  There are couple of no.s which will make "un uthattoram" ('Paanjaalangkurichi') 100000000000 times better :
  
  1) from the Sarathkumar, Kanaga *er "Chaamundi"
  
  2) And in the song "hey kutti munnaala nee pinnaala naan vandhaalae" ('Indhu') In the film "Sooriyan",
  
  F : "padhinettu vayadhil iLa mottu manadhu
  yengudhu paai poda
  pani kottum iravu paal vanna nilavu
  yengudhu uravaada"
  
  The most unfortunate thing with the last thing was the tune resembled "Kandha Sashti Kavasam".

  back with more.
  
  a couple of things i want to mention about the "ennuyirth thOzhi" song from karnan. One, it's one of the few songs of its time that
  talk about sexuality from the woman's point of view, and in a way it completely excludes the man, unlike in other similar numbers,
  where the hero is usually involved.
  Another aspect is the usage of "varuvaan", etc, at a time when heroines referred to their heroes in very "respectful" terms.
  though it was radical, it was done in a very polished manner, a far cry from "mennudA, ennai thinnudA" (note: i don't condone the `vaadi pOdi' kind of lyrics either) songs these days.
  
  another hit song in karnan, "iravum nilavum vaLarattumE", is another lovely ditty with strong sexual content. the lyrics are a dead giveaway:

  tharavum peRavum uthavattumE
  nam thanimai sugangaL perugattumE

  Why is the thread titled what we seldom talk about? Look at the short stories and serials.
  Would gues 80% are sex/kaathal based. So I dont understand who the "we" are in the title. certainly not the DFmmers.

  the most unusual duet, in my opinion, is the
  "thuliyaatha peN ondru kaNdEn". Here the male is
  restrained
  "intha kaN thantha adayaaLam pOthum"

  athil nadamaadi payanthum illai"
  
  Probably the director adumberates (ah haa,
  finally got a chance to use that GRE word.
  take that barrons.) that the hero is not eventually going to accept her love. But still it is the fresh air I need to dispell the fetid atmosphere created by songs like "kathava saaththu kathava saaththu maamaa".

  Anyway, going with the flow of the topic, I think 'manasu mayangum, mowna geetham' from 'chippikkuL muththu' is a song which portrays sexuality from the female's point of view. The pallavi has the lines 'idhazil thodangu, enakkuL irangu, sugangaL iru madangu' and the charaNam has the lines 'maarbil rendu panjaNai, madigaL rendum thalaiyaNai'...
