Please listen to the following songs again and again and you will clearly understand the depths, breadth and heights to which Ilayaraja has gone like no other creative genius has. This is a real lesson in the most exceptional and complex of musical composition delivered just simply like that by IR for the ordinary listener:

Anyone can challenge me with any song of any other composer of this earth and tell me if I am wrong.

  Ilayaraaja according to me is one of the geniuses that the last century had gifted us. We must all be extremely gifted as well to have the luxury of listening to this ISAI BRAHMAs artistic creations. All his creations during 80's were then one generation ahead and are even now one generation ahead. For example, the song senorita i love you from Jhonny. It is a song that we all would like to hear again and again endlessly and it never creates a bore dom in you. Same is the case with songs like En vanile ore vennila from Jhonny and songs from the films like avadharam.
  While reading some of the previous comments in the forum, some one commented about the song "Unna vida " from virumandi that this song cannot be dreamt on a day light environment. It was a song meant to be for the night lit with the Moon. What a beautiful description and kudos to that person who had such great thoughts. Ilayaraja's songs give you a sense of continuity and flow that you cannot find with other music directors. Accepted that ARR has his own talents. He has perfected fusion. A fantastic feat indeed, but barring a few songs, can we listen to ARRs songs again and again relentlessly. Sometimes these songs give you a ear sore. Same is not the case with IRs songs. IR undoubtedly is the music genius of all times. Its sad that he did not get the due credit that he has to get from the music community all over India.

  It happened bcoz majority of IR's tunes have this tamil touch and is not at all suitable for Northern audience. Whereas in whichever language he tried, ARR's songs definitely blends with the culture and you dont feel like you are listening to the work of a South Indian.

  I can produce a list in no time... but you need to have some taste in music... I can talk to someone about the prelude of the 'aanandha raagam...' song from panner pushpangal or the way IR composed sangeetha jadhi mullai, or His brilliant use of western notes in 'eatho mogam song from kozhi koovudhu for hours and even days..... But what's the point in having a conversation with you if your brain is all fogged up? You should have realized by now that you have become a such a big joker. I know where you come from... and I have seen people like you in the past...It's mere waste of time to talk about a genius to someone who is musically so ignorant..In way it's an insult to that genius. So my advice to you is that you listen to whatever you like but just keep it yourself bcos the more you talk, the more you expose your ignorance and once day when you realized it, you may even hate yourself that would be really sad..

  Very true cho. There are some dumb-heads here who try to prove a particular tfm composer is the best the world has seen in Past, Present & Future. They dont know that it only shows their ignorance in any thing other than tamil film music.

  dr isaingani illayaraaja does not get credits for best his composition in heyram( the first tamil film in symphony),sethu ,ramana,virumandi,thalapabthi,guna , aathma ,alaghi and so on.As dr illayaraaja said he is not compose music to just earn pocket money like other musicians. he said music his his soul, breath and not something for business.From those days till now we indians and also tamilians will never get credits from our own people.If our people the directors and producers recognise dr illayaraaja also can be like the other musician goes apart from india.But illayaraaja never give the priority for money and any outside influences.For that i really even the god of music also hats off and salute to dr maestro illayaraaja.If the directors like maniratnam and lyricts vairamuthu never give the priority to money and respect the value dr isaingani he aslo now in international market.It is only certain people just bcos of their egoism bring give chances to different music directors.Vairamuthu is really money minded person.At this time i keyed in thies words i m listerning to heyram"s "nee paartha paarvaikku nandri" song what tremendous scoring of this great indian composer.To me dr isaingani is not a musician who is producing music like certain musician.Dr isaingani is a composer and not a musician.He composed and creates notes for musics.I request dr isaingani illayaraaja please sir stay as this we still the real music lovers is standing beside you to protect and support you. We still wants your fantastic scoring and composition of music.For me the only person can give such beautiful carnatic songs and western song in tamil cenema is none other than dr isaingani illayaraaja.I can swear that no other person can do like composed , mixing of raagas and keerthanas , the arangement and settings of instruments than the great indian illayaraaja.thanks
