"The album kicks in with the very catchy ye ye ennachu sung by Vasundhara Das in manner that only she can. Next is a beauty of a ballad sonnalum by Unnikrishnan and Harini.
Vaan nila by Srinivas and Karthik is a highly innovative rock-n-roll track that would not let your feet rest. S P Balu is in his usual fantastic form in the heart warming yenthan vanin. Rahman takes off again into a very progressive FTV style track in bailmore with T R Simbu and Tippu doing the vocal honours. And the album ends on a grand note with Mano and Clinton going for the gut with o kadhale, which also sits on an emotional high note in the movie.
Kaadhal Virus has all the ingredients of a typical Kathir-A R Rahman soundtrack. A great mix of upbeat youthful tracks and soulful ballads"

Thiru..
yeah.. listened to that part.
The beat jus continues as before and the singers adjust their bit. as they say in Physix.. wavelengths outta phase! ;)
but sure sounds catchy.. and he has synthesised Vasundhara's voice in that part.

Only people who appreciate Kadhal Virus reviews are welcome here. Others can get out from here.
Because it not a democracy. It is a dictatorship.
Come on folks.. when somebody doesn't like it why do you go fight with him? It is his opinion right?
Why do you call them "bugs"? The topic is Kadhal Virus Review. Not Kadhal Virus review owned by A.R.Rahman fans. Any body can write his review in this. If you guys are really sportive you won't call them names like some of ARR fans do. Otherwise you guys are not sportive.

kadhal virus has a brand name weinners sony, and arr otherwise there is nothing more to write about, if album is done by arr and sony (only changes in name alone) it would have been a smash hit, people should put the brands behind and look to the content

Some bad news... (from Sify)
Since KV is a movie wit newcomers, hope it wont go down the same way, tho it looks likely. Any news on when the movie will be released?
"The so-called youth movies with newcomers released last Friday like - Album, Five Star, and University have all sunk without a trace at the box office.
The audience are just refusing to enter the cinema halls showing these films. On a Saturday evening at a particular theatre complex showing two of these films the turn out was pathetic. There were only 45 people in one of the theatres, which had a seating capacity of 387 and at the other theatre in the same complex there were only 27, which had a capacity of 333! The total loss for the producers and distributors would be Rs 10 crore. In the case of Junction, a film that was to be released on Friday the distributor refused to take the print at the last moment.
This would sound the death knell of films with newcomers, for the time being. Nearly 72 films are on the floors and at least 20 of them are ready for release. Now no distributor worth his salt would touch films with newcomers."

ec, thx for the link. I'm sure BR mus have said it in jest. but ARR has made a brief appearance in a movie before, as himself. cant remember which one now.
And as for Bailamore, everyone seems split over it, but I liked it the instant I heard it. I have been hooked it to it from the start. I like the special "morphing" effect...first time I'm hearing tis in a Tamil song.
For full impact, listen wit ur sub woofer on.
I did not like the VD no at first but it grows on u. I loved the Vaan Nila & O Kadhale immediately. The other 2 grow on u.
Overall, Excellente!
Can't wait to catch the picturisation.
This album definitely requires headphones like UV said. The full AR Rahman magic will be lost on u otherwise.
UV, thx for ur review.

Kadhal Virus is better than Baba.It is also better than say I love you da.But clearly Rahman has lost his effervessence, his joy and his fire.He is a sleepy shadow of his former self unable to accept the fact that other music directors like Yuvan and Harris produce oorvasis and kaloori salais with the same vibrance that he used to have.Ye ye ennaachu is a sleepwalking song which wanders aimlessly.Sonnalum has shades of so many of his own songs like Anbe sugamaa,Thoda thoda,Mudhal murai, though Unni and Harini try their best to infuse freshness.Vaan nila looks like a song composed in a hurry and it is more of shouting rather than singing. The great S.P.B. is wasted in one of the dullest songs that we shall ever hear.Bailamore is the pits.O kaadhale is no great song but would have been better if rendered by SPB or Hariharan. And stunts like Clinton shouting Kaadhale don't work anymore since all other music directors are doing the same.Where is the magical Rahman?I hope this phase is temporary and there is noone else who is doing great great stuff.Rahman is in the same stage where the great Raja was in the 90's when Rahman's success affected Raja's form. The present lot of music directors have only succeeded in using certain Rahman strengths like recording techniques, hook lines.rhythm loops, and calling alien singers who murder the language to make the song sound different. But they have not been able to recreate his magic.Probably the stage is set for another Raja or Rahman. That is the bright spot. One thing is clear. The Rahman era is over. And that is sad.

btw, someone posted a site for the lyrics, but I can't find it now. Can anyone repost?
I still havnt got the original cd yet. :S
the voice in the bg in Bailamore reminded me of teletubbies at some stages :)
and guys, pls bear wit the likes of music lover etc. they'll keep reposting the same sentences over and over in the hope someone will believe them or it'll come true if they repeated it a hundred times...i guess it's the simpson effect.
I shall not like ARR's music...

btw, has JPM posted his review yet?
cosmo, happy listening. I'm having my cd mailed to me from Spore!

Why so many ARR fans are saying that ARR no more interested in Tamil Music. Usually they are the best PRO in business, saying the songs are from heaven. Why sudden frustation!. Are they tired of defending ARR!

Speaker, ARR fans r not the frustrated ones here.
It's quite obvious which party is frustrated by ARR's success here.
No one needs to defend ARR. His music speaks for itself.

WN:
Kadhir's movies were pretty substandard after his debut smash hit, Idhayam. Uzhavan had some sense but way too slow to be a commercial hit. Kadhal Desam and and Kaadhalar Dinam were plain stupid in my opinion. Hope he gets his senses back with KV, but that seems unlikely with the story I heard...of that a Director falling in love with his protege...this has been attempted earlier too and its Kadhir's handling that could make all the difference.
But music of Kaadhal Desam and Kaadhalar Dinam were huge hits, so I dont see the movie's verdict affecting music sales.
As for 5star, I read its review in Sify and I couldnt stop laughing for the next 1 hour. It was so damn absurd.
I personally loved KV's music, especially the 3 fatser numbers. Bailamore is my pick of the album. If ARR introduced British Undergournd rhythms in Shakalaka baby, he has done it again...introduced ambient trance in Bailamore. 'Vaan nila', 'Sonnalum' and 'Hey hey' are other faves of mine. I havent started liking 'O Kaadhale' yet...what with all that coughing et all! But that 'Kaadhale' humming by Clinton is really captivating!

Can someone pls. clarify me of what that mumbling is all about at the start of "Bailamore". I really cant make head or tails and don't even know what language it is! [apologies if i'm being ignorant :p). However, it has some meaningful lyrics midway through the song though
~:)

I was wondering about the same thign too Kannan, thanfully got the explanation from a French fan of ARR based in Montreal!
Seems the lady first lists French fashion labels/ brands and then says,
'la mode débarque à chennai'
Meaning: Fashion arrives in Chennai.
She also says, at another point,
'chennai est à la mode'
Meaning: Chennai is fashionable.
During the second interlude she lists out international City names in a French accent and ends it with Chennai. There are few other utterances like 'Ooh lah lah', at other places!
