Aditya, notes are all ok, though, we need more emphasis for kalyani,,
by tone I meant the patch used (88 gm midi I think ?) by you to play the lead. imho, this New age tone does not suite kalyani, kalyani is achived better in instruments like flute, violins,i.e...sounds with minimum or no decay.
UV, can you call me at work. ?

It's a deeply spiritual content. I personally donot judge it. Usually singing for divine love is something the composer and singer feels it to themselves. However I felt it completely owing to my inclinations to the spirituality. You sang it with good spirit and composition sounds good.

As you guys know I am still out of good recording gadgets I recently bought one but unfortuantely its not working properly,if you guys can suggest some good ones like cakewalk.
To me cakewalk looks very complicate ,so suggest me something thats little less complicated.
Aditya when it comes to spiritual music part you are right Bhava/emotion plays a important part without it the song doesnt have any life however complicated or perfect music wise, thats why hearing KJY or MS singing devotional songs sends goosebimble or bring tears to many listeners.

That was not a 88 GM Midi Patch. When I was in Paris for 3 weeks last month, I collected this live sample from a local musician playing all the popular WCM pieces on various coke bottles with water filled in it - Like our JalaTharangani. He plays in paris tourist places at his will.
I tweaked this sample to make it sound like a bell. I am still working on this sample. I am completely a beginner in this area - need more experience though:-))
I have recorded him on video too, once I upload it on web, I will give you links. He's really cool.
Anyway thanks for your opinion.

Aditya

UV you have a good and deep voice..well suited for that spiritual song..Vasantha brought out well..incidentally I also got myself reminded of that song "vandhanam" from Vaazhve Maayam while listening to your piece:-)

UV, one more small observation..your "Serene" prelude music piece reminded me strongly of the second interlude of "iniya malargal malarum" from Poonthottam..of course the slight similiarity is coincidental but still wished to point it out..

Hello Friends:
Listen to Parade of Ragas and let me know how does it sound. When I visited Holland, MI for Tulip Time Festival - I watched a wonderful musical parade and thought of composing a parade of our indian ragas for the same occasion. I wrote a score set in Mohana, sahana and saranga ragas. Listen to each and every detail as you might miss out little details that were added for beauty.

Incidentally even I felt that it was bit annoying. That was more of a programming difficulty. However I figured out how to mute the string runs when it's not playing in their respective tracks. Please bear with the string runs and treat them as sruthi back up:-))
How does it sound overall?
Thanks,
Aditya

I know this is not the right place to post this. But hey, we are all music fans aren't we?
I am playing the keyboards for a hindi band along with my re-united college mates(banner below). I am using Korg Triton and Yamaha PSR-620 with loads of combinations I created just for this show. Only one song is sequenced - Dheeme Dheeme from Zubeida. Rest of them are pure Live playing!! I am sure you will enjoy it. Folks in Bay Area please try to make it - I guarantee it would be fun.

Excellent usage of Saxophone and Trumpets. Very well sequenced. Ambient synths are very surprising.
This is a very good DF - I am learning, experimenting and graduating myself into a professional. Keep doing good things and kick off to motivate me to compose more and more.
Thanks,
Aditya

Guys
Thanks for listening to the Mindless song. ;)
It is loop based. But I have used loops as samples. cutting, pitching, twisting and pasting to create some coherence.
If anyone is interested I can share the techno
(phaser) piece as a wave file.
Thanks

The band list is impressive. All the best and
will hear on the web.
Since you have posted it here, I have a request. Can you honour us amateur composers by playing one of our songs live?

rjay,i heard it today only, sounds good, can be longer, i wish you come back to midi kind of programming, usage of 3rd party loops is like microwavable food... :)

I have not gone away from midi. The previous 3 (once before, difference of opinion, reggae) were pure midi stuff - every note played by me (in Raja's words!).
Just that, once in a while I plunge into loops because the challenge there (fitting loops into a meaningful piece) teaches me pure composition.
