Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”

Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.

Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

  C~P...in singapore...the movie cost u SGD 10 over the weekend..and SGD 8 on weekdays...
  
  but in malaysia it's RM 10 over the weekend..and RM 8 on wednesday (Selected cinemas)..
  
  and 1 SGD = 2 RM...meaning SGD 10 = RM 20...meaning 1 Movie in Singapore = 2 Movies in Malaysia....

  I have a feeling that Mani would have given the best role and more scope to Madhavan (I don't want to get into the reson 'why' here and spark off a non-constructive debate). But, I am still confident that Surya would have done a fabulous job of the role within the scope that is given to him. In fact, based on what I heard of the roles and characters....Surya would have been more suitable for Madhavan's role and Madhavan would have been more suitable for Siddharth's role. But, having said that, Surya's is the most matured role out of the lot, and probably thats why he was given that role.
  
  Also, when Mani started this film, Surya wasn't as big a star and not much was known of his acting talents. But, by the time the movie was completed, things had changed and Surya is one of the big selling factors. Hence, the marketing and advertising campaign has been designed accordingly. Have a look at that impressive ad where all three stars are standing tall....with Surya in the middle with fully facing the camera and the viewer.

  Yeah? The reason why I thought Surya had been placed in the middle was because that was the only way they could make all the 3 actors look the same height!

  From the glimpses of the story I've read,
  it is obvious that the story kind of revolves around the enimity between Surya and Barathiraja.
  Sidd saves Surya from Madhavan who is BR's goonda
  and hence Madhavan tries to kill both of them.
  So it is normal to have Surya in the middle...
  
  And Surya was already well recognised when he was signed for AE...

  Anyways who cares who's important in the movie...as long as the movie's gonna be good...And I think Mani wud have given equal importance to all three men....And I think Mani wud know best who wud suit who's role in his movie...afterall its his film...dontcha think he'll have more care in choosing the cast???
  
  And Kumaran...the reason why Mani chose otherwise is(this is wht I think) Surya's done tht kinda role before(Inba role) & Maddy's done tht kinda role before as well(Arjun role)...so may be wanted to show these actors in a role which they havent played b'fore:)
