Has any music label been finalised for this effort?
The right choice of an established music label is crucial in marketing this unique piece of work - It will have to ensure that the album is well-publicised and promoted well to reach the vast global audience.
I hope Kodambakkam labels like BB, CC music or 5star, 7star music do not get to release it!!

Father Jegath is a gem of a human being. I am humbled by his knowledge of tamil, indian music and western classical music. I am moved to tears by his candor and dedication for the project. Any naysayers/disbelievers should be able to cast aside their reservations on hearing this. I have talked to him over the phone sometime hearing his voice again is a pleasant experience. The calmness in his, the confidence in his tone and the humility to accept/share his doubts/misgivings is something that I will learn to cherish and emulate.
Whoever recorded this and uploaded this deserves my utmost respect, gratitude and best wishes.

All,
I was amazed by Fr. Jegath's speech. He sounds a confident and a practical man. I am an NRI and I feel the same as Fr. Jegath, that we have alot in our country which are not popularised because of us rather than the people in other countries. Similarily, we need to respect their works too.
I am in the UK. I am eagerly awaiting the CD. Will the CD be released all over the world or do I need to order a CD from India? Also can the donation be anonymous?
Thanks Sankar and others who are involved in the project. I am eagerly awaiting reply.

SSSSAV/ TIS team,
What about the music label? Has it been finalised yet? I hope it's an established 'global' name, who are not only fully aware and supportive of the project's goals, its concept, its unique genre and the global audience, but also have the resources to produce quality media as well as publicise and market it efficiently.
Suggestion: Along with the CD, there should be some inlay literature that gives additional information on the project, on the ancient text, as well as how it was conceived, developed and realised. This informative inlay card/ booklet will make the product "complete" and will reach the audience more effectively and make them aware of the uniqueness of this effort.

I saw the programme of Fr. Jegath. In his over enthusiasm to promote the project he was obviously going over board without realizing what he was talking.
He said, “The global orchestras always play the Bach, Beethoven, Mozart but they don’t play anything of our music. This is because it is not available in the notation format. TiS is born out of this desire to produce a music that will show case our culture to the world as well as attract the global orchestras to perform Indian music. Once TiS is out, then they may play this in their concerts.”
L Subramanian has many compositions to his credit. But all of them involve himself and his Indian ensemble along with a classical orchestra. Notations are available only for the orchestral portions. Hence no orchestra can play it independent of him or his ensemble. Because the composer has kept himself as the performer in mind.
What Ilaiyaraaja wrote for his project with the RPO was a complete orchestral work involving only a classical orchestra. Hence any other orchestra can play that if the score and the music are available. Availability of the music is a must for the orchestra and conductor to listen and read the score to get the feel of the composition.
But from whatever information available sofar, TiS is a project involving not only a classical orchestra but also a voice ensemble reciting the verse in Tamil. Hence it just does not fall under the category of pure orchestral work where any orchestra can perform it any time.

Good point.
1. Though I don't know much about classical orchestra's and how they are played, I was wondering if the voice ensemble had also be notated what would prevent any orchestra from singing (if not singing in tamil atleast humnming it -like OOOO).
2. Also, Thiruvasagam is being translated in English from what I have read here and probably the voice ensemble has also been sung in English.
So, Fr. Jegath might not have been entirely wrong.

I know Handel's Messiah has a voice chorus - but it is still played without it by orchestras.
I am a poojyam when it comes to these musical things. Some one more knowledgable can expand on this.
