I have found since I came into this forum that there are many IR lovers who, just would not pay heed to listen to great works of Viswanathan Ramamoorthy or the like who had done wonders to the Tamil Film Music, but only go about claiming him to be the best.
Similarly, the ones who do not treat IR as the best have not found an opportunity to compare his works or so called creations with the great works of other musicians.
I would like the arguments to confine only to the Tamil Film songs in their completeness, and please, don't bring in the Re-recording or the Back Ground Music of a film, or separate albums from the MDs if any. After all, when we hear songs we don't always think of the movies they came from!

I think none of us can be truly objective or unbiased all the time. Inductive logic and statistical trends would suggest that we all base our actions on certain beliefs (biases). For example,a)ESK cassettes got sold out, b) people eagerly read the review of ARR's new release. Well, the last time I checked, people did not react the same way for a new Deva release. I guess the expectation out of ARR's new release is in itself a bias. BTW, watch for my new thread on Deva.

Karthi,
Mudhal mudhalaa oru paatta kEttappuram adhu pidichchudhunnaa adhu bias illai.Eventhough, one could argue that your like/dislike itself is a function of your "conditioning". For example, if our paattis heard the current trends in harmonizing, they might think that one of the singers has not got the tune right. In such a case, the bias exists before even the first experience.
But, if there are three new cassettes (say IR, Anu Malik, and Viju Shah), and you (as any normal breathing person with pulse should) pick up the cassette by IR, you have demonstrated a behavior based on your past experience (which is a bias).
