Lyricists other than Kannadasan,Vaali and VM

Kannadasan,Vaali and VM had always been the heroes of any discussion thats related to lyrics. Very often lyrics of other kavignars are assumed/mistaken to be written by these 3. This thread is an effort to come out with songs that were written by kavignars other than these 3

  There is an excellent duet by JC/VJ (padam pEr nyAbagam illai..). The lines (by PP) are:
  pAvai nEE malligai..
  pAl nilA punnagai..
  mAlaiyin maiyalil kAthalin oththigai..
  
  I think the MD was MSV. The lines are too good with a lot of kai and gai sounding words.. Do you know which song I am talking about?
  
  I was recollecting another nA.kA song from manthirap punnagai sung by JC. The song is nAn kAthalil puthup pAdagan..

  Pagalavan i have not heard of this Maayavanathan.
  The song is very 'Tamizh'...in fact i dont think i understood the song very well

  Ponnadiyaan wrote the lyrics for Amaran songs.
  'Vasanthamae arugil vaa' was good.
  
  Ka.Mu.Sheriff is another kavignar who wrote very few songs..couple of them i can remember are:

  Pagalavan yes i remember the song 'paavai nee malligai,paalnila punnagai,kaadhali nee menagai (it was some Srikanth film). My guess is Kannadasan. The MD is SG
  
  I have not listened to that 'mandhira punnagai'song
  
  GA was the lyricist for all the songs in 'Meendum oru kaadhal kadhai'.
  
  GA has written very few sensible songs like
  'indraikku en indha aanandhamae'
  'ooru sanam thoongiruchu'
  'kaatril endhan geedham'
  
  
  SARajkumar was also good but nowdays he has stopped writing lyrics .
  chinna poove mella pesu,paravaigal pala vidham,manasukkul mathappu,pudhu vasantham had nice songs by him.

  Mannil indha kaadhal (originally came out under his brother's name)
  poongathavae thaalthiravaai from Nizhalgal
  solam vedhaikkaiyilae & sendhoorappoovae from 16 vayadhinilae
  siru ponmani asaiyum from Kallukkul Eeram
  
  Besides many gramiya manam kamazhum songs (Rosaappoo Ravikkaikaari, Ponnu Oorukku Pudhusu, etc.) for IR in the pre-VM IR era.
  
  Other writers we haven't discussed: Ka. Mu. Sheriff, Surathaa, and the guy who wrote "aadai katti vandha nilavo" or some other TRM classic.
  Where is Manisegaran in these discussions? I wish he would open up his treasury box of knowledge in lyrics threads.

  Anyone remember the song "Yerik Karip Poongatre" in a Bagyaraj movie ? It was written by Chidambaranathan. He was a Tamil teacher at St. Joesephs HSS, Chengalpattu, my alma mater.

  Manisekaran we love old lyricists too,please do contribute.
  Talking about old timers i remember the song
  'jagan pugalum punyakadhai'from lava-kusa
  written by Marudhakasi. Entire Ramayana was brilliantly told in matter of few charanams.
  Also if im not wrong the film was dubbed from telugu hence the lyrics were written to fit the tune.

  the lyrics of the song ithazhil kathai ezhuthum neramithu is also a great one "esply the line - naalum nilavathu theiuthu maraiuthu nangai mugam ena yaar athai chonnathu". good imagination and really a awakening thought.
  i think it was written by piraisoodan. but many cassettes wrongly got printed with GA's name in it. This was accepted by GA in one of the tv interviews also.

  Muthax idhazhil kadhai ezhudhum was written by Muthulingam. GA didnt write any song in this film.
  
  Ranga'aadaludan paadalai'is by Vaali. 'Kunguma pottin mangalam'was written by the female kavignar

  i thought punjai undu nanjai undu was written by GA in the same film.
  I really wonder how it got misprinted as GA against few songs in this film.
  Infact my cassette says(wrongly) that "ithazhil kathai ezhudum neramidhu" was written by GA.
