Kaviarasu Vairamuthu?

After the great Kaviarasu Kannadhasan, Vairamuthu is used to call as Kaviarasu Vairamuthu, is it acceptable by you, can u compare VM with KK...

  I don't find anything weird in ANindha modhiram lines.
  
  Modhiram - viralil aNivadhu
  VaLaiyal - kaiyil aNivadhu
  OddiyaNam - Idayil aNivadhu
  
  So, the extent of heroine's weight loss due to the 'pirvu' is that her modiram has become a VaLaiyal and she wants him to be back before the VaLaiyal becomes OddiyaNam (meaning she could lose more weight). It's an interesting idea even though not new.

  Even VM won't have an answer for it. A few years ago, VM was interviewed by Spore Radio. They were discussing early days of VM with VM. In "Aayiram Thamarai mottukkalaey" song, there is a line "vullirukkum vervai vanthu neer vaarkum". As such, VM only knows what this means. Somehow our AIR interpreted this that this song has obscene
  words and banned it from playing on radio. When
  Spore Radio quoted this, VM vazhingified and said
  he did not have any such intentions of using bad
  words and all. But, he never explained what it
  really meant. :)

  I know what VM means by those line in Soukiyamaa. But what a weird comparison from a Modthiram to a vallaiyal and then to a Odiyaanam. If he had stopped at the Vallaiyal stage it would have made some realistic and imaginative sense. Odiyanam is not worn on hands but on waist I believe. If he had said "Annitha Necklace Odiyanamai Aagumune Anbe Azhaitheen..". then it would have been fine. But not our KaviPerarasu!!!
  
  He is not sure about comparing what to what and claims himself as KaviPerarasu. Just fills up the tune with some weird and absurd comparisons.
  
  By the way, does anyone have any answers on "Jothi Jothi ai Erukkum" lines and "Kannil Verthean" ??

  Whenever I hear the line "Jyothi Epadi Jyothiyai Erikkum.." what comes to my mind is
  
  1. Ice Katti Epadi Ice Katti ai Kullira Vaikum...
  
  You never know, he might use this line in some song in future.

  Kalakkal......In fact this is what really makes me mad againt this DiaMUNDU kavingnar......At times he really writes well...but sometimes he really blows up thinking his karpanai is the greatest....Latest trash is that, "jothi eppadi jothiyai erikkum ".......whenever that line comes, I just skip the entire song after that sequence.....

  Vairamuthu's sensational lyrics for two songs in which SPB outpours expressions with his high pitch rendering. These songs almost got VM, the title 'kavi paerarasu' for the movie amarkaLam!;-)

  VM seems to be obsessed with this word "vervai'.. he uses it in silly contexts, and takes shelter under the banner of "poetic" expressions!!
  
  I liked his lines "Endhan Thaayin Garbam thaandi, marumurai uyir konden".. but its a bit too much to write stuff like "jyothi epadi jyothisyai erikum?"

  I too liked the line "Endhan Thaayin Garbam thaandi, marumurai uyir konden". But what I don't like is his lack of consistency. He comes with great lyrics for some songs and also with total absurd lyrics for certain other songs. I think the MD has to play he controlling game to filter only the best output from him.

  PS: C'mon Ponmani madam! buck up. You are not concentrating these days. (For folks who are wondering, what the hell that means....there is a very strong belief that Mrs. Ponmani Vairamuthu - the esteemed professor of Tamil in Meenakshi college for Women, and a great poetess in her own right - writes and fixes a lot of stuff for her husband. Other Meeenakshi college teachers, like my mom, know this because they see Ponmani writing lyrics in the staff room during free hours.... so... maybe she was just too busy and did not notiice some of his slips)

  Another bad lyric from VM on Roja Roja... in
  Kadhalar Dhinam
  
  "Mazhayil Nee Nanaidhal Enukku Kaichal Varum...
  Veyilil Nee Theerindhal Enukku Vervai Varum..."
  
  He has done this kind of comparison in Allaigal Oyvadhilai, Vizhiyal Vizhundhu Song.
  
  "Nee Malligai Poovai Soodi kondal Roja Poovuku
  kaichal varum..."
  
  VM is the only big lyric writter who comes with

  Just because Ponmani writes lyrics in the staff room during free hours, doesnt mean that she is writing it for her husband. For your very kind information, most of the early lyrics of VM was penned before he marrying poNmani.

  My friend and I had a discussion today about the same subject and we wanted to know whether Kannadasan had written any "vulgar" stuff. We did not know. Do you?   I am right now listening to Mudhalvan songs and I am intrigued by this handywork of VM. The only mediocre song in the movie is Kurukku siruthavalae (appadinna enna) Once again VM has made the hero ask the heroine to poosify him as manjal. Konjam manja thechi kulikkaiyil enna konjam poosu thaayae. Etthanai naalukku ippadiyae poosuvaaro. Ippadiyae ponal makkalellam Saanila karachi vasalilae thelichida poranga.
