Hi! We've made a major addition to newtfmpage, and that is a big song bank. Dhool features thousands of songs for your listening pleasure. This site is a part of the newtfmpage.com - swara.com group. Together with newtfmpage, we wish to make this the best place to listen to tamil film songs online and know about tamil film music. Our collection includes old, new, famous, rare and unheard of songs. We are still fine tuning and fixing the database errors, so please bear with us. We value your feedback, and this will help us build the site better. Please post your comments below or mail to comments@newtfmpage.com.
This work was done by us (bb and RR) with MS and swara.com ravi.

Prabhu, Congratulations you have outdone yourself. :)
Now, I had some time and did some searches myself. Anyone with the same inclination, can also do the same by entering the subsets in the google search on the main page. But I warn you, that it will take quite a bit of time.
As I was only interested in myself [:)], I just tested out the following id's as supplied by the honourable Prabhu (although there were thousands of postings made from the subsets), which were

Now GUESS WHAT!!!!
Besides all the above incarnations, I discovered that I also have taken the following some as girls and some many, many years ago! :)
Note the third subset similarities.

Unfortunately, I don't have that much time as our respectable Prabhu, but if anyone else is so inclined, they can check as long as they wish. I usually have time to only check these pages twice or thrice a week.
Anyway, I don't know whether to be amused or to be flattered or to get angry. :)
But surely Prabhu, you must have a life outside this forum. To spend so much time and effort (not to mention connection cost) to villify your chief target, Ruben and in the process, make false accusations against innocent parties is uncalled for. And not to mention making sweeping statements against all Malaysian Indians.
Now what Prabhu? :)

Vaathiyar a typically lame and unconvincing chappaikattu from you. Nobody contests your claim that a zillion people can operate from the same office network.
What I showed was was 8 different people from the same network posted with the same preconceived, bigoted mindset, with the same degree of scorn, sarcasm and over-rated arrogance :-))) Which can be an much more than an amazing coincidence :)
BTW, it doesn't take more than 5 min of vi editor and Regular Expressions for doing the sort and search! I got my own automated progs that retrieve threads on this DF and arrange them on my PC. I'm not even a networking guy, if I were one, I would've busted your network long back and ended your harassment :)
And with that I take a bow to leave this honorable thread along its regular course :)

Saravanan - good to see you post here again after the undeserved criticism that was heaped on you. pls. do continue your long illuminating posts on film & song trivia. In spite of the mindless words that were spoken about you, I do like the praising "Paattu News Saravanan" title conferred inadvertantly along the lines of "Film News Anandan". hope it sticks :)

Peter Pan, I've not heard that song.
Venkat, yes, sure looks like VM in this song.
Saravanan, who is this singer Kausalya that you've mentioned? What other songs has she sung?

Shyam’s real name is Samuel Joseph. When he was a violinist in MSV’s orchestra, MSV found it easier to call him Sam, which in due course became Shyam! Apart from MSV. Shyam has worked with T Chalapathi Rao, TG Lingappa, TKR, Vedha, Salil Chowdhry (traces of Salil’s style are evident in some of Shyam’s songs) and Ravi. Shyam has composed music for around 25 Tamil films, and almost each film had at least a couple memorable numbers.
Some other songs that Kousalya sang for Shyam are ‘Ninaithirundhadhu nadandhu vittadhu, indru aadi maadha kaatru vandhu modhum’ (a breezy duet with SPB from Matravai Neril- 1980) and a few lines in ‘Paniye vaa panju mazhaye vaa’ ( a stunner, from Salanam (most probably unreleased), in which SPB sings in Hindi and KJY sings in Tamil!).
Kousalya also sang the short ‘Ye kili irukkuthu’ from Mudhal Mariyathai.
There are so many attractive elements that come together to make this song a delight- Vairamuthu’s lyrics (Adi raathiri veyile etc), SPB, of course (the way his voice smiles in ‘Naal enna paarpathu), and the sudden entry, in the second verse, of Kausalya ,when you almost thought this was a SPB solo (reminds me of Jency’s late entry in ‘En gaanam’- Eera Vizhi Kaaviyangal) and Shyam’s lazily caressing style to top it all—
Peter Pan, ‘ Maargazhi paarvai paarkava’ was from an unreleased film called Uyire Unakkaga ( not the Mohan starrer that came in 1986). This UU had music by IR. While ‘Maargazhi paarvai’ was the best, another gem was ‘Poo enbatha pon enbatha poo maalai neeye Radha’ (also by SPB & SJ). The record cover showed Prabhu in a Naval uniform. Wonder why the film didn’t come out? Thank God Radio Ceylon had no qualms about featuring songs from unreleased films (unlike our prudish Vividh Bharathi ). Otherwise we would have never got to hear these treasures!
Udhaya, ungalidam Kutram kandu pidippeno? :) Madhanotsavam Rathiyoduthaan has already been featured in SOTD. The lines are ‘Meenadum kannil vizhundhu naan aadavo, then aadum sevvithazh thannil neeradavo’ Wonderful lines indeed.
But ‘Maana ho tum, behad haseen’ (Toote Khilone, Music : Bappi Lahiri), from which VK seems to have drawn inspiration, is also a great song, sung soulfully by KJY, with good lyrics ( Tum do kadam, do saath agar, aasaan ho jaaye safar) by Kaifi Azmi. The song, incidentally featured Kaifi’s daughter Shabana and Shekhar Kapoor.
Shankar- Ganesh (can they be left behind?!) too drew inspiration from the same song for their ‘Lakshmi vandhaal, maharani pol’ (Panam Penn Pasam, SPB-SPS)
Sriram, by now you would have understood- naan nalla maadu illai :)

>a few lines in ‘Paniye vaa panju mazhaye vaa’ ( a stunner, from Salanam (most probably unreleased), in which SPB sings in Hindi and KJY sings in Tamil!).
Saravanan, talking of inspirations - this song inspired SPB when he was composing for thudikkum karangkaL - mEgam mundhanai aaduthu thannaalE.
I think salanam eventually got released. Mouli used Shyam for couple of three films that he directed in his first incarnation, most of the all of which had at least one good song only :)

- I listened to this song for the first time last week. I only heard the pallavi in singapore oli and was hooked. Turns out to be a beautiful song on the whole. The MD is Ghantasala, and the song is sung by A.L.Raghavan and P.Suseela. The prelude of the song is a haunting one, with the humming of ALR and PS. The flute that follows the initial line gives a new dimension to the song. The song left me wanting more since it finishes with just more than 3 minutes.
- Lyrics by Thanjai Ramaiahdoss.
The movie had the following songs:
thendRal pAdavum--PS
kaNmaNiyE--Udhayabanu
inbamAna iravidhuvE--PS/ALR
pOdu pOdu--PS/SeerkAzhi
sarvam sakthi mayam--seerkAzhi
kAdhal yAththiraikku--PS/ALR
manidhan mARavillai--Seerkazhi
kurumbinulum--PS
The film starred Gemini Ganesan, Savithri, Nageswara Rao and Jamuna. According to SK, this is a good family drama.
- Thread on A.L.Raghavan : http://www.newtfmpage.com/forum/11208.3.html
- I believe this is the first song composed by Ghantasala to be featured in SOTD.

Saravanan,
Good to see you back at length. Brevity is for telegrams. When most posts are breaking wind, I certainly don't mind yours being long winded.

Since Saravanan says, I agree!Shyam was MSV s assistant!.(He is the unblemished Naatami here!)but Sriram Lakshmanan has once written that Satyam, a shenai player, played along with Bismillah Khan for Karnan. So peace!
Mouli-Shyam did
Matravai Neril ( Jayadevi,Vijayan,Bhaskar)
Nandri Meendum Varuga (Pratap ,Suhasini)
All i remeber was "Ninaithirunthathu nadanthu vittathu" -SPB PS from Matravai Neril (hilarious screen jodi of Jayadevi & Bhaskar reminding you of JayaBharathi & Krishnachandran in Radhinirvedham!)
But Mouli-Shyam s Velladu Vengaygirathu had 2 great numbers.(Pratap,Uma) -
Eval Devathai (SPB VJ)
Ananda Ragam(DC,SJ)
But Shyam had good numbers in Devathai(Jayanthi,Sivakumar) & Panja Kalyani
