  Your frustration is very clear. Apologies if I have contributed to the monotony in anyway. Following are some VK songs that come to mind.
  1. Mayakkathai thanthavan yaaradi
  from bommalaattam. Remember the song "Vaa vathiyare voottaande")
  2. ViLakke nee thantha oLi naane (niraikudam)
  There is another lovely song from this movie, "KaNNoru pakkam Nenjoru pakkam")
  3.Indru muthal selvamithu en azhagu deivamithu (SPB and Swarna)
  4.Oru Paarvai paarkum pothu (film nangooram), by SPB. A superlative tune from a movie long forgotten.
  5. KaNNellam Un VaNNam (movie ??) by SPB and Swarna
  6. Engellaam VaLayosai ketkinratho (veguLippen) by TMS.
  7. Unnai thotta Kaatru vanthu (Navagraham) PS and SPB.
  My all time favourites of his are Vaazhvil Sowbaaggiyam , Sapthaswaram punnagayil kanden, Oru NaaL yaaro.

  Vkumar songs are my fav in 70s. HOw one can
  forget songs like
  'unnidem mayangurien', 'oriyaram karpani',
  'andavanin thootalie', 'devan vedamum' and
  so many others. He gave new definition to melody
  in his songs.

  Thanks Hari. But I think Devan Vedamum was composed by VijayBhaskar.
  
  I was watching a movie called "Pondaatti sonna kettukkanum' which was about three daughters-in-law living together. There was a song sung by all the three of them together and it very closely resembled VKumar's "...Muthu vaangivanthen ...veedhiyile" from Bhama vijayam which comes in at a similar situation.

  surely by VK, and bama vijayam is by MSV. Does any
  one know, why KB switched between MSV and VK so often in late 60s early 70s.

  Hari According to Vk's son Suresh-whos my classmate here in Western Michigan-VK and KB were not in good terms after Aboorva Ragangal.According to Suresh KB
  wanted VK to be the MD for AR and VK recorded a couple of songs-but KB was not satisfied and this led to quarrel between them.

  Lemme contribute what I know.
  
  KB used MSV and VK for most of his films. It might be true that KB had initially VK score the music for 'Apoorva Raagangal' but MSV had scored for KB's films even before that. I think one of the reasons could be that KB was just rising at that time and as usual had to go for a low profile MD like VK.
  
  Eg: Bhama Vijayam
  Aval Oru Thodar Kadai
  Manmadha Leelai
  
  RR and Hari,
  
  'Thirumurugan Aruginile' is from Meyar Meenatchi music by MSV. The film had other great numbers like 'Evalo Oru Pennam Aval Naan Illaiyam' (PS) and 'Kanden Kalyaana Pen Pondra Kolam' (SPB & PS).

  You've named some of VK's best creations as your favourites, that's good! I think you should have added 'Kadhodudhan Naan Paaduven' in that list.
  
  The following could be an addendum to that list:

  I am talking about in late 60s and early 70s. KB used MSV for films like bama vijayam, and couple of more, when VK is scroing music for other films. In mid 70s, even KB went to vijaya baskar for thappu thalangal and came back to MSV. I think,
  arangettram is the last movie, VK and KB worked

  Madhanorstavam has the same santham as "Mana ho Thum" not the same tune, obviously it is an inspiration. The stanza is totally different. Guess who was the composer for the Hindi song? Bappi Lahiri.

  one movie directed by K.B. V.K. did one experiment.L.R.E usually sing the songs in High pitch ,P.S.used to sing songs in Low pitch.Mostly her songs are melodies.In that movie "kaadhoduthaan" a melody song sung by L.R.E and 'Naan santham Pottuthaan Paaduveen' by P.S. both songs were super hit
