hihi:-)
Thanks for your comments...I am working on the complete album about 1 hr duration but all are kind of snippets of max 2 min duration. This is basically because of the lack of full fledged recording equipment and ofcourse my stuff is all spontaneous - so i leave it as it's to whatever length I can think in one stretch - this might be my current limitation.
Regards,
Aditya

Rigid playing at times is a way of controlling the volume - somewhat like ribbon controller on Great Synths like Korg Triton:-))

1. US Pop is mechanical. I agree. That is why I suggested, we bring to it something new! ;)
2. Large audiences only can pay the $200,000 for the full time musician's life support! ;) Unless you know some guy in Smithsonian.

If inspiration strikes in 1 minute bursts, just make sure, you work on the same piece and build on it. This used to happen to me.
If you force yourself to continue with the same piece, mind thinks up innovative bridges and that makes music more varied and innovative.

Aditya,
Thats ok.. Next time try 'Impromptu' kind of playing and record a piece for more than 5 minutes.. If it comes good, leave as it is or do some minor alterations here and there and practise well and do it again in one shot.. This kind of playing will help you for stage performances.
Thanks for your comments regarding the piano solo.
The song will sound good if you sing along with the piano
Here are the Lyrics:

Even though that was my Advice to you, it does not mean I follow it all the time!!! ;)
In fact, my hard drive is full of pathetic one-minute songs, each an inspired gem ;). I am sure each of us will have the same situation.
But only the ones that I laboriously determined to complete and publish, the ones that got the 90% perspiration, got some shape and are on the mp3.com site.
I read this from a SciFi author on the net, he says, finish what you begin and get it to the listner/reader and keep it in circulation as the three keys to improve a creative skill. 'Finish what you begin' forces you to solve problems in composition- because of which you got stuck. You learn new approaches. Showing it to the reader, helps you get good feedback and encouragement which is very required for creative spirit. Keep it in circulation is for survival!!
Naveen, jasthi kadichutten. BTW, you seem to have an ear for Chandrababu and Chandrababu style. This song, if I remember is an A.L.Raghavan song in JBC style!!

Please take the following comment in the right sense. U seem to be more of a player than a composer ( or may be you are both..I have listened only to short clips). I suggest you team up with one of the arrangers in this forum to bring out a good album. Just my thoughts..

I think every Composer has to be some decent player or singer. So I see myself teaming up with one of the arrangers in this forum ONLY to exercise and enjoy how I would sound in others compositions - I am sure it will be definitely good. But there's something to each one's benefit and I took it in right sense...
I am yet in the process of shaping myself...so I can't really say whether I am a composer/arranger/player - Infact I haven't experimented anything big yet...but I can tell you one thing very sure - I am a good listener:-))
Let's see how we can team up to bring good music.

Aditya

The embellishments are very very nice. Cant believe this is a simple melody. You seem to think in piano!!! Or should I say breath piano chords. Wonderful!

The veena playing is excellent. The folk feel was in the Veena. Dance feel, oops, no! To me, the Veena sound is very majestic (like an elephant) and it can't dance (maybe should not!)
Both melodies are grand (very suited to veena) and keep composing and disregard MS's opinion ;)
What is the percussion you have used. It is something ingenious like beating on the Veena board (Folk song..)

Aditya,
compose a tune for piano & veena
hmmm.. let the scene be like this.. Piano - A guy, Veena - A girl... Both quarreling all the times.. or the other way round..
c'mon.. compose a tune man!!

And if it dances...it will be so majestic...I couldn't bring that feel probably to your ears, body and soul...but veena has lot of potential as an instrument:-)) They are live drum samples collected...I have just started learning to identify to which category the percussion instruments belong...hip hop etc., you guys are gurus in such topics:-)) Among the samples whatever sounded good to my ears, I picked them to be part of my drum loop.
Well there's a message from MS - I can't disregard without realising to myself completely. I took it like "Hey Guy! identify whatever you're"
I am in that QUEST:-))

I know this is not the right place to inform. But guys who are interested in music will definitely enjoy the work done by my brothers and I.
please visit http://www.mp3.com/NMJ_Brothers and
mail your comments at nmjbrothers@yahoo.com
RajaG and MS can comment on the voices.. The songs are simple old christian devotional songs.
I did the orchestration and added some more stuff into it.
If you have any Tamil Christian friends, please pass this link to them..
Thanks

thx. There was no element of downgrading in my post. It was just a simple inference from all the clips I have heard so far. Guessing from your confidence, I think you will bring forth more of your compositional skills and let us enjoy it. thx
