AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  I was watching khaka khaka songs and i have a question how is watching aunty ramyakrishna dancing like that not vulgar and watching kiren pole dance like a stripper in arasu not vulgar?oh yeah that's right thamil nadu is full of hypocrites.

  ARR didint do the BGM...dont joke my dear...ARR scored all the BGM...as u can hear his voice at the BGM (when the BOYS will go to jail for composing the song for the terrorist!!!)

  Vivek is truly a great comedian. Look at his spontaneous jokes in an online chat at sify today.
  Every reply of his had wit; and the fact that he has made it at the spur of the moment makes it amazingly great. Btw, he answers a few Qs abt his role in boys.

  You must also note that he gave aalavandhan a high rating and also movies like saamy and dhool lower ratings. He rates movies on pretty much how different they are. He does give good reviews but I feel that the reason this movie only got 2 outta 4 stars is because story line is just average. And most movies even super hits like saamy get only two stars if the story isn't fresh.
  
  And i agree that the story of BOYS isnt fresh but the way that its presented is what makes it great.

  Balaji gave a high rating to another poor movie (cant remember which one).
  
  I think he basically expects fresh ideas and he commends movies with fresh ideas.
  
  Parthiban Kanavu was too cinematic for me. Two girls that look exactly the same!! Extremely fanciful! I would never let that kind of fanciful dframa get 4 stars in my ratings. Balaji gave 4 stars for frsh treatment and matured adaptation.
  
  On the other hand Kaaka Kaaka with its racy screenplay only gets 3 stars??
  
  NOt to degrade him, but his reveiews are not something I am eager for. I prefer "The Hindu" or "Kumudam/AV"

  I think though PK was a dud in the story line (very cinematic as V said), but what kept the movie interesting is the Screen play, and added to that, I never forwarded any songs they were gr8(even though i did not watch the songs fully, i kept listening to them)..
  
  Now-a-days, all hit movies is not hit the based on plot/story but the Solid screen play and a helping hand by the MD.. ex Dhool, Saami, PK
  
  Probably that is somewhere along the line BOYS lacked it (which i cannot comment seeing only 45 mins of the movie)

  Boys suckks man.. shanker could've avoided lots of unwanted seens and vulgars. For that story line he could ve finished the movie with a small budjet. and for the aley aley song they have tried to make it like matrix... it sucks. they are in the air too often in that song.

  TI and KK fame director Selvaragavan on the movie "Boys". He supports Shankar outright with the theme. He feels tf should change to Hollywood standards by revealing all details. You know what?????????

  No offense or anything but i personally think there was no screen play to PK. Songs werent good either we're living in the 2000's not the 60's or 70's. I personally think there are two things that make a film run in tamil nadu but this is just comming from the news i read on the net since i do not live in india. But i feel one is idiots( how many times are you going to watch the same plot story over and over presented the same way over and over) and 2. itll run if it has a good story.

  hello
  BOYS vcds r out in the market-some 70 bugs at the burma bazzar maams....my college students at hostel have loaded the movie in all systems..
  the picture is fine-it is same as 16:9 DVD format-perhaps they might have copied from DVD or LD i suppose...the audio is not a 5.1 dts but good with 2.1
  i dont know how shankars technique flopped there...
