i'm sorry, actually i wanted the raga for the song, 'ram ram jai jai ram' sung by kamal and sruthi. the song starts with kamal singing 'raghupathi ragava rajaram.' i knew isayil was in hamsanadham.

can anyone pl tell me the raga of "telephone mani pol" from indian
i heard that pallavi is of one raaga and charanam starts with another raaga which should not be used technically.
can anyone pl clarify it and mention the name of the raagas.

charanam is in AanandaBhairavi, but pallavi has G2 and G3...so, dont know which raagam.

'Telephone mani pol...' is a mix of Sankarabaranam (pallavi) and Ananda Bhairavi (Charanam).

after the completion of charanam,a.r.r has given a break to start pallavi again because of its vast variation.

I know a couple of songs based son subhapanthuvaraali in tamil. this is a raga associate with melancholy. but IR had composed a happy number in this raga. it is 'kandupudichen' from guru sishyan. he also has 'vaigai karayil' from the film payanangal mudivathillai.

Geetha,
To add to Vijay's list, here are some numbers composed by IR in Subha PantuvarAli:
1. Vaa VeLiye iLam Poonguyile (PAdu NilAve), a happy 'competition' number by Mano & Chitra
2. Theerthakkarai Orathile Then Podhigai ChArathile (Theerthakkarayinile), a melancholic melody, a personal favorite.

In Hindustani Todi, there's a good bandish
"Ab More Naiya Par"

There's a good Malayalam number from the famous film 'Bharatam' that fetched Mohanlal a national award:
'Rama Katha Ganalayam', a complex, classical Subha Pantuvarali number, and I think Yesudas sung long passages in the stanzas in one breath.

i'm not sure about the full song. but i think, the song kandukonden kandukonden starts with nalinakAnthi..

The song Kandukonden Kandukonden starts in Nalinakanthi and then goes onto Kadhanakudhoohalam - it has a lot of extra notes, hence giving hints to Maand as well.

Here's a suggestion:
Your postings are quite informative, but I should say that your ALL CAPS are quite a sore on the eyes. No offence meant.

You are correct about the other PahAdi songs, but 'Kurkku Chiruthavale' has Komal Dha (Dha1).. note the phrase, 'Oru KaNNil Neer Kasiya' and also 'POgirathe' at the end of the pallavi.
This song is quite similar to 'NallavarkellAm SAtchigaL Undu' from 'ThyAgam'. And I think both are set to VASanthi.

Vaasanthi is identical to mohanam except for Dha and NOT Ri.

Mohanam: S R2 G3 P D2 S
Vaasnthi: S R2 G3 P D1 S

btw,...can anybody tell me the name of the raga whose aarohanam and avarohanam are S R1 G3 P D2 S

I think S R1 G3 P D2 S is Rasika Ranjani.
'Amudhe Tamizhe' from 'Kovil Pura' (MD- IR) is loosely based on this scale.

Do you think our music directors intentionally want to mix different ragas on the same song, Or they just compose tempting tunes which by themselves result out of fusion of so many ragas?!

MDs i guess start working on a particular raaga and then to make the song sound a bit different or fresh, they tend to digress and introduce parts of other ragas in interludes that results in a sort of fusion.

and i think they go more by ear,or by what they think is a tempting tune and put in vivaadhi swaraas in those approriate places.

and most good MDs (atleast in TFM )have always had a good knowledge of carnatic music to some extent or the other....and hence they know that this part of the song is in one raaaga and that part is in another.

but, whether they decide BEFORE HAND that this particular song that they are to compose is going to be a fusion of saraswati, sivaranjani and hamirkalyaani(as in Kanavaa Illai kaatra from Ratchagan) is debatable.

so,in a way, it is intentional.
