Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

Re-visiting Shankar's Boys
After all that media scroo-up, Shankar's Boys went into the boxes with the same speed. The same Sun Tv which gave a very bad rating for this movie broadcasted Boys yesterday (without major cuts) as a part of Tamil New Year's Day celebration (?!!). Atleast by doing it Sun TV joins the group of Boys supporters.
Now that the rest of hypocritical public who refused to meet the Boys in theatres had a chance to see the movie on their televisions. And, probably now they would understand that Boys was just a reflection of the existing teenage world and not some out-of-the-world issue. I hope they would have cursed the media enough, for being biased with Boys and sabotaging the film's box office.
The audio was cut whenever the boys uttered the OTMP word. I am unable to understand why this was done. I can only laugh loudly at the judgemental skills of censoring.
In such a case, why should hollywood films in India be censored only for erotic scenes. They can also censor the audio like they did for Boys. And if only they do it, films like Phone Booth will be audioless and we, clueless. Let's pray god that this doesn't happen, at all.

NO. It means Songs of BOYS was a hit. today there was an article in dinamalar abt AM Rathnam. And how shankar tortured him in this movie.
AM rathnam had super duper hits in his name. He was a simple make up mana nd his first movie was vaijayanthi IPS.
His biggest flops have been
1. Nayak(mudhalvan hindi version)
2. BOYS
3. Enakku 20 Unakku 18.
Poor AM rathnam. He was one bold producers..It as really sad to read his plight..Thye say that even if movie runs for 100 days am rathanm will have outstanding loan of 4 crores
All becuase of shankar and to some extent E20U18

Maverick,
In response to yer quote: ".......Boys was just a reflection of the existing teenage world and not some out-of-the-world issue", I wudn't quite agree, going by some of the scenes in the movie, esp. in the girlfriend song......please ok, I'm quite aware of the kinda things boys wud do under the effect of adolescence an all that.......been there, seen it, heard it.....but some o the actions depicted in Boys r way-too exaggerating, blown much too out-of-proportion an far from 'reality-based' if ya call that!
Cud ya even imagine that ya go rubbing yer backside against an auntie's in the middle of a shop and shez too dumb to even turn her head around to see whats going on......! Ya sure! They made it look (in these scenes) as if nobody around is as clever as those bunch of boys.....it looked much too fake to be based on real world teens!

Yeah sure. Despite Krishnaswamy, Ramdas, media hooplah, left to its own, this insipid movie would still have been consigned to where it belongs - dustbin.
ARR shows screaming and shouting sans music could garner music awards!!!
"Sa re ga me" hardly qualifies for a song worthy enough even for roadside shows

I know I havent done that and I learn that you also wouldn't have done that. But I know of some friends who had done those things (believe me, i have seen them on my own). I can't believe that we have thousands of songs that are qualified to play in programmes like Midnight Masala in the past decade but a few scenes like that in one single movie calls for a ban from the 'moral police'. Where were they when those MM songs were being shot and played in TV?

garner music awards ? but it sure sells (and thats all is needed. ARR has already got enough awards to decorate his shelves. 'Sa re ga ma...' is not worthy for a roadside show. that was performed for MTV awards show :-) MTV awards show la 'Sa Re Ga Me..' paadama pinna yenna Sneha maathiri 'Ovvoru vaazhkkayilum' -aa paaduvaanga ?

athe thaan. I dont know what some people expect? do they expect some kind of melody or raga based songs in all movies ? BOYS la vanthuttu koodavaa ithelaam yethirpaarpaanga ? even if thats the case, nothing wrong in expecting. but dont go around cursing the MD if you dont get what you expected or wanted. maybe some other movie of the same MD or some other MD would have churned out some songs which might have what you wanted. check out those songs. knowing the kind of musical success that BOYS had, how can you still come and say that its all screaming and sound. nalla comedy paa. eminem paatu ketutu yethaavathu post pannunga. that'd be more entertaining.
