Lyricists other than Kannadasan,Vaali and VM

Kannadasan,Vaali and VM had always been the heroes of any discussion thats related to lyrics. Very often lyrics of other kavignars are assumed/mistaken to be written by these 3. This thread is an effort to come out with songs that were written by kavignars other than these 3

  Hello guys,
  first to Ramki, hi i am continously watching u in the forums. It is nice to know that there is also somebody like me who loves old songs. of course I sing new songs also but the 'old is always gold' of course I am young only. Reg. your query on 'vinnuku meladai' it is vaali. The other song 'mullai malar mele' is utthaputhiran and T.N.ramaiah das. also for azhakade (ps song) by him. Pl.add the name of Thanjai N.ramaiahdas in this list. reg. Suradha,, he is well known as uvamai kavi (comparison - uvamai) and his well known song is from Thaiporanda vazhi pirakum song is 'amudhum thenum edarku? nee aruginile' sung by Seergazhi. \
  next to muthax and co, lo guys now it is Pazhani Bharathi, who is singing a no. of good songs - I hope u all might have heard 'kaadaluku mariyadhai songs and also he has written songs in 'ullathai allitha - ramba movie - Azhagiya lailia'. the other person is arivumadhi - I think the lyricist is a femal e - songs of 'sirai chalai -(kaalapani in hindi)' were written by her/him and IR is md. all the songs are excellent.
  zBy the way muthax, sorry to be personal, I believe that u enjoy that poove unakkaga song because it has struck some chord somewhere. Anyway I also enjoy that song very much, because it is always the sad solo songs that interest me much. like VM's suga raagam sogamdhane - mudhal mariyadai.
  Even the picturisation of that song was good - poove unakaga, a song which has been written for a particular situation and was well done.
  Another lyricist of recent times I like is Ravishankar - song 'rosapu chinna rosappu' in soorya vamsam.

  Guys, wasn't it a one-time poet who wrote this old song, "Enthan Kannukkullae Unnai Paaru"?

  Rsreekanth thanks for the info.KB introduced a new poet Ilandhevan in Kalki. The lyrics were very meaningful esp the song 'porul thedum boomiyil'and'ezhudhugiren oru kadidham'was excellent.Hope KB will work more with him
  
  Thamarai is a new female poet got introduced in 'iniyavalae'.

  yes ramki. i agree with u for the song ezudhugiren oru kaditham. thats a very good song and i really like the line
  "oomaikum naakugal vendumadi
  urimaikku porida thevaiadi".

  hello pagalavan , thanks for correcting my earlier mistake. Especially that song ' vasantha kaalam varumo - by suseela and humming by yesudos is real good 'veenai irundum paiyan edhu vandu meetum' is a powerful line in that song. another lyricist I want to mention in this forum is Panju Arunachalam - he has penned a number of lyrics. his debut 'sivakamai - ponn ezhil putthadhu pudu vaanil' in Kalankarai vilalam of MGR is a great hit even now a days. Of course he has written a no. of songs -especially with IR. The recent one being 'maadathile kanni maadathile' in Veera. can somebody add more his list.
  also on ilan devan 'kalki' not only porul thedum boomiyile even the other song poove nee adava (sujatha) and chinna ponnu sela is good.

  writer name: Jayakandan. He is the lyricist for his films always. He doesn’t go for others. Why should he go just for title or background song :-)

  The film is Paathai Theriyuthu Paar, the MD is MB Seenivasan. Its a communist-based story. Did not run well.

  Jay, Ive not seen the film. But the actors are Vijayan(the doctor who appears for the song Nan Yaar Naan Yaar Neee Yaar in Kudiyiruntha Koyil)SV Sagasranamam, TS Muthiah, V. Gopalakrishnan, SV Subbiah,A Veerappan et. The actresses are L. Vijayalachumy, SUndaribai, Santhini, SR Janagi, Baby Kalpana etc.
