Madan,
from top off my head:
Reethigowle(22) sgrgmndmnns+; s+ndpmpmgrs
Malayamaarudham(17) srgpdns+; s+ndpgrs
Vasantha(17) smgmdns+; s+ndmgrs
Chaarukesi (MK26) srgmpdns+; s+ndpmgrs
Bandhuvarali(MK51) srgmpdns+; s+ndpmgrs
Subhabandhuvarali (MK45) srgmpdns+; s+ndpmgrs
actually it is Panthuvarali & SubhaPanthuvarali.
yes mayakkum is in bageshwari, thathithom in dharmavathi.
In dwijavanthi, there is Muthuswamy's classic - Akhilandeshwari. dont remember A/a.
Paadariyen is in sAramathi (a janya of natabhairavi. A/a is sgmdns+; s+ndpmgrs). Mari mari is thyagarajas kriti, iirc, originally in kaanada. I think IR retuned it to natabhairavi (not sure). he also retuned 'nee dayarada', i think originally in vasantha bhairavi. dunno the raga of the filmy version.

I have got an applet that searches for ragas on different criteria. around 500 ragas are listed in it. you can reach it in: http://home.att.net/~vasya10/Music/CarnaticMusic.html. hope its useful n easy to use.
you can also do a search on search engines on any given raga. there are some expert sites.

guys,
I did a hamsanandhi score, you can find it in
http://www.mp3.com/jsri
(look for hamsanadhi,a newout look)., I have tried! to mix 3 styles of music, jazz, Wc and indian (raagam: hamsanandhi)
Tell me how it sounds

The Hamsanandhi is very IR like(Instrumentation wse and sometimes in style too, obviously he inspires you) and is excellent, Mr Srikanth. Kudos to you for your wonderful work!

a --- (thangal unmain name enavo!),thanks for the compliment,
IR style or MSV style --- I am happy about it,
son looks like father --- thats all
Basically, I grew up hearing thier music,
though the style (esp:the classical parts)
sounds like raja, scores are original thoughts,

Srikanth:
ungaLudiya muyachikku en manappoorvamaana vaazthukkaL.If you want a frank opinion you have it here:
(1) ungaLukku irukkira thiramai migavum athigam. you are actually overqualified to become an MD in TFM (current nilavaram padi).
(2) IMO, you have an envialbly excellent knowledge in the modern instruments.
(3) You have a tendency to go for a complicated bass score which is representative of IR's style. I liked your bass score in the Hamsaanandhi and City travel. But my feeling is that your expertise in bass is making you overlook the lead. For any song it is the lead tune that ought to be catchy.
(4) As "a' observed your score has a great influence of IR especially in the usage of Drums (I am sure you will agree to the fact that the arrangement is oriented towards a musical score in HTNI). IMO, the lead tune is yet to be made more impressive.
(5) I am not sure if you have heard the theme of ratchagan. I infer that your city travel's beginning is on the similar lines. Do not get me wrong. IMO, your starting bass score is just too good. But the essence of the song is lost in the middle. once again it catches the attention when the tempo changes.
(6)Young sunrise is a very good effort. The tune is very very impressive. But in this song I want to let you notice that you have overlooked the bass part (ennada paduththaraanEnnu paarkkireengaLaa :-)). The drum arrangement is excellent. The interludes fail to impress.
IMO, I feel you can improve the orchestration further in the interludes. Wish you best of luck in your efforts. Notify whenever there is a sapling.
Regards
MS

thanks ms,
basically, i try to scorelike to me! as far as possible (try to avoid raja/msv etc - this is not easy), when I started to learn piano, I had an attachment towards bass scores --- raja had done some excellent bass scores during that period, my second music teacher, (his name was also raja, who had played for raja (ir) use to tell me about bass scores) its importance to music, bass is the back bone so I tried to do more bass,
Regarding the bass part missing in the young sun rise --- is due to poor sound balancing, It has good bass parts, ( belive it or not when I recorded I had only Rs1000 in hand, hence could not spend more, but by gods grace things have improved ,I will be out with a new album soon)
regarding the ratchagan -- frankly I have not heard it, this was composed as title score for Bugaboo!....they liked it very much, due to work pressure could not complete the movie , hence it was removed from the movie.
Thanks for your comments,
Let me work on more classical ragas like this with good tunes, just wait I will try one by this weekend.
