Who caused the downfall of IR??..was it VM or ARR or IR himself?

i always wonder what/who caused IR to lose his touch in TFM....was it VM's break.....or was it ARR's arrival or was it IR's own lack of good tunes lately?? dont say all of them :) just strike out...one of them plz..

  I agree with ur point ..the songs should fit ,but or a layman what matters ..?he songs should be different ,refreshing ,melodious and fits 60 % to the movie .....
  But for BGM's it has to fit 100% ....that is why ILLAS remains aking in ILLAS ...

  ARR has done nothing extraordinary!! He has just created an illusion!! Ejaman, Devadhai, Kadhalukku Mariyathai, Veera, Hey Ram, Bharathi, Sethu, Ivan, Siraichalai all came after ARR's entry!! Some stupid has started this stupid thread just for cheap fun!!

  You were exposed by various people.. This guys writes here for cheap fun. As* holes like Mumbai Ramki play the role of "saguni" if you asshol*s don't like the songs of IR why the hell you listen to it just like i don't listen to ARR songs instead of attacking IR fans. Isai Gnani will always have huge following no matter how many ARRs come. All the ARR fans f*cked up morons who do not have any taste in any music.

  No need to talk abt BGM. Everyone knows abt it unless you are very new to watching movies or tamil movies to be specific.
  
  You never mention anything abt my comments to your "I will say AR Rehman used sounds which were nice ...that made the difference ..If we watch carefully it is the sounds which is making the diference .." ? My point being ARR used this set top box first(hmmm..actually that too would be IR in 1985). More have infiltrated now and more to come. Isn't that prove enough this 'making difference' thing don't need composers. Arrangers or layman will do. Meaning, you don't need special person with special skills to do it. Which also means, when these people come up with whatever arrangement its no big deal.

  MY BIG QUESTION TO YOU. ARE THEY FLOPPED MUSICALLY OR IS IT YOU YOURSLEF DIDN'T LIKE THE MUSIC?
  
  Did you make a survey to ask some people on the streets who make a fair valid representation of the result or did you survey the shops and found out not much people bought the music because they didn't like the music?
  
  One more thing. You said IR is the king of BGM. I would like to know is the song 'Unthan Rajiyathil' a flop to you?

  First of all, there is no "downfall" for IR. Hits and Miss are normal in Cine life. Second of all, he still commands more fans than Deva, ARR, other put together, so he is[not was] still king of music in TFM world.

  But the sad thing is that the only legacy IR is leaving behind is vulgarity spewing morons in this forum. No one outside this forum bothers about IR any more.

  ok.....i told once that i'm a desperate IR's fan..
  but...i cant say just for IR craze sake that he is the number in the market.....n we all know that for sure....he still can deliver good songs nowadays..but that does not helping him to regain his no. 1 position.. right??
  so..thats why i wonder what caused that...

  Let's assume that its a downfall... It was not definitely VM...IR is not dependent on lyrics to sell his music..Its just a myth created by some guys that IR lost his touch when he left VM...
  
  ARR - Though casette sales, popularity and awards might point out that this might be the reason, I dont agree with that...both have different styles and talents... IR was a veteran when ARR came into picture and I dont think he would have been on the downside becos of him...
  
  IR himself - Probably... but again the himself could be personal reasons or technical reasons...
  I feel (this is in my opinion) that he was getting inconsistent with his music and his hits were at wide intervals that ppl couldnt recongnise him as the same old IR...Again some IR fans won't agree with me, but this is what I felt.. The IR whom I used to adore gave 8 movies with atleast 3 hit songs out of every 10 movies he scored...whereas now a days it's not the case... Some ppl say that x song is brilliant and y song is brilliant and I agree that tastes differ, but as a lay man I dont find IR's songs as it used to be...
