  Anban & Prakash - Enjoyed your jokes, but the fact remains - Netrikann thirappinum kutram kutramey. The issue about the song being factually wrong is NOT NEW. Kannadhasan had also acknowledged this.
  
  Thalapathi song is factually correct as Kannan was indeed at Yamunai. :-)))
  
  Once again Anban - Naarayanan can be everywhere but Krishnan was only in Gokulam & its surroundings. :-))))
  
  Now, Raman is a different thing altogether - he was born in Ayodhi but travelled to Lanka... (are you sure you want me to carry on?) :-))))

  The above lines caused a huge debate. There are those who feel that gold is still gold even if it is blemished. Others feel that the question is absurd because once the gold has a flaw, it does go down in grade. What do you Nakkeerans think?

  Kannadhasan once acknowledged, in some discussion,
  that he was wrong in these lines. The episode
  is described in a book titled, Paattulagil
  Kannadhasan by Pulavar Thamizhpiththan. But

  Sathiya Keerthi, Kannadhaasan may have agreed he was wrong but that doesn't mean we have to agree, because the verse has a life all its own independant of the creator. NOV, I know only too well, still it's responses like Bharat's that truly take such discussions to a new level. I do enjoy these views. Thanks, guys

  Gold is available in 14K, 18K,22K, 24K purity etc. Even Pure gold, which is 24K contain copper. KaNNadhasan meant that only.

  trying to figureout what would have inspired VM to
  write such lines. My kaRpanai kuthirai...TOK..TOK..TOKnu

  can fly with BGM tok..tok..tok).....
  
  Recently VM had a very tough time with Bharathi Raaja.
  VM has pulambified his personal feelings and
  expressed his sorrow in the JEANS song...

  Though it appears like a fun song, it is really
  such a SOGAMANA song. We have to "uLnOkki" pArkanum
  for the deeper, hidden meaning.
  
  For BRaaja's next super movie "TAJMAHAL", VM is the lyrikist.
  VM was freaking out for a kAthal thOlvi situtaion song... like:

  Prakash: I think its "Oru sangil thaane paalai unnum ore jeevan". If I remember tha song right this line is sung by Jaychandran and not Janaki. But this is of my cuff so could be possibly wrong.

  I don't think it is dharmeega kalyaanam. I heard it as Thaar meethu kalyaanam. I thought it referred to the horizon, since both of them were on a boat.
  
  I agree with Prakash about the difficulty in understanding lyrics in IR's music. The music, however sublime, tends to overshadow the singers. Or maybe he just wasn't as interested in getting enunciations right as, say, MSV, was.
