dragged in "others" when posting as WN-OSIG-AY? And who patted and who lost? which world r u living in?
"In order to rationalise, one needs to cross the second stage, fixations are very evident..."
Tat's not good enuf an excuse for ur behaviour. I'd have believed u if I believed in Freud.
"it was a simple or obvious observation. I don't expect to be proved otherwise. How can I live the torture if you started explaining the nuances of music???"
And here's an observation on ur posts. The musical knowledge, relevance to the topic etc have been breath-taking (so far in tis thread). Keep it up. I wont be able to bear the torture if u stopped.
"Please ignore the PIMs or anti-ARRs with more determination. didn't you preach to others to ignore the PIMs? Couldn't resist to bite the bait, heh ? and am i encouraging such long retorts, as well?"
Like I said, why r u so anxious to stand in the way? Did u hope I'll ignore ur posts?
"Hey hey hey, don't use the PIMs as an excuse for the lack of your civility or cordiality.... you can do better than that...sure...believe me..."
I too know I can do better. I choose not to wit certain characters. But wat's your problem here?
"By the way, who is WE, I thot that one of the issues here was about personal attacks. Why drag in the others who are staying out of your stupidity. But before I forget......, please don't stop posting the latest info on ARR's releases (the most important reason I visit this forum)."
WE is the 'we' who were chosen for PAs in the new releases thread by a PIM similar to urself. And I see u have other reasons to visit the forum as well.
"WN, sad to say, but you are living upto my expections...."
Be sad... u can expect me to continue living up to ur high expectations. dont hope otherwise.
by the way, wat happened to the rest of my questions? Or were they too hard for ur first stage, self-fixated Mundamness?

BBC' realizing that the world is no more dancing to western tunes because listeners of eastern nations who are very familiar with western hits themselves feel that their own songs are superior must have given BBC a new revelation. so i think they turned it around and cooked up a poll chart to send a kind of empathatic message or signal to various new up & coming demographic, to recognize phenomenon worldwide that those who were in minority yesterday are having their voices heard?!
A Nation Once Again, The Wolfe Tones for the IRA
2. Vande Mataram, Various artists for a nation where Hindus who were treated like minorities are actually a major force in the outsourcing world
3. Dil Dil Pakistan, Vital Signs for a beleagured nation
4. Rakkamma Kaiya Thattu, llayaraaja (the one and only real winner of the poll put down in deference to the first 3 and to deflect world attention from true musical talent that coming from India)
5. Poovum Nadakkuthu Pinchum Nadakkuthu, Thirumalai Chandran for the troubled Srilankan Tamils
6. Ana wa Laila, Kazem El Saher for the Arabs
7. Reetu haruma timi hariyali basant hau nadihruma timi pabitra ganga hau, Arun Thapa - Sherpas & Gurkhas soldiers that served in the British army.
8. Believe, Cher (For the Health Industry and fastest growing section of the demographicsOctogenarians)
9. Chaiyya chaiyya, A R Rahman (for Webber for narketing a minority idea)
10. Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen - Gays (a major minority but now the fastest growing sexual orientation that could soon make Cloning a normal way of life.
Man, I mean MAN, what a crazy poll that was!

If Rakamma kaiya thattu is the best song of the world or even the best song of India, then God help the World/India!
