Dheena Release

YSR's Dheena starring Ajit should be coming out soon. Has anyone any info about it?Also what are his other upcoming projects?

  I am very happy to see well-intentioned people in these film music forums. This shows the forum is after all not just a 'kill-time' activity :). R_C and Fliflo have very good points. I have been reading up on some tamil/indian music history. So far my research says that carnatic music is a specialisation of folk music. Inspite of the intricate tAlam system we are basically a culture that appreciates mainly melody based music. There are grammatical rules how to set a poetry to music (chandam piriththal). I am not sure how many of these new MDs can do it. IR in one interview mentioned how this is done and what tunes will go with it. He was discussing this to show that given pre-written lyrics the tunes which it can be set to are limited. MSV and other older MDs all set tunes this way. I am not sure whether any modern MDs after IR are aware of this (tamil grammar aspect of music). They probably know this only 'by the ear'. Only if you know the musical grammar of a language then the songs will be 'tuneful' and 'memorable'. It is just like you need to know sarigamapadani. I think even some lyricist are not fully aware of the musical aspects of poetry.
  (BTW, Yesterday, I was listening to 'azhagiya kannE uRavugaL neeyE' from uthirippookkaL. I was wondering who the lyricist was. My wife prompty replied it would be kannadAsan. I wish he lived longer ..)

  guys check out Vanchinathan by K.R, really good,
  you can hear it in raaga.com
  very well controlled drum beats and music, best part is, it goes very well with the song.

  I agree Velai_Vetti_nothing. I can also follow a flow in KR's music, wich there isn't in Dheena. But the matter is Dheena's songs are more cathy. Both of the "music Kings" sons have done it very very well!!!!!!!!

  Dheena, is doing very well. Velai I didn't understand that you were referring to Friends the album. i thought that your friends said that Dheena was good and it didn't live up to your expectations. You are correct, ths is an open discussion forum and all opinions are welcome. I just feel that YSR has produced good music, despite not having many opportunities to prove himself. Dheena is a good follow up to Rishi and I can't wait to hear his upcoming projects. Jeyaraj is a good MD too, but we can't pass judgement after just one movie. Minnale was good, but he too had many ARR traits, so if they arem't acceptable from ARR, or YSR, then they are also unacceptable from HJ.

  In "vatthikuchchi", SPB's voice doesn't stand in one place, I mean it's just moving within the central channel. It doesn't go to left or right channel either. Is it a recording mistake or deliberately done by Yuvan? Did anyone notice that?

  The SPB number seems to 'loud-speaker-static' style. Perhaps a new effort by YSR. IMHO, YSR could have utilized some other voice or made this song into a duo-singer one. Except for this, the entire album is fashioned up-to-date. I admire YSR for his appreciation to western-Europe stylish songs, as you can see in the Music Magazine's review section. Dare not compare ARR with YSR.

  I don't think anybody else could have done this song better than SPB, IMO. No one has the ability to go to high-pitch like him. Anyway I was wrong in my previous posting. It's not the central channel, it's the central point. The voice obviously comes from both, right and left, channels.

  anyways, this is about the search engine it has.
  In the search engine just enter 'dheena' or any other word u find in the page...
  Thats will either say "no documents found" or give you some documents that doesnt contain any of those words..
  Its time for them to acquire a better search engine..it defly helps!!

  One nice song 'KavithaikaL sollavaa' is there (Sung by Hariharan (Solo) and SPB, Sujatha (Duet)), Good number, has some KR's stamp in tune as well as BGM (Is it the right word ?).,
  
  Other than that, One average song by unni krishnan (Sogap paattai santhooshamaa paadiyirukkaar ;-) and 3 or 4 bit songs by Hariharan (Emotions in Hariharan's voice is too good, This guys is improving really fast)., One Udit Narayan song, One 'Thirupapthai Eeezumaial Venkatesa' type song, One Kaattuk kaththal song ... I am not very much impressed with this album.,
  
  It looks like Pa.Vijay is Out of stock., Ezuthinathaiyee thirumpath thirumpa ezuthi kolRaar.,
  
  BTW, When I was listening to KR's 'Muthhtamida veeNDum' from Vaanchinathan, I feel some parts of saraNam look exactly similar to saraNams of 'En Veettuth thoottaththil' (ARR - Gentleman)., Anybody noticed this ?
