Ranga :-)
I think aruL and I had a discussion already about these enchiladas, pizzicatos, whachamicallits and whateveryoucallitis etc.. :-) It seems to be his natural style..Let us not try stopping him :-) It is either fun to read or fun to realize that I dont know much :-)

Hey aruL,I hope that being a person with great sense of humour (soap! soap!) you would realise that was just in jest. NOM :-)

:-)) EEOV - what does that mean? enakku ennavO oNNum viLangala? ranga? are you the ranga i know? i was supposed to call you like 100 years ago or so but as usual i forgot. give me a call if you still have my phone number. btw, this is the only thread where one can write something sane. (actually, i was going nuts listening to that piece, and i was commenting real time :-) ). and btw, what is the point in saying "this comp is good". everything that comes from these composers are really good. that's why i give others something to munch :-) (just finished my lunch, that's why you see nuts, munch, ... here :-) ). inga maTTum thAn i can try to show off the little things i know. adhayyum uda mATTinga pOlirukkE :-(

for a composer what ever a reviewer says is a piece of encouragement. We dont care much if he knows it really or not.
ore ala nalla kataiyala adi chutu..finally tell NOM But the poor victim here does not know NOM was for the katai...:)
pizzicatos - for people who dont know this...
a note or phrase played by plucking strings usually
a violin (without the bow) ,

What do you make your music on?
Jay.

Definitely aruL!! An appreciation from a knowledgeable fellow is equivalent to multiple appreciations from laymen, isn't it?? (No sarcasm here). So there is nothing wrong in ensuring the creator that the appreciation comes from knowledgeable quarters even at the danger of being perceived as a show off!!:-))
BTW, I shall call you this weekend.
EEOV - Enakku edhukku oor vambu.
(After saying whatever you want to say and then putting NOM or EEOV adds extra flavor :-))

Hi Guys,
Just got back home. Thanks for your comments.
Arul: This composition was started way back in June of 1999. I worked on it for couple of months and dropped it. At the same time, I had started work on Singaara Velaa. I never expected myself to continue on "Persistence" (Irony!!). Since both compositions were in Kalyani, I decided to reuse (Programmer buththi) some of the parts in "Singaara Velaa". In May of 2001, I was looking through all my old aborted compositions. I found "Persistence" and was revived. I did not want to change those common phrases as they sounded good in this piece too. I am glad that you enjoyed the music.
Jay: I use Yamaha PSR-630.
Srikanth: I was inspired by you to work on the drums parts. Since it is not my cup of tea, I had to spend a lot of time on the drum parts. I am glad that it sounds alright.

Guys,
I don't know anything about music even abcd. But yesterday I was just playing with a music tool and came up with a piece. It's in my Yahoo briefcase. Share your thoughts :)

BTW, the file is still in wav format, I did not have time to convert it to ra format. I will do that soon.

Sridhar:
I liked ur composition. You also have something special in ur music. From srikanth's mp3 page u have a link so I could listen to ur "why not" for the first time. Otherwise u're not a frequenter. I hope u bring out more in future more frequently - as hihi:-) say it's worth wait. Orchestration is nice. Drum Parts are very interesting. Some cool controls on volume was observed around 3:30...instruments are all well chosen. Towards ending the flute phrase are very well placed in the rhythm ( as in hindusthani classical concerts ). Oboe is used very well. Overall an Excellent Job.
Srikanth's drum parts are very special if we observe closely. Besides I appreciate him for adapting the triton/synth modules to indian music flawlessly - this is when he attempts tamil songs. Sometimes it looks to me as though he didn't use these electronic gadgets at all to see any influence of these synths. He seems to be in this business for a long time - obviously lot to put in.
In summary, i observe what Amateur composers does very closely. Since some of u are still with amateurs, they can consulted if we like something in their works.
Regards,
Aditya

Baalabarathy showed a lot of his promise with his amaraavathy songs though IRs influence was evident. I wonder what happened to saasanam? it has been in the making for 3 years now??

Hi guys,
I played live with Sri Thirumale Srinivas and his group, visiting artist from Banglore India, at S.V.Temple pittsburgh. (This is for Kannada Association of Pittsburgh.), most of it was on the spot!...music without any rehersals. :)
At this moment I cannot upload all the songs due to few copyrights issues. I just have a clip from the live show!...this show had about 20 kannada songs and 30 mins of raga improv's. I played the keyboards and drum machines. This program is being produced as a CD. Let me know how it sounds.

Srikanth:
Great Job! You made it man - Quietly making a good path. Did u play it live or sequenced the tracks? Did u use RRPR? What is that Sound? Saxophone played in Mandolin Srinivas Style.
Wonderflow - flawless integration with Classical Concert. Who mixed it? How did this happen? Who coordinated it - noble idea!!! Looking forward for more such ventures...All the best. Did u change different instruments for each song or throughout the same sound is maintained? Superb!
However selecting this sound is great for Hamsadhwani I guess.
Regards,
Aditya

Sri
I listened to just now,Romba nalla irrukku.
It requires lot to play the free form style.
Lot of kalpana sakthi is required and also understanding of raga.
Well done!! I am very happy to hear the outcome and you know why!!
