Hi Friends,

bb is doing a great job everyday with the song of the day thread.

Can we have a thread for lyrics of the day?

bb sir would it be possible?

There are many old songs which people know with just the tune and maximum first stanza..knowing the lyrics would make people enjoy the song more.

  You need a font 'TSC_Avarangal' to be downloaded & Installed - to read the above post.
  
  To POST in thamizh script - you need e-kalappai - an excellent tool for editing thamizh based content.
  
  You can get all help regarding - HOW to configure your browser(IE) to view the thamizh content and Use - the e-kalappai tool to post in thamizh from here :

  I get some funny stuff. I can read it, but its all jumbled up. Good enought to make up the word. But saadharnama 1 min-la padikkara oru para-va 2 mins padikkaraen!

  Murasu anjal irunthaa theriyanumee! Arent these characters visible with Murasu anjal running in the background? Did u try changing the font to user defined? CP yum neethu theriyalanu sonnan! I am able to see it.

  You need to install 'TSC_Avarangal' font inorder to be able to read the posts that i have made.

  After installing the TSC_Avarangal font in ur system - follow these simple steps inorder to VIEW the thamizh scripts in your web-page :
  
  
  Now - regarding 'Configuring' the Internet Explorer browser - to be able to 'READ' thamizh scripts - please note the following points :
  
  * If your browser is IE, try this :
  
  In the browser menubar - click on 'View' and under it - click on 'Encoding'; you would see a lot of encoding options there like arabic,chinese,japanese et al.
  
  Among those options - find the option 'User-defined'.
  
  It would be listed if you clicked 'More' under that 'Encoding' option.
  
  * Select 'User-defined' and then 'Refresh' the page. you'd probably get to read thamizh scripts on the page directly, if you did this.
  
  * When setting the encoding to "User Defined" , also uncheck "Auto-Select" in the same menu. You dont have to restart(re-start may be required in some cases).
  
  * Then in your IE browser :
  
  Choose 'Tools' from menubar.
  
  Tools-->Internet Options--> Fonts-->
  
  Choose "User Defined" in "Language Script" list-box of options.
  
  Now in the section below that - You'd find a list of fonts.
  
  From that - choose "TSC_Avarangal" font - for 'Web fonts' listbox, and "TSC_Avarangalfxd" font - for 'Text Fonts' and then - Click Ok twice...
  
  
  * You should now be able to read pages where TSC fonts are used. Your settings in the Browser are the ones which will determine if you can read Tamil directly or not.

  Ferrari: Great choice - one of my favourite songs! A few corrections, if my memory serves me right.
  I remember watching the movie in 1961 when it was released. I was a student in Bangalore and I took some of my Telugu friends to the movie. In return I watched Devadas in Telugu!
  In the lyrics:

  I must have sung this song at least a 1000 times!

  Good effort in starting and continuing this thread. A few suggestions please -
  
  1. Could you please distinguish between l, L, and zh (or use z instead of zh)
  2. Also use n versus N
  3. p vs B and t vs D as appropriate.
  
  I use t, d, th, dh to show the various phonetics distinctly.
